2.4F: huge, off-white, not long lasting.
C: dark, non-transparent, hazy.
A: vinegar, acetic, probably infected, some caramel.
T: the same vinegar tones, with some woody, caramel, very sweet, the sourness reminds me of lambic style, full-bodied, lively carbonated, 0,33l bottle, something wrong I can not understand, how can be so strong beer infected.
4.3#319
Bottle 0,33l from the brewpub. Almost clear red body, medium beige head. Amazing aroma of plums, red berries, dark honey, liquer. Taste is prominently sweet. Again red berries followed by strawberries. Meed, red grapes, dry fruits. Velvety full body, syrupy texture, only very slightly carbonated.
Marvelous! Meed-like beer. Alcohol is very well hidden, I can’t recognize it has almost 13%.
4.3Bottle 0,33l from the brewpub. Cloudy, red/brown colored. AROMA- sweet, plums, red berries, honey. FLAVOR- fairly sweet, strawberries, cranberries. Warming alcohol presence. Full bodied, syrupy.
I love full bodied sweet beers and this one’s something. Great!
2.8Bottle at the RBSG grand tasting in Portland
Hazy dark amber, small off-white head, no lacing. Aroma of caramel. Taste of caramel, dark fruit and tart
Not real good.
2.5Bottle, pours a murky orange amber with a small off-white head. Nose is super infected and oxidized - lots of vinegar and acetic notes. Flavour is along the same lines - tastes more like an acetic, vinegary sour beer. Not a disaster but not very pleasant. Meh.
3.7Aroma: malt, caramel, dark fruits.
Taste: moderate to strong sweeteness.
Flavour is rich and complex: candy fruits, almond liqeur, sour cherry liqeur, dried sour cherries, caramel.
Long sweet rich aftertaste with pleasant alcohol notes.
Overall this is very pleasant, complex, nourishing beer.
2.8Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with no head. The aroma is dark fruit and figs. Medium mouth, caramel, dark fruit, very sweet, decent.
3.7SWING-TOP 33 CL from ned and artemb. Deep red and slightly hazy, small tan head. The aroma is a bizarre yet nice combination of sweet fruit liqueur and clove-like spice. The taste is very sweet, candied fruit, a touch of alcohol and light spice in the finish. With all the sweetness, the beer does not feel sticky or cloying. Very good.
3.9hazy dark with a light white head. sweet with hints of Hawaiian punch, cola, berries and a cacophony of assorted flavors. a complex brew that was a pleasure to drink.
3.10.33l bottle. Hazy amber color with quickly off white head. Aroma is raisins, caramel and dark fruits. Taste is heavy sweet. Overall it’s nice beer, but to sweet.
2.8Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Cousin Uri for the bottle! Hazy, fizzy brown. A little spicy and caramel aroma and a little alcoholic. Alcoholic, sugary and sweet taste. Smooth and silky, very sugary and full-bodied.
3.6Cervesa molt correcte, és molt dolça amb molts tocs a galeta, però sobretot a caramel.
Cerveza muy correcta, es muy dulce con muchos toques a galleta, pero sobretodo a caramelo.
3.7Bottle, 330 ml from u Medvidku, Prague. Courtesy of and shared with JFK. Pours amber brown with tan head. Caramel malty aroma with fruity citric notes. Sweet caramel malty flavor, ripe fruit, raisins, acidic note. I’m not a fan of sweet beers so this was a pleasant surprise because I expected even more sweetness. Interesting.
1.9Poured from a bottle. Medium brown color, no real head. Sweet malt with a tangy aroma. Medium body with a syrup malt flavor and a medium sweet finish.
1.3No aroma pours a great brown color with a small tan head. Horrible taste initial sweet syrupy malt followed by a medicinal finish with a creamy feel.
4.2Barwa ciemna, koźlakowa, głęboka. Piana obfita, beżowa, wysycenie wręcz olbrzymie. Lacing nienaganny. Aromat słodki, lekko piernikowy, wyczuwalny delikatny kwas. W smaku ciężkie, pożywne, sycące, piernikowe, na języku gęste i jedwabiste. Goryczka średnia.
3.5500ml bottle @ the 9th Shrewsbury Bottle Share Oct 14, brought by Jeremy from his prague travels. Pours hazy chestnut brown with creamy beige head. Aroma of dark fruits. Taste is sweet verging on sour with some raisins, plums and brown sugar notes. Nice.
3.8Bottle
Aroma-caramel, honey
Appearance-brown, hazy, tan foam,
Taste-medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour,
Palate-full body, thick feel, average carbonation, bitter finish
Overall-very good
2.6Bottle. Pours a cloudy nougat brown body with a large pillow of creamy off-white head. Aroma is nougat, raisins, rum, brown sugar and hints of white bubble gum and wine gum-like esters. Taste is sweet caramel, toffee, raisins, brown sugar and hints of rum, white sugary esters and Norwegian brown cheese. Full, oily palate, medium carbonation. Way too sweet even for me, and the FG of around 1060 (I had to measure it!) combined with a scarcity of hops makes this just a tad bit sticky and cloying.
1.7Yuck. Looks nice, smells nice, but tastes pretty crap. They say on the bottle, "never drink it alone!". Well they're right, chances are you'll need someone to get a bucket. It's competition for strong beer contests, but not good beer contests. Very heavy malt flavours and a graininess I can't handle.
3.4Bottle @ Christers. Pours amber with a creamy tan head, lacings. Aroma of malt, caramel, wood, berries, light sourness. Flavor is sweet, malty, caramel, wood, berries, some alcohol. Full body, soft carbonation. Alcohol well hidden for the ABV. 110614
3.2Bottle, 12.6%. Unclear dark brown with tiny head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted, little nut and wood. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, little nut, sweet, little chocolate, berries, wood, warming, trick and sticky.
3.3Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Hazy reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark fruit, light wood and light alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Very sweet finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 110614
3.4Bottle. Small head with short duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich fruits, raisin, syrop, malt, caramel, wood and notes of hops. Sweet and warming. Oily palate.
1.2Unclear ruby, little head. Sour aroma, redcurrants and sweat socks. Similar taste. Not good. It must be off. It certainly does not taste like a doppelbock.
2.8Small bottle kindly shared by Gunnar. Gusher. Light Brown head on a clear ruby orange body. Malts, scented eraser, dried fruits and light berries on the nose. Sour, fruity. Grows in the mouth. Medium to full body. Oxidiced.
2.9Shared swingtopp bottle at local tasting. Ruby flavour, decent beige head. Pleasant and interesting aroma, notes of plums, prunes, ginger and allspice. The flavour is sour (unintended?), sweet and fruity, spices in the background.
3.5Bottle courtesy of zdk. Pours a deep brownish body with thick white lacing. Aroma is sweet raisin bread, light dark fruits, caramel and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is medium with noticeable carbonation and flavors of sweet caramel candy, raisin bread and malts. No significant alcohol flavor.
3.6Bottle at DadsThursday. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of caramel, toffee, sticky candy and dark fruit. Medium body. Some light molasses.
