Two Roads Worker's Comp Saison

Two Roads Worker's Comp Saison

A traditional farmhouse ale made with a very expressive yeast strain that contributes an array of tropical fruit, spice flavors and aromatics. Brewed with a variety of harvest grains including barley, wheat, oats and rye as was likely the case with farmhouse brewers of yore. The result is a complex, refreshing and distinctive example of this esoteric style. Intensely fruity (passion fruit, pineapple, mango, lychee), slightly spicy (clove, white pepper)

3.4 Bottle. Misty golden pour. White frothy head. Average retention. Aroma: citrus fruit, some dank, spicy features. Light to medium body. Flat to soft carbonation. Taste: dry, citrusy, spicy from yeast. Low bitterness. OK
3.3 Aroma of yeast, typical of a saison. Pours a clear light gold with a thick head. Taste of malt and yeast. Palate is lighter than is typical of a saison but it still has the traditional elements, iron taste.
3.8 Tried at the Park Cambridge MA. On draft. Pours hazy light brown to orange body with off-white lace halo. Aroma is fascinating with toffee malt but plenty of hop fruit too. Taste is medium sweet to light bitter and it may be too sweet for some. Palate is again a plus in that some saison can be a little insipid whereas this is medium bodied or more, with a sticky feel, average carbonation and that light bitter, but still toffee finish. Overall I have enjoyed few Saison more.
2.9 Pours yellowish from the bottle with a light haze. Aroma is yeasty, light minerals and spice. Taste is mildly sweet, tart, with touches of white bread, lemon and clove. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation prickly. Overall not bad, mildly refreshing, but the water on the palate is unhelpful.
3.4 Beer share at Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury; 11th June 2018. I brought this 355ml bottle to the table (BB 27th Jul 2018). Poured a misty golden colour with a full white crown on each glass. Yeasty aroma and taste with some sweetness not often found in this style, liked it.
3.5 355ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, June 18, courtesy of Jeremy. Misty yellow appearance, white head. Pleasant sweet yeast aroma, floral. Taste presents moderately sweet saison yeast, some banana, soft on the palate. Refreshing and flavoursome sweet saison.
3.4 On tap at Throx Brew Market. Floral aromas, grassy, light pepper, light citrus. Hazy orange with a mostly lasting white head. Dry, floral, peppery, citrusy, lightly tropical. Medium bodied.
3.5 Can. Spicy Belgian yeast aroma with notes of clove, pepper, pineapple, passion fruit, mango and wheat malt. Pours clear, pale golden colored with a thin white head that has little retention or lacing. Starts with spicy Belgian yeast, wheat malt and tropical fruit flavors. Finishes dry and refreshing with clove and pepper flavors joining the tropical fruit. Pretty nice saison.
4.0 From Beergium. In Teku glass. Playing Avernum 2. Smooth yet crisp, with very noticeable wheaty banana flavors and a soft funkyness.
3.5 DATE: May 11, 2018... OCCASION: the last day of intense yard work is finished, and even though rain is forecast, the lawn is ready--thus, this beer is a worthy reward for a good day's labor... GLASSWARE: La Fin du Monde tulip... pours a hazy, sallow yellow body with a swirl of bubbles... the head is white, fluffy, and three-fingered in height; its wreath of lacing is equally attractive... intense banana, pineapple, apple, yeasty dankness, clove, orange, lemon grass, hay--a nice balance of fruitiness and the earthiness...delicate early, subtly tart and tangy, slightly creamy before finishing with a textured gravity... again, a bit of every angle is represented in its mouthfeel, which makes for a somewhat muddled experience...the banana is subdued by the fruitiness--grapefruit, orange, lemon--while spiciness of pepper, cumin, and lavender make this drinkable but slightly nuanced... really, it's a fun beer to sip or slam at 4.8% ABV, and though it might not pack in stronger flavors, it wins when (after work) it counts...I would enjoy this again, especially if a spring/summer party host offered it...
3.4 A full tasting Saison rife with appropriate Corriander, Clove and beer spice and sugar and a fairly intense bubblegum near the finish. frothy and foamy with some body not full and with a little slickness. sticky and a bit of brown in the mid palate the flavors linger. Hardly big yeast. A power packed Saison if you like that.
3.3 Bottle from Bitter Virtue. Quite pleasant Saison but I have tasted better...
3.6 Slightly cloudy golden under a thin foamy white head. Slightly farmhousey musty pale grainy aroma that’s got a hint of pear and yeasty esters. Bright flavor that’s dry and pale grainy with a light little funk and farmhouse must, gentle dried fruit, and a lightly wheaty finish.
3.5 Bottle at Beerdock Leek. Pours a clear golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma of straw, hay, some barnyard funk, a hint of clove and slight lemon peel. Taste of clove, straw, some barnyard funk, slight banana, a hint passionfruit and subtle spice. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A dry, spicy funk bitterness in the finish. A traditional farmhouse saison, refreshing and light. Just not standout.
3.4 12 oz single can from Mile High Wine & Spirits. Hazy golden appearance with a lingering white head. Aroma of bananas, clove, Belgian yeast, mild wheat and a light peppery spice. Similar flavor, yeasty and fruity with mild sweetness and a touch of bitterness. Light to medium body with ample carbonation and a smooth finish. Solid.

3.4 Pours light yellow with small head. Aroma: saison spiceiness nicely coupled with orange and a touch ofcyeast funkiness. Taste: body is medium, lightly spicey and citrussy.
3.2 Super dry. A little peppery, a little tropical -- mango and pineapple. Fuzzy fruit, with a coarse palate and a very dry, disappearing finish.
3.3 Total Wine, Fredericksburg bottle. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is yeasty, banana, grains. Flavor is yeast, wheat, cereal, hint of tart apple briefly (fades). It’s fine. Nothing special. Lingering cereal/yeast flavor.

4.6 One of the best Saison I’ve tasted (maybe together with Amager Bryghus’ "Tulsa Twister"). Crisp mouthfeeling with and tasting a bit sour apple-ish. Golden appearance and high in carbonation. Nice design on the bottle as well.
3.7 Two Roads saison reminds me of some wit beers that I have had. Maybe slightly more fruit flavors in it. A refreshing warm day beer. Cheers!
3.3 Light hay and some citrus. Florals. Decent balance. Easy drinking even though nothing special like happy hour. Bottle.
3.2 Pours yellow thick white head. Aroma bitter, slight rose. Taste wheaty , bitter citrus and bitters, slightly herby. Not brilliant but noy bad
