Uiltje Mind Your Step

Uiltje Mind Your Step

4.0 0.33 l bottle from 'Bierhalle Deconinck' at 14% abv, best before February 2022, cellared for almost two years. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, slightly fruity and a bit resiny aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, cranberries, tropical fruits and some pine. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty, moderately fruity and slightly resiny taste of dark chocolate, licorice, raspberries, cranberries, coffee, some tropical fruits and a touch of pine, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly earthy, moderately resiny and a little herbal-spicy finish with traces of juniper. Full body, creamy and oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Dangerously drinkable for that abv, hardly boozy, really well-balanced and pretty smooth. Somehow a bit monotonous, but nevertheless quite good!
3.8 0,33l bottle at home courtesy of Sander, big thanks. BB 14.02.2022. black color, very small coffee colored head. smells licorice, earthy, light oak, cocoa, peppery, spices. nice to very nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of licorice, earthy, light lactose, cocoa, light berry notes, light bitter chocolate, bit brown sugary. finishes lightly sweet with notes of cocoa, lactose and some brown sugary notes. quite good one, surprisingly smooth to drink for the ABV:
4.2 Thanks to Matthieu for selling the bottle! Pours hazy dark brown, blackish, with a lasting, small, unstable, frothy, beige head; little lacing. Aroma of dried fig, raisin, cranberry, juniper, chocolate powder, black olive, walnut, salted peanut, toast, port, coffee bean. Taste is medium malty sweet, quite fruity with raisin & cranberry, perhaps some caramel & dough, faint notes of umami black olive & sourish juniper provide balance; light to medium roasted bitter middle contains coffee roast & chocolate (powder), nutty edge too but sweetish malt core persists. Dryish, earthy hoppy finish, a bit woody, lingering dark fruit, syrup, and a nice dash of warming whisky alcohol. Medium to full body, oily-syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Complex, and balanced in all aspects. Great!
3.4 Bottle shared @Luppolo Station (Rome). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma beige media. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con finale appena amaro, etilica. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Un po' tamarra.
3.5 On tap at Fermentoren. Black with a tan head. Faint cocoa aroma, tastes a little alcoholic, vanilla, some wood. Fizzy finish, full body. I am pissed.
1.6 27.09.2014, tap sample @ Borefts: Tiny shortlasting head. Aroma is pretty neutral, dark sugar, dark fruits, hints of cough syrup and alcohol. Taste is sweet, dark sugar, sap, bark, dark malts, alcohol, grass, burnt caramel. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh sweet mouthfeel. Two or three sips are more than enough...
3.6 On tap at All In Beerfest, Gotheburg 2018. Black with tanned head. Roasted malt and coffee, chocolate finishing alcohol warmth.
3.8 Fat på All In Beer Fest, sent pass lördag. Gott.
4.8 Bottle filled in 2014. Black, thin caramel head. Chocolate, PX, Port, cookies, dried fruits, Ceylon tea... Very bitter , which harmonizes the sweetness, smooth. I don’t taste the high alcohol.
3.5 (nez fort (trop) (café (ad), hop (dry)), ~onctueuse, forte (14, juniper (ad)), difficile à apprivoiser, déçu (pas horrible))
3.9 Shared @ home by Thompson. Pours very dark brown or almost black with a very small tan head. Smell gives roasted malts, licorice and some dark chocolate. Tastes like the same roasted malts, dark chocolate and some coffee with a very smooth body. Overall, just a really good beer that I'd love to drink again!

3.6 Aromat intensywny, słody palone, gorzka czekolada, nuty kawy i jałowca. W smaku pełne, słodkie, popiół, kawa, gorzka czekolada, przełamane cierpkością i posmakiem jałowca, czerowne owoce w tle. Finisz alkoholowy.
4.1 Zwart bier met beige schuimkraag. Geur: melkchocolade, vanille, Amarena-kers, zwarte woud taart, alcoholisch. Smaak: alcoholisch, chocolade, wat bitter, licht fruitig zuurtje. Volmondig. Zachte koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: licht kleverig, bitterzoet en alcohol verwarmend. Lekkere, complexe, zwarte gerstewijn.
3.7 Bottle a black colored beer with a tiny white-off head aroma roasted malts caramel dark fruits licorice cofffee chocolate and hops flavor roasted malts spicy dark fruits caramel licorice chocolate coffee smoke alcohol and bitter hops in the aftertaste
3.2 W zapachu dominuje kawa. Piana szybko znikająca z powierzchni. Piwo delikatnie przegazowane. Wyraźne nuty alkoholowe w smaku. Średnia goryczka. W smaku głownie kawa. Dość wytrawne.
3.3 UT261117. 33cl bottle at home from Burg Bieren, Ermelo. Nose is Chocolate liquor. Caramel, coffee, molasses. Heavy bittersweet. Medium lasting roasty sugary medium to heavy bittersweet. Full body oily medium carb. Too sweet 745512
4.2 Dark brown, black almost pour, with no head at all. Chocolate, milk chocolate actually, coffee, red forest fruits and roasted malts and black licorice for aroma. The flavors are in line with the nose ending in a lovely bitter. Thick and syrup like mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Another winner for the Uiltje team!!!
3.4 Keg @The Hanging Bat, Edinburgh. Uiltje Takeover. Pours black, tan head. Nose is malty, big booze, slight vanilla. Taste is big vanilla, slight chocolate.
4.5 Bottle at home. Pours totally oily black, thick, with a nice frothy head. Aroma is intense, complex and boozy, loads of dark malts, intense roast aromas, some coffee, really fruity - berries are noticeable. Earthy pine notes with a juniper zestiness. Oily thick mouthfeel, some zestiness. Big body, lots of sweetness. Flavours are generally complex, roastiness accompanied by malty sweetness and a lot of berry flavours, as well as woody pine notes. Blueberries, raspberries, figs, raisins, cranberries (I did know though). Oak chips give it a beautiful smoothness and balance. Wouldn't think this was 14% if it weren't for a lingering warmth at the end. Finishes dry and sweet (almost sherry), with a wood/oak touch. Wow - amazing stuff!
Mind your step :-)
4.2 Bottle at home. Very dark brown, firm and creamy beige head. Quite complex/not your average stout with juniper and red fruits coming through along fruity and bitter hops (imperial black IPA?), roasted malty creamy espresso, leather, cacao and vanilla. Well balanced. Lingering fruity hoppy, bitter, roasted malty finish. Firm body, medium carbonation, covering mouthfeel.
Dobre
3.8 Aromat super. Kawa, lukrecja, czekolada, wanilia. W smaku mniej intensywne, lekko puste ale nadal dobre. W finiszu ostre
3.9 draught@Erzbierschof - almost black beer with a chaotic foam left; aroma of prunes and molasses, notes of rum; fairly sweet, quite thick, full-bodied, creamy palate; long aftertaste of figs and honey - the alcohol is very well hidden
3.7 Good tan head, very fast gone over black beer. New World hops, fresh; soy sauce, meatesters. Sweet-roasted and alcoholic; generally sweet flavour, some demure coffee. Alcoholheat, very slick to viscous. Sweet, but rewarding all the same. Thanks, M & L V.! 7/4/8/4/14
