3.7 Interesting beer made by the monks. Pretty dark and pretty malty. This is a good Belgium beer.
3.0 Easy to drink though not super complex by any means. Close to what you could call a Belgian session ale. Pours hazy blonde with OK head and lacing. Light crisp straw finish and lightest hint of florals in aroma. Tap at Barcelona.
3.6 12 oz. bottle from Uinta Brewing giftshop in SLC. Unusual cooked corn aroma that reminds me of fresh corn tortillas from Mexico that aren’t as fresh anymore. Beautiful crystal clear golden color with a foamy white head. The cooked corn is much less in the taste but still there. Nice Belgian spiciness. A little bit of funk and a nice dry hay taste reminiscent of a Saison. Finishes slightly sweet and dry with a lasting Belgian yeast taste. I liked this more and more as I drank it.
3.3 Pours pale straw slightly cloudy lots of frothy head and lots of lacing. Nose is very yeasty and some banana. Flavours are yeast, pale fruit, some banana, lots crackers. Taste light sweet light bitter. Medium body with lively carbonation, somewhat dry finish.
3.5 Great fruity and spicy aroma. Cloudy gold color. Lasting rocky head. Very nice phenolic taste. Enjoyable.
3.2 Backlog. 12 oz bottle from Biggie Wine & Liquor. A pretty straight foward Belgian blonde ale. Belgian yeast, fruity esters, toasted grains, allspice, light hoppy flavor. It’s OK.
3.3 12fl oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a one finger, off white head. Aroma has notes of farmhouse orange citrus, yeast, mild candy sugar, and a hint of bubble gum. Taste is balanced. Mild farmhouse tart with citrus, bubble gum, and a slight peppery/grass at the end. Medium body and carbonation. Clean in the mouth with a dry finish. Overall not bad but could be more to my tastes. A touch too bitter.
3.0 A decent spiced aroma over a dry slightly fruity ale base. Fairly simple but pretty good...lingering mouthfeel and clove & pineapple aftertaste. 6.8% abv on the label not 4% as listed. Slight warming alcohol presence."
3.7 Bottle pour. Pours a light golden color with a nice lemon spice aroma. A little coriander maybe too. Fizzy white head all throughout. Really mild flavored Belgian ale, but really nice refreshing flavor. Nice, easy drinking beer. Finishes with just the right amount of pepper spice. Tasty beer.
2.8 Third beer consumed from the MYSTERY BOX, sent from my father. Many thanks! To long-stemmed tulip, it pours a dark orange-tinted royal yellow with which a bubbly, snowy white head 1 finger in length stood. Aromas of apricot fruit leather, Belgian yeast, coriander, vanilla malt, melted wax, and lime meat. Tastes much the same with the addition of tin, wet newspaper, and watermelon seeds. Not the most flavorful vaguely defined Belgian Ale in the world, but it’s hardly the worst.
3.6 Clear golden body w/ white head leaving nice lacing on glass. Fruity nose and flavors with spice & dry clean finish. Light & effervescent.
3.0 12 ounce bottle. Pours a nice clear gold with a thin white head that lasts. Taste is of banana, clove, wheat, spice, fruit, wood and yeast. Similar aroma. Has a decent body with a slight bitter and dry finish. A good beer, but something is missing that would make it great.
3.7 bottle - Pours clear gold with a fast-fading white head. It has a yeasty, fruity aroma. The flavor is sweet with esters and a pleasant fruit character leading into a somewhat dry finish. It’s medium bodied and very enjoyable.
3.3 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold color with 1" of white foam. Plenty of carbonation rises up the glass. Aroma is a mix of sourness, spice, yeast & malt. Medium-light body, taste is a nice balance of yeast & malt, although it is light tasting. Slight yeast/sour finish. I’ve had better, but this one isn’t too bad.
3.3 On tap, poured clear deep gold hue w/ small white head. Moderate bready aromas. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a light bitter finish. Tastes are white bread, squash, and straw. Light bodied, creamy mouthfeel, and clean finish.
