3.9 I wasn’t sure what to expect and had I guessed I would have been wrong. Poured a darker hue of red than I though and while the bottle said audaciously hopped I found it rather smooth. Very enjoyable and I will be back for more.
3.9 bronze body with a nice white head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass.aroma is of pine/citrus hops, caramel malts, and some oxidation.flavor is much of the same with an ice tea like finish.once again the tyranena crew come correct.
3.9 In short: Tasty, dry yet fruity IPA. Very interesting take on the style. How: Bottle, 12oz, from either Ughsmash or KinginIPA (anyway both Jason and Mike hooked me up with so many kick-ass beers that who cares what this one comes from). The look: Clear very dark red body with a medium off-wite head. Good lacings. In long: Nose of fruit cake and fruit salad. Taste is surprisingly dry. Yeast very apparent. Dry, dusty and floury, yet with plenty of juicy and fruity flavours. Some cherry skins and a light sourness. Intense caramel with a little brown sugar and red liquorice hint. Bitterness is short but sharp with medium intensity. Overall very tasty but never aggressive. Very glad I discovered that beer, I can finally enjoy stickin it up to the man and not end-up loosing my job.
3.9 This one pours a reddish tinted golden/amber color with a pretty nice head. The aroma is really fresh, like a spring rain. The flavor is very nice, mild sweetness with a very citrus happiness. Delicious, this IPA is tantalizing.
3.6 Courtesy fantomas23. This one poured a reddish orange body with a medium white head that settles pretty quick. Thin lacing is left behind from every sip. The aroma shows piney hops and resin along with some citrus hops and then give way to some caramel malts. The flavor shows bitter citrus hops upfront and then caramel malt and toasty bread add balance on the backend. This one is medium bodied that goes doown easy with a slight bitter finish. This is a pretty good IPA, but not as great as I was hoping for.
3.8 Bottle from KingpinIPA. Hazy dark caramel color with fluffy off white head. Aroma was of toffee/caramel and malt with very light hops. The flavor was the same with tea notes throughout. Good carbonation.
3.9 Unfiltered orange with medium off-white head and many particulates floating around. Aroma of citrusy hopy, fruit, caramel and bread. Tastes of citrus hops balanced nicely by the sweet malts. Medium bitter finish. Pretty good IPA.
4.1 Copper pour with a tight off white head and lace. Aroma of sweet roasted malt and light citrus hops. Flavor packed with malt a fine bitter finish. A fruity flavor that reminds me of apples. Medium bodied with good carbonation and mouthfeel. All round good offering.a
4.3 Bottle at we’ve been here 3 hours and we’re only 1/3rd of the way through the beers so quite writing essays so we can get them all done tasting. One of my favourates of the day. Alround rating: Floural, melon, lemon, lime pale malts, realkly awsome and totally different to any other ipa iv ever had. Totally so drinkable.
3.7 Bottle at Magic_dave6’s disco dance tasting. Cloudy gold, thin beige head. Nose is grapefruit and dishwatery hops. Mouth is so fruity, but some bitter hops after that. Good.
3.5 Poured a orange color with good head and good lacing. The aroma was brown sugar oranges and some resinous to it. Flavor was much the same little floraly/earth/dirt to it. Good but not great.
3.8 A nudge better than the DIPA hop whore they also make. Similar story with a little more balance. Nice hop aromas and flavors mixed well with a solid maltiness. Not overwhelming, but definitly something to session if you have the means.
3.7 Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this one. Cloudy, deep copper-gold body under a fleeting off-white head. Big malt aroma. The flavor is balanced nicely between the malt sweetness and the hop bitterness.
3.6 Bottle. Pours an amber color with a huge off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, citric, hops. Taste starts semi sweet from the malt but hops and citrus win in the end. Has a dry light bitter dry finish.
4.1 Courtesy of Ughsmash. Pours a cloudy reddish color with a white head. Lacing is dominant throughout brew. Aroma is mostly floral and hop. Tastes of grapefruit, smooth hops, caramel, and little hop bitterness, hop sweetness mostly. Finishes clean and smooth with a balanced alcohol taste. Very good IPA.
3.0 cloudy apricot, disappearing off-white nicely lacing head. aroma is mostly air with some hops or sweet tea hints. slightly hoppy, but nothing that would fit the "brewers gone wild" logo. slightly hoppy bitterness. it is a mouth-filling brew, slightly bitter in the finish, but more sweet tea than IPA. "extra" ipa? i think not.
