4.0Pours a three finger off-white head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Crystal clear amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Sweet grapefruit nose and flavor is grapefruit and caramel. Higher ABV is hidden. Worth trying. $8.49 for a caged and corked 750ml bottle from Hannaford’s Concord, NH.
3.4Slightly Hazy Dark Amber Color, Huge Foamy Head, Decent Lacing. Faint Hop Aroma. Sweet Malt, Caramel, Brief Faint Apricot,Slight Hop with Light Alcohol Kick. Medium Body, Easily Drinkable. Not as harsh as some fo Imperials that come out of Eastern Europe. Waaay easier to drink and more enjoyable. Pleasant belly warmer on this cool autumn evening. Like the Label. Worth A Try...
2.4Serving: 750 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a solid gold color with a small white head. The nose is sweet with pale malt, alcohol, and light honey. The flavor is sweet and the alcohol is way too present. Lots of pale malt sweetness, a little citrus bitterness, and a slight solvent like quality on the back end. This just comes across as all out of balance and to be honest, not very tasty.
2.8Bottle. Hazy golden yellow color, fluffy white head. Aroma of honey, hay. Taste is sweet, light fruit. Oily mouthfeel.
2.9The beer appears okay, it is a clear straw color with a nice one finger white head and some decent lacing on the glass. The smell comes off with a mild lemony smell, some grassy and floral notes, but is light and not much for a imperial pilsner. The taste is okay with a clean grassy flavor, mild lemon zest kicks in on the back end. The mouthfeel is clean and crisp but mild and disappates quickly. Overall, this beer is okay but under delivers in taste for an imperisal pilsner...Ivehad better pilsners, let along imperial pilsner.
3.57/15/2010. 750 ml. corked and caged bottle. Pours golden yellow with a short white head. Hoppy aromas with malt, light fruit, bread and cereal. Medium carbonation with a hops and alcohol on the finish.
3.4Gold pour huge head. Aroma of body funk, lemons, rye spice. Tastes yeasty apricoty with substantial hops and maltss. Thick palate. All around intense brew, but balanced in its intensity.
3.3750 ml bottle dated 10/17/12. Pours a bright translucent orange with a big white head of foam. Pretty decent retention. The aroma I grainy, bready, and a little estery. The alcohol sneaks in there as well. Sort of caramely. The taste is sweet overall with that dry alcohol presence coming across more aggressively in the taste. Dry and sweet finish.
3.1Pours pretty amber with an orange hue and a fat head of off white foam that fell slowly and left a layer on top and cloud like lace. Nose is good. Pilsner malt, spicy hops, and a touch of lemon. Starts off with a little grass that becomes more pronounced as it warms. This has a light bread with honey that becomes an actual caramel sweetness as ti warms. I did not observe any alcohol on the nose.
Taste is heavy and immediately boozy. Instead of that citrus and grass and saaz you get alcohol and then a light hop bitter. The sweetness is heavy and detracts from the grain. There’s a corn sweetness in here too. It’s verges on cloying and all the elements of a pislner are fighting with the heavy alcohol and clashing with the caramel. The corn is just too much.
This finishes clashing. Sweetness with a moderate bitter. Thank goodness the carbonation was more than ample to keep the body of this beer from being heavy like a rock. The corn outdoes the spice and that is half the flavor of the pils as far as I am concerned. It’s a little slick on the palate and overall just average.
3.3750 ml bottle shared by a friend- thanks, John! Pours a mostly clear deep golden color with a finger of white head. Notes of pale and sweet malts, honey, cornmeal, grass, straw, and subtle spice. Medium-bodied, with a malty mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Pretty solid for the style, though it isn’t a style I’m wild about.
3.2750ml bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a nice fluffy white head. Aromas of lemon, grass, pilsner malt, and yeast. Taste of sweet lemon, light grassy bitterness, and some yeast.
2.6Clear yellow
Tobacco and rye. Spicy corn like nose
Nice mouthfeel. Honey and crystal malt. Spicy and pumpkin like qualities

8/06/2011: Tilted Smile Imperial Pilsner... Aroma: Smells like acetone (nail polish remover) and anti-freeze. Appearance: Most clean bolden color with a minimal off-white head; no visible carbonation. Flavor: I barely got a taste since it went in and pretty much was spit right back out -- sour fermented apple, rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, and more industrial solvents! Palate: Medium-light; little to carbonation. Overall: Absolutely HORRIBLE; actually, I spit it out everywhere; digesting and instantaneous drain pour.