3.2 Tap, pours a golden color with a white head, sweet taste of malt, banana, and some spice, drinks smooth, decent Belgian ale (Yard House listed this as Uinta House White Ale but after researching the brewer’s website, I figured this was the beer)
2.8 bottle. nose has some apple and cherry esters. pours with almost no head. taste is super sweet candy and reminds me of salt water taffy. a light hop bitterness helps dry it out. a moderate alcohol warming as well. tolerable, but not a beer I would seek out again. seems a little messy and sweet with almost not carbonation for a Belgian style beer.
3.1 Fizzy yellow beer comes to mind at first appearance. Spicy yeast aroma and grainy malts. Body is light and peppery with a malt forward finish.
2.5 Aroma of hops, mild citrus. Taste follows that on a lower level. Smooth with mild carbonation and bitterness. Not bad but there’s nothing that makes it stand out.
3.5 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy dark yellow, very light orange. Almost no head or lace. Smells vaguely fruity. Taste is a surprise, apricot maybe? It’s got a good flavor. A little too fizzy for my tongue, but tasty. I’d get it again.
3.4 Enjoyed this brew. Poured nice with good aroma and appearance to go along with a crisp taste.
4.2 Poured from a bottle into a tulip glass at 50 F. Best if drank by date of March 2014. Poured with thick white head that settled into a thin ring at the edge. Very yeasty aroma immediately after pouring with sweet, pilsner grain and little earthy hop notes later on. Lacing diminished quickly. Color was light gold and a bit cloudy (chill haze?). Apparent pils maltiness and sweetness with moderate earthy hop and low spicy flavor. Honey and a bit warm from alcohol on the finish. A little too sweet and yeasty for me but good on the style. Medium high carbonation went away quickly. I will drink another...cheers!
2.9 draft at Blue monk, light blonde yellow pour, lighter bodied. light fruitiness lies underneath a small nonexistent aroma. sweet flavor, wet cardboard, light white wine notes, spree candy tartness. Meh
3.2 Poured from s bottle it is a cloudy golden beer with a slight head. The aroma is of apticots and bubblegum. The taste has strong flavors of vanilla that redonates on the palate
3.2 From a 12 oz bottle shared in Avon NC. Pours a hazy gold with a thin off white head. Aroma of tropical fruits. Malty backbone with some vanilla and spice flavors. Medium bodied, high carbonation, crisp finish.
3.3 Live rate. Bottle from Margaritaville, The Strip, NV, drank at The New Penguin, LE10. Warm orange gold with a fine slim cap. Nose of peppery Belgian esters and parsley hop. Decent enough MOR Belgian flavour with wine gum, white pepper, banana and tomato juice hits. Authentic and pretty tasty.
3.3 Bottle. Clear golden amber color, medium white head. Aroma of light citrus, subtle banana. Taste has subtle funk, moderate sweetness.
3.0 12 oz. bottle from Julio’s liquors. Paid $2.69 before Wild 6 discount. Best before 09/22/2013, just in time! HA! Cloudy gold in color with lasting soapy head. Aroma of corn, straw and grain. Belgian yeast is light, main body of this brew is grain. More notes of straw and corn. Lighter in body with a effervescent mouthfeel.
3.5 Location/Date:Bottle on September 8th, 2013. Appearance: Pours an orange semi opaque. Aroma: Aroma of light citrus and yeast. Taste: Orange, light bitterness, faint wheat, light yeast. Palate:Light body, covers alcohol well. Summary: A very solid example of what a Belgian blonde can be. Nice balance, accessible and hits the right notes.
4.0 A total surprise! A very nicely done attempt at the Belgian style. Very interesting palate with a beautiful finish. Nice and earthy. The Aroma is fascinating. Seems there are some masterful brewers in Utah. I’ve been impressed by every Utah beer I’ve tried and this one is somewhat of a cut above. Very nice!
