Two Roads Road 2 Ruin

Two Roads Road 2 Ruin

A big, hoppy IPA with plenty of bite! Our assertive, hop-centric Double IPA has a lean malt backdrop and is brewed with four American hop varieties – Summit, Palisade, Cascade and Magnum. Piney, citrus, floral, not-for-the-timid!

4.2 a pretty standard double IPA. This had a fairly clean flavor. not too bitter. solid beer.
3.4 Bottle. Citrus, resin, faint pineapple, light oily though dry and lean. Very good.
2.9 16-ounce can pours clear golden orange with a 1" bubbly white head and lacing; lots of visible carbonation clinging to glass and rising in it. Aroma: honey, peach, orange, grapefruit. Flavor: caramel, honey, smoked and sweetened orange peels, burnt toast, juniper berries, pine, salt and vinegar potato chips. Mouthfeel: medium- to full-bodied with a slightly slick finish -- along with an off-putting astringent, salty and sour bone-dry aftertaste.
3.0 Two Roads Road 2 Ruin IIPA DIPA - Imperial / Double IPA 645411 Lukt: Malt, honning. Utseende: Gulbrun. Skum/kullsyre: Tykt dekkende skum, heng. Smak: Malt, honning. Hvor: Minisamling på Bryne. Medium: Flaske@330ml, ABV@8%, Når@02.05.2020.
4.0 Offered in 4-pack, this is a nice IIPA, fairly strong and sweet, the basic, I’ll have to get more.
3.2 I think the hops may have faded
3.0 Can. Definitely leans more towards malt than hops, ~ 75% malt/25% hops. Slightly sweet. Slightly turbid dark yellow appearance. I much prefer a hoppy citrusy IPA. This is more of a malty beer with a hint of hops.

3.0 Can@Artturi, Tampere, Finland. Strong, averagely balanced nuances of sweetish overaged fruits like mango and orange. Some pine and grass. High loads of hops. A hint of light malts. Medium taste spectrum and long aftertaste with hoppy fruits. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, hop supercharged on otherwise bit thin taste profile. US style sweeter notes. Good. 6 4 7 3 10
3.1 Aroma: Citruses, flower, and needles. The aroma is very good. Taste: Malt taste, dry, hops (notes of fruit). The aftertaste has a long pleasant coniferous bitterness. Bottom line: IPA with excellent balance (Malt - hops) and pleasant bitterness. But .. I did not become a fan.
2.9 Started out good but has a salty aftertaste. Are all their ales like this? The session ale was worse for saltiness right from the start. Will not buy again. One the reviews said it was refreshing. Did not imagine a double IPA would be refreshing and that met my expectation. Just looking for a buzz? It will do that but 2 or 3 Bud Selects will do it cheaper.
3.8 Draught. The beer has got a hazy golden color with a small head and medium body. Aroma of hops and herbs. Taste of herbs, hops, citrus, flowers, soap. Bitter finish.
3.5 One pint can. Pours an amber gold with a white head gone quickly. Big citrus hops smells. Sour and solid with some juiciness but not New England style. Well made.
4.1 AR: Litschi, Ananas, Zuckerrübensirup, blumig AP: trübes bernstein TA: Litschi, Ananas, Karamell, blumig, Zitrus
3.9 can @ Party Town / Florence KY --- pkg 31 Jan 2019 --- Aroma of malt and understated citrus. Hazy medium-dark amber, ivory head that sticks at 1/2", bands of lace. Taste is crisp malt and citrus hops in medium carbonation. It moves smoothly through the swallow to a long finish that balances both the malt and the citrus. Amazingly light for the alcohol, balanced, well-conceived, a total winner. High recommendations.
3.7 12 can shared by Peter at Dutch's. Pours a clear golden color with a small off white head that disappears quickly. The aroma and flavor have pale malts, lightly toasted, citrus, grapefruit, earthy, caramel, good, drinkable DIPA.
4.0 Pour is clear golden color. Fresh hoppy, grassy, and pine aroma. Taste is of fresh hops, bitter with a bitter and sweet finish.
3.3 Nice piney and resinous hop flavor. But hop aroma is lacking. Decent malt flavor but could use a bit more. Overall a good beer but not great.
3.9 From bottle. Medium gold hazy appearance with light head (fades away quickly). Aroma is tropical fruit and apricot with similar taste. Alcohol is well hidden for an 8%.
3.8 This was the winner in the Brew Bus variety pack. Could have a little more hops, but overall a nice balance as it's not loaded with malt. Has a semi-hazy light orange appearance. Somewhere in the middle of East-West coast in style. Solid, but kind of blends in with all the other ones out there.
3.8 Can at Jeffs. At Jeffs. Clear golden. Citrus, pine, fairly bitter, caramel backbone. Pretty good.
3.7 Old note, July '18, draft at Old Skool: amber pour, thin white head clean, floral light juice, bit of booze, 7.4
4.1 Was on tap at Wexford Pub about two weeks ago, but had can yesterday. Both great, deep gold beer just slightly cloudy, plenty of hops but enough malts and body to make a great DIPA
3.9 10/17/18 With A eating Savas and watching Vampires. Poured from bottle. Mostly clear copper with a pretty decent head. Big citrus hoppy nose with lots of grapefruit pith, tropical fruit and some floral notes. Taste is sweet up front. Piney but not overly so with a good citrus presence. Quite a bit of bready malt too with bitterness only coming through slightly at the end. Palate is soft, medium and kind of thin. Smooth with piney hops on the finish. Overall, a tasty good DIPA. Smells > taste but delicious all the way through!
3.3 Bold fruit flavors define this IPA beer. Nice bitter finish. Juicy tasting hops. Very nicely put together. Better than average IPA beer. Well done.
4.0 Pours hazy amber with an off white head. Aroma of hops and pine. Tastes like grapefruit and toasted malt. Palate has a deep bite and a notes of pine, hops and a certain crisp mouthfeel. Lives up to the hype.
2.3 12 oz can, canned 6/5/18. Pours slightly hazy golden orange with a small bubbly white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves some lacing. The aroma is very subdued - some grassy hops with some malt and fruit. The flavor is a bit subdued too. Cracker malts and a little fruit with some slightly harsh bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation. Overall, a very subdued DIPA.
3.6 On tap at Two Roads, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out resinous hops and crisp biscuity malt in fairly ordinary balance. Flavour is very dry for a IIPA, with fresh, spicy, piney hops, and a crisp biscuity malt base. Bone dry, with a nicely biting bitterness. Very good.
4.0 I’ve been drinking this IPA as a go to beer. I like the bitter hop taste. It has a slight ester fragrance and is really good when paired with strong cheeses, fish and chips and barbecued meats. The 8% alcohol content doesn’t hurt either. I really can’t drink more than a six pack at one sitting though.
3.2 Can. Caramel malt aroma with notes of floral, pine and grapefruit hops. Pours clear amber colored with a large tan head that has excellent retention and some lacing. Starts with caramel malt and a little bit of grapefruit hop flavors. Finishes very dry and bitter with pine resin and floral hop flavors. OK, but I believe a fresher sample might yield better results.
