3.1 Rating #1958 2015.09.26 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 3, Beer 58 Draught at TapHouse Grill Seattle. Clear copper-amber pour, that produces a decent bubbly foam Aroma is potent, quite a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg, toasted cardamom. Taste is malty, more of a brown ale style and heavy on the cardamom and clove, hint of cinnamon, and sweet caramel, faint noble hoppy bitterness. This is a pretty good seasonal, and one of the better pumpkin beers out there.
3.3 12 oz can poured into a Belgian snifter. A- slightly hazy dark amber color with a short, light tan head soon becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a very thin, partial surface coat. S- Usual pumpkin spices of clove and nutmeg with a little vanilla and caramel. Flavor: more malt forward and less spiced than the aroma suggests. Starts sweet but ends up with a mild bitterness. M- Smooth. medium-full body leaning toward the fuller side. Medium carbonation. O- Tasty; spicy but not over-spiced.
3.1 pours a clear golden amber. Aromas of all spice, nutmeg, a touch of pumpkin. Nice spicy taste with pumpkin notes.
2.8 Cloudy, red orange with a yellow orange head. Smells of clove, nutmeg, light pumpkin notes. Some bitterness, deeper sweetness. Medium heavy body, chewy, slight acidity. Fine.
2.9 Can. Pours a medium caramel, slightly hazy with a boozy head. Aromas light canned pumpkin, light caramel, slight grass, slight pepsi, and slight clove. Flavors light caramel, slight pumpkinish (?), light clove, light grass. Light to medium sweet and light all around. Not much going on with this.
2.6 1st rating 1/4/2016: This was alright. Not bad at all. Nice easy to drink pumpkin ale. Not overly spicy with cinnamon/nutmeg/allspice flavor but yet still had some good pumpkin feel. Crisp and clean on the palate. 2nd rating 10/11/2016: I get the nutmeg flavor and some other spices- a tad bit of allspice, maybe some ginger and cinnamon. But the pumpkin just isn’t there enough to warrant the "Punk’n" title nor have a pumpkin on the label. Not sweet at all. Some mild bitterness. Crisp drink.
3.3 Can. Semi hazy amber beer with a large beige head. Aroma is spicy with notes of caramel, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Flavor is malty with notes of caramel, bread, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and dried fruit. A bit too sweet.
3.3 12oz can. Pours slightly hazy burnt orange in color. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, pumpkin, bread. Flavor of nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin. A decent beer, flavors are good, but nothing that stands out. I will say that this is a pumpkin beer that you could actually have more than one as the spices are more muted and not overwhelming.
3.5 This tends to fall more toward the "forgettable pumpkin beer" end of the pumpkin beer spectrum. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, and Uinta is a great company, but I couldn’t pick this out of a lineup of pumpkin beers if you told me one of them, like, killed my uncle Ben or something.
3.6 Sweet, malty aroma with a bit of wood and vegetality in the background. Slightly hazy pumpkin orange color with a small but persistent white head. The flavor is more light amber ale than a pumpkin ale, but there is a slight hint of sweet pumpkin in the taste. Body is thin but with a light vanilla creaminess. I don’t detect any "pumpkin spice" here, although. there’s a note of dried leaves in the middle that’s really nice. A nice, tasty autumn seasonal ale.
3.4 Draught at Sweet Cheeks, late Summer 2015. Clear, soft peachy-gold body is topped by a white head with moderate retention. Vanilla, light cinnamon and pumpkin meat in the nose is dotted with brown sugar, toasted malt and lots of bread. Straightforward roasted pumpkin meat flavor, replete with ample but not overdone sugars and a good restraint on the spicing. Toasted baguette, buttercream and an ample carbonation provide a pretty balanced backing to the pumpkin. Nothing terribly out-of-the-ordinary, but definitely above average in the pumpkin beer category, in my book.
2.9 Pours orange with a thick white head. Favors pumpkin spice over balance. The bready malt base is disguised by the overwhelming sweetness.
2.7 (tap) clear bright orange colour with a medium tall beige head; faint aroma of spice; weak, dryish balanced flavour with a long light bitter finish
3.0 Same weird Windex flavor as the Blue Moon version. Not so good. ---Rated via BeerBuddy for iPhone.
2.9 Bottle. Hazy orange amber pour with a small creamy head. Soft pumpkin pie spices on the nose with just a hint of cardboard coming in. Palate is a little thin, and it’s very light on flavor. Just okay.
3.7 Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear light amber color. The head is small and white. The aroma is of light pumpkin and spice. The flavor is rather weak regarding pumpkin. I have had better from Unita.
3.2 I’m always skeptical of fruit & spiced beers but this is a nice change of pace. Pours an expected orangish amber, with a creamy thich slightly off white head. Wonderful pumpkin pie aromas with the taste being lighter than the aroma. I was hoping for a thicker body, but its still well done and the flavors still shine. The aroma & appearance are the winning factors here.
4.1 This is my new favorite of the category. While I enjoy the extremes of the over-the-top flavors of Southern Tier to the very subtle Dogfish offering, this really nails the essence of the style. Pours orangish amber. with think white skim and some lace. Aroma are not just standard pumpkin pie spices, but also actual pumpkin and a nice bready malt. I can tell this is beer - unusual in the punkin crowd these days. The flavors only reinforce the aroma, with a very smooth malty backbone, real pumpkin taste, and only mild accompaniment of spices. Finish is clean. Very drinkable. Most of the style I can only have one. This is good.
3.0 12 oz can pours an amber color with a small white head. Aromas of pumpkin, spice, malt. Medium bodied, nice pumpkin beer
3.2 Can while handing out candy. Caramel pour with a tan head. Aroma is pumpkin, little spices. Taste is malt, pumpkin, spices, nothing overbearing. Well balanced. Tasty beer.
3.8 Bottle. Cloudy orange in Color with hardly any head. Aroma is pumpkin spice. Taste is roasted pumpkin and pumpkin spice.
3.8 Pours orange, light tan head. Aroma of clove and nutmeg. Taste has enough sweet malt to balance the spice, and noticeable real pumpkin. Very little hop bitterness though. Not a bad pumpkin beer.
3.1 Bottle. It poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma was of pumpkin, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste was similar to the aroma with more caramel malts and some vanilla followed by cinnamon and nutmeg. Tasty.
3.4 Bottle at America on Tap Cloudy light golden color. Huge pumpkin pie spice in the aroma and flavor. Light bready malt and brown sugary sweetness to counter. Not the worst spiced beer I had.
3.1 Bottle to a tulip. Amber orange with thin head. Roasted pumpkin and spice on the nose and palate. Nice seasonal ale.
2.5 Sampled from the bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with an off white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of musty grain and biscuit with pumpkin spice underlying. Flavor has lots of earthy grain and biscuit with a touch spice.
3.1 bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear, medium/dark amber color, beige head cover, lots of lace dots. Taste is malt with hay, very light nutmeg, and only a hint of bitter pumpkin. The overall impression is of raw, un-milled grain, giving a pleasant, unrefined character. Interesting.
2.6 Poured from bottle into pint glass, clear light orange with a moderate head. Smelled of pumpkin pie spices. Mild taste of cinnamon cloves and maybe nutmeg. Tasted watered down with thin carbonation and a metalic aftertaste.
2.9 Good brown color rich. Mild spice aroma. It has a wheaty beer flavor and not too much pumpkin flavor.
3.1 Can. Pours an orange color with white head. Pumpkin, peppery, spicy aromas. Pumpkin, malty sweet, veggie flavors. Slight bitter finish. Alright, but nothing much