1 pint 9.4 fl. oz. bottle (9% Alc by Vol) shared by Tmoney99. Thanks Tom! Rating #218 for this beer.
3.2Dry fruits slight apricot some doughy scents and light hops. Foamy white head and yellow orange body. Malts and tangy fruit flavors mostly apricot some alc notes and biscuits. smooth and dry on the palate.
3.3Aromas of honey, bread, and grass. Clear gold with a fairly lasting, white head. Dry, savory, and with a perceptible strength, flavors are nutty and somewhat floral and grassy. Medium-full bodied with decent carbonation and a somewhat apricot-like, sticky finish.
3.625.4 ounce bottle. Pours a golden color with a 4+ inch white head collapses slowly. Taste is of malt, spice, hops, pepper, grass, light citrus and some grapefruit. Similar clean aroma. Has a nice creamy body. The finish is warming and a bit bitter and dry. Very easy to drink and quite enjoyable. Far too easy to drink the whole bottle. Good Stuff.
2.9On tap at Blue Monk in Buffalo. pours slightly hazed golden colour with good frothed white head. Slight earthy aroma.
2.4Appearance: thick, dark gold with a soapy, bright white head. Aroma: honey, pepper, grass, hay, creamed corn, pie crust. Taste: chewy, thick malts vie with slightly aggressive black pepper and lemongrass, with a bit of honeysuckle underneath. Finish: ends with lingering, slightly viscous full mouthfeel and a slight alcohol warming. Notes: I don’t get the ’imperial pilsner’ craze. Pilsners are supposed to be light, zippy and refreshing. I’m a huge Uinta fan, but I didn’t care for this. Attempting to make a pilser ’imperial’ just makes a thick, boozy mess.
4.2Very nice strong lager. A bit on the stale side in terms of flavor and very aggressive alcohol decision, but on the whole, this is a good beer. Winchell brought this beer back to Lawrence with him from SLC in 2013.
3.4Sampled once a year ago or so. Grassy sweet malty nose. Fairly malty on the palate, yet hay filled and light dirty hop finish. Decent.
(Rating #4734)
3.4Bottle:   Pale straw, hazy, thing sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Bright straw, a little floral in a herbal sense, low shrub like fruitiness.   Bright straw, a little heavy, fairly malty, sweet, with some honey and
floral notes.   Fairly decent I must say.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Its very smooth.   Strong sweet grassiness lingers.   Thankfully this is not mealy, nor bready, but straight up strong grassiness
with a sweet honey and floral aspect.   For a 9% beer, its well hidden as well.   Dangerously drinkable.
3.0The 2013 natl Vegas meeting- this is a Reid pick- a pilsner that smooth and rich with a little kick - I might try another
3.4Bottled sample at the public house. Straw colour. Very boozy. Pins enters are my favorite but could appreciate this beer
3.4Overall- This was a rather interesting brew. The aroma with its fermenting melon smells was slightly off putting, but not totally so (somewhat intriguing). Its taste was rather unique with a fascinating mixture of flavors and transitions. I kind of liked the odd flavor profile and while it is not something I would go frequently, it is worth a try and a time to time go to.
2.8750ml bottle.
Pours a deep straw with a white head.
Hoppy, malty aroma, butterscotch, caramel, apricot, slightly grainy, hints of funk?
Off-dry, medium body, high bitterness, balanced CO2.
Hoppy, malty taste, quite grainy and robust, the hops feel rather oxidized and over the hill, there are some disturbingly funky elemnts emerging as it warms up. Very odd. (2013-04-16)
3.6Pours a clear golden-amber in color with a foamy 2-finger thick white head. Smells of caramel, honey, grass, bit of peach. Taste is bitter and sweet - grassy hops, caramel, biscuits, a hint of dark breads.
1.9OK, this was bottled in 2011, something I missed, but I’ve had rogues long past due date and it was still very drinkable and very good. This smells like whiskey and tastes like corn and honey and booze. Aweful imperial impilsner.
3.4Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. One of the better pilsners I've had. Lots of biscuity malt. Surprisingly tasty.