3.6 Bottle. Courtesy of Facto. Aroma light pine and citrus. Pours a coppery amber. Flavor is a swirl of citrus and bitter pine co-mingling with sweet toast and a touch of carmel. Palate is crisp yet sneakily bitter before rushing away toward the back. Overall, very enjoyable
3.5 Hazy amber body with a medium sized off-white head, nice lace. The nose is light citrus and pine hops with some sweet malt and caramel. The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately bitter with caramel, light tea, grapefruit find, pine and tangerine. Medium body is round with moderate carbonation.
4.1 Dark cpper with a thick, creamy, long lasting white head and sticky lacing. Aroma and flavor is rich hops and malt, grapefruit, caramel,. Rich and thick. smooth and sleek. Good beer!.
3.0 Thanks to terminus for picking this IPA up for me. Pours dark copper with a light tan head. The aroma is buttery and caramelly and is very malty with no hops to be seen. Medium / thick body with a nice amount of frothy head. The start is very oxidized with dirty caramel malt, woody, papery and spicy. this is okay, but probably a bit old. Will rerate if a fresh bottle is available.
3.0 Thanks CaptainCougar. Copper pour, small white head. Aroma is grapefruit and resin. Flavor is grapefruit, resin, caramel, biscuit and toffee. A touch o f roastiness in the finish which is leading to more resin. Thin bodied and low carbonation making this not very lively. Not a whole lot going on here, grapefruit and resin with a small amount of caramel.
3.1 Medium amber to orange body with some floaters. The head is dense and lightly yellowish. Nice hoppy aroma with some grapefruit and pine resin. There is also a little bit of cat litter box. The taste has some strong burnt bread crust with bitter grapefruit rind. There is a lightly salty finish. Hmm, this one hits me in a strange way, I really like Tyranena and their past IPA’s, but this is not working for me. Too much astringent type bitterness.
3.8 Courtesy of Capt Cougar. Poured an amber/orange body with a sticky white head. The aroma is earthy and grassy hops with a touch of carmel. Flavors are resiny and fruity hops with a decent malt backbone and the same patchouli aftertast that I get from the Hop Whore, Pretty good.
3.4 Bottle from CaptainCougar, full orangey (w/ brown/red aspects) colored pour, nice off-white head, good retention. The aroma was orangey, caramel, brown sugar, resinous notes. The flavor followed suit, pulling up just short of tea-baggy, some floral-earthy-grassy aspects also appearing in there. The mouthfeel was fairly hearty and carbonated. A decent brew, but not nearly as interesting or high quality as some of the BGW concoctions, and a little light on the hop bitterness. Thank you, Tom, this rounded out a fun little round of tasting.
3.3 12oz bonus from Puddintane. Thanks! Pours dark orange with a moderate white head that leaves pretty good lace down the glass. Smells of earthy hops and a bit of grass. Mostly earth though. Tastes hoppy but with alot of malt in there as well. Almost like a very hoppy amber ale, I was expecting a little bit more aggressive IPA here. Medium body, nice carbonation. Good drinker but not a hop bomb.
3.9 12oz bonus bottle from kp. Thanks Keith! Eating a plate of Japanese curry and rice, I twist open the bottle. The bottle cap say $7.49. I hope it was for a 6 pack.Amber red color. Medium hoppy aroma. Some nice melanoidin malt. Some nice hop bitterness. Easy to drink. Nice session ale.
3.4 A hazed orangy brown ith a heterogeneous whilte head. Lightly sweet with forward toastiness with strong but faded hops. A little garlic? Full creamy mouth, very smooth. Hops a bit fresher in flavor. Malt a bit rounder. some toast still and caramel over sweeter undertones. Big warrior like hops. Lingering bitterness.
3.4 very middlle of the rode beer. I’ve been really happy with most beers from the brwers gone wild, but this one that I would not seek out again. run of the mill pale-2ipa just fine
3.6 Bottle. Poured a translucent gold-amber....big whitish head. Floral hop aroma..some light maltiness. Medium bodied...sweet fruity malt flavor, light citrus flavor, lotsa hop bitterness, resiny. Tasty IPA!
4.1 Beautiful amber color; creamy head. Very nice hoppy aroma, resiny over all, but also a bit fruity. Quite good body strength, very good flavor, of caramel, sweetish, with a good hopping, partially resiny and fruity. Very good.
