T: rich malty base, toffee, mellow fruity, bit warming alcohol, full body, lower carbonation, simple yet not bad.
3.6330ml bottle from West Coast LRS at Teekay.
Appearance: clear dark copper with a tan head.
Aroma: sweet, dark fruits, caramel.
Taste: similar, maybe some little veggie notes.
Overall: ok.
4.0Bottle. Clear amber body with a lacing beige head. Strong, nice aroma of dry fruit, caramel and warming vinous alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit, warming alcohol and vinous. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Solid, tasty and very nice Barley wine.
3.7KØLF 100818. Red brown color with a beige head. Aroma is caramel, nuts, alcohol, dried fruits. Flavor is caramel, nuts, alcohol, pine, dried fruits, raisin, sugar. Full body. Nice beer.
2.9Okropny karmel i alkohol w smaku i aromacie, ciężkie do picia. Może było zbyt świeże?
3.8Very thick and rich barley wine, full of caramel, raisin and nut flavours as is expected with this type. Should actually score higher than it is right now.
3.5From tap. Pours cloudy dark brown. Small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty. Swet, dense malty. Overripe fruity. Raisins. Dry malty. Bitter and dry toasted finish.
2.811.11.2017, 0,33l bottle shared with friends @ local tasting:
Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet boozy, caramel malts, grass, minerals, hay, nuts, alcohol, almonds, raisins, bark, toast. Taste is slightly sweet mineraly, caramel malts, nuts, bark, minerals, booze, burnt toast, almond essence, grass, hay, raisins. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough, but not really my cup of tea.
4.0Slightly misty brown amber with tan head slowly resting into a thin layer. Aroma of dark roasted malts, caramel, toffee, rumcake, dried fruits like raisins and plum. Yummy!! Awesome taste of dried fruits, caramel and the dark malts. Lovely sweet back in the throat finish. Medium, leaning over to full body with carbo that touches perfection. Yes, great!! Compliments to the brewers!!!
3.7Tap @Het Arendsnest, together with BeerGangsta. Hazy deep amber brown, small frothy beige head, light lacing; aroma roasted malts, cinnamon, caramel, dried fruits; taste light heavy sweet and medium bitter, malty, caramel, fruity, some alcohol; sweetbitter aftertaste, bit boozy but not too obtrusive; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation; very nice, tasty, easy to drink.
2.9Tap @ De Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 15/09/17. Aroma is strong caramel, some dried fruit. Taste is strong caramel, some stone fruit, raisin.
3.7On tap at Arendsnest Amsterdam. Sweet. But also hoppy. Modern style barley wine very hoppy on finsh. Jammy. Plum and grapefruit. Good varley wine. Full satisfying. Not too hot. Very impressive. Love the victoria plum flavour. Too notch. Plum jam. Really liked it. Had a Proustian rush to my mums homemade plum jam. Minus the hops obviously.
3.5Bottle. Color: Ruby, fast disappearing light brown head. Taste: Dark red fruit, raisins, hints of caramel, licorice, wood and earth. Bit boozy. Some sweetness at start, but soon going to more bitterness. Bit harsh, lacking balance.

3.9. 4l on tap @ Explosive. Pours dark mahogany red with low head. Aroma is dried fruits, warm alcohol, malts, salty liquorice, hint of gummy bear. Flavor is mostly same with syrup and plums. Nice.
4.1Durchaus runder Barley Wine mit deutlich erdiger Englandausrichtung. Hat zwar auch eine subtile Hoppyness, dominiert wird der Ami allerdings von einer latenten Bananakaramelsweetness with a touch of Aprikose & Kraut 😉. Ansonsten stiltypisch schwer und ein gelungener Tastingausklang....wenn man auf dem Sofa einschlafen möchte 😁..0,33l Bottle from the Brewery in Haarlem, NL.
4.0Deep dark amber, small light beige cap. Grapefruit and sweet malt on the nose. Mild herbal hops, some faint bruised banana, overripe peaches, candied fruit, sweet homemade wine, thick caramel. Faint nail polish. The taste is really interesting. The hops and the yeast make up a great mix of herbs and pine on one side, and a lot of mixed fruit on the other. All on top of a great malt backbone, sweet, but not sugary in the slightest, bringing a lot of good stuff on its own. I’ll just enumerate for a bit: biscuit, toffee, butterscotch, coffee candy; ribwort, crunchy tall grass, pine resin, fresh tobacco; grapefruit, Chinese plum, peach, apricot, blackcurrant. Solid, well-deserved bitterness in the finish. Aftertaste has lingering caramel maltiness and bits of dried dark fruit, with some mild leafy hop bitterness, too. Full body, palate coating without being too sticky. "Fluffy". Alcohol’s enriching, never a burden. A really great balanced barleywine, dangerously easy to drink. I’m glad i don’t have any more bottles around. Well, might get some more tomorrow, tho...
3.5Bottle. Sensoric. Burnt caramel with small, light brown, semi-thick head. Poor head retention and lacing. Light to moderately fruity. Slightly herbal. Moderate to light heavy malty aroma - candy, caramel. Nice, moderate bubble-gum like notes. Taste is moderately sweet and moderately bitter - pretty well balanced and stable. In overall nice, packed with malts, but not extremely sweet, well ABV hidden. For English BW it’s too bitter.
3.8Redelijk matig aroma. In de smaak veel gist, appelsienzeste en kruidigheid. In de afdronk italiaanse bitters.
Jambes fines, huileuses, longues.
3.4Butelka. W aromacie mało intensywne nuty owocowe, delikatna czekolada, karmel. Profil pół słodki. W smaku zdecydowanie więcej owoców, karmel, toffi. Nagazowanie wysokie, goryczka niska. Pijalność znakomita, alk. b.dobrze ukryty.
Zawodzi na całej linii aromat - mało intensywny i pusty.
3.2December 2016 - Bottle share at Leighton’s. Thanks LKS! As ’Het Uiltje Oh Buurman Wat Doet U Nu?!’, 11.8%, nearly 3 years old Reddy brown, some floating sediment, foamy tan head. Aroma is a bit harsh – some booze and varnish showing up, also redcurrant. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is fairly sweet, toffee, more redcurrant, spicy and dry into the finish with some varnish harshness. Decent enough. (3.2)
3.8Kolor ciemnobursztynowy. Aromat bardzo słodki, pełny. Czuć toffi, czekoladki, nuty chmielowe. W smaku również pełny, oblepiający. Jest karmel, toffi, rodzynki. Dość wysoka chmielowa goryczka
