Uinta Sum'r Summer Ale

Uinta Sum'r Summer Ale

Appealing Sorachi hops, an uncommon hop from Japan, balanced with lighter malts. Citrusy, fresh, clean. Sum’r Organic Summer Ale pairs well with summer. It is an easy companion to most foods on the summer grill, such as chicken, fish, and burgers. Pairs well with curries and spicy foods. Try it with sushi!

2.9 Pours light, clear, and golden with a quickly dissipating head. Nose has notes of grass, hay and farmland. Taste is bubbly upfront, with a malty, grassy middle and a citrus hops finish. On the palate this beer is bubbly and playful with a malty aftertaste. This beer is one of the better "summers" I have had and could be very sessionable.
2.8 Bottle. Golden with two finger head. Extremely bland with some herbal spice. Doesn’t go anywhere.
3.2 4oz draft at Spacebar. Hazy yellow with bare white head. A: faint citrus, wheat, hops. T: bittersweet citrus hops, grains, grass. Mild and drinkable.
2.7 This pours a semi-cloudy yellow color with a thick, frothy head. The aroma is weaker with a hint of wheat and citrus. The flavor is on the weak side, not a whole lot going on. Very smooth and easy drinking though. I would have figured a craft beer like this would have more flavor.
3.2 Aroma: wheat and herbs. Appearance: hazy straw color, nicewhite head. Taste: medium herbal bitterness, DMS, wheat, dry. Palate: low body and medium carbonation, herbal finish. Overall: Just like a kolsch, but drinkable.
2.9 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold color with a head white. Aroma is a weak citrus hop with some malt in the background. Light body, taste continues with the hops and malt theme. Finish is clean. Not bad.
2.9 Disappointingly average. Weak in flavor, lightweight, bordering on sour. Nothing really memorable, except note to self: Do not buy again.
2.7 Bottle. Light to moderate grain for the malt, light herbs for the hops, with a hint of faint peach in the background. Head is small, frothy, white with spotty lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is pale yellow amber. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly acidic. Palate is light, watery, with a lively carbonation. A drinkable Golden Ale, but nah.
3.4 This one is a good summer time ale I enjoyed it. Pours nice golden color is smooth easy to drink, would recommend.
3.0 Can consumed in Denver with willyP and wanderkate. Golden in color with a hoppy aroma. Taste has a slight grain and earthy note but feels right on a hot summer day. Mild citrus and hops are the primary flavor features. Little bit of bitterness towards the end but overall a dependable if not overly impressive low alcohol variety.
3.3 Poured a golden color with aromas of light yeast and hay with some light summer hops. Flavors match the aromas decent but mediocre.
2.6 Sampled at the 2015 Joplin Pints ’n Paws Mac-Fest beerfest. Kind of dirty and earthy in both aroma and flavor. Not a fan of blond ales of this variety. Would like more fruit to balance out. Still drinkable, though.
2.8 One of the most mediocre beers I’ve had from Uinta. Crisp, but with a sharp and somewhat stale hop character. Maybe I just don’t like Sorachi....
3.1 Hazy golden with medium white head. Aroma is grainy malt, floral, herbal spicy yeast. Light sweet maltiness with some light fruity flavors. Finishes with herbal yeastiness.
2.8 Pours a very pale gold-- almost green. Very vigorous carbonation. Giant rocky white head that dissipates to leave massive and intricate lacing. Nose is pretty boring-- faint grassy hops and pale malt. Bit of yeast. Taste is a bit better, but not by much. Pilsner-like quality to the hop profile. A bit of metal. Some crackery malt. Very light bodied. Hops are pretty subdued. Almost a dry ginger ale type quality to this beer. Unfulfilling and a bit rough. Finishes slightly astringent with a malt emphasis. Not great.
2.3 Pours a thin head on a clear light straw body. The aroma is faint to non-existent... a little grain. The taste is mild grain and lemon bitterness. Watery. The texture is crisp. Super easy drinker ’cause it’s like water.
3.1 From a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a carbonated straw with slight head. Skunky nose. Very mild taste. Somewhat of a wheaty taste with slimy mouth feel. Somewhat surprising compared to the nose. Not Jesus, not Judas, nor a Belgian ale.
2.5 Can. Pours a clear yellow color with white head. Grain, pils, slight metallic aromas. Grainy, slight soap, slight metallic flavors. Meh
3.5 The Sampler, Brooklyn can: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is butterscotch, fruity. Taste is light and hoppy at the top, but then the finish is all sorachi ace influenced butterscotch type flavors. Very nice and refreshing. I am not a huge fan of this varietal but this was good.
3.1 Bottle from Nikki’s Liquors. Clear golden - yellow pour with a rocky white head. Kind of bright, really. Aroma is mild grass, spice, biscuit. A bit of a sharp grassy bite early on taste that fades to a fairly smooth finish.
3.5 Pours light clear golden yellow with a white head. The aroma has cereal grains, mild sweetness, some floral hops, pale malt and a bit of bread. It has a medium / light crisp body with a mild amount of carbonation. The flavor starts out with pale pils-like malt, spicy hops, grass and snappiness. The finish is clean and refreshing. Nice summer beer for a hot day.
2.4 Refreshing easy drinking beer low on aromas and flavors. Ultimately too close to water but a superior alternative to all the big brand light beers.
3.9 Light beer with small head and fresh aroma. This is a great beer when its hot out and your sitting by the pool.
3.6 12 oz. bottle Chalice Best by 07/26/15 A: A hard pour yields a pale yellow beer with a half inch head of white fading to a pillow in the center of the glass. Crystal clear. Busy carbonation S:Crackers and grass. Very light smell. T: Light tasting sharp cracker malt flavor with a juicy hop backup. Light in flavor also but great balance and light, crisp, tasty and refreshing. M: Snappy crisp bite and sparkly light body mean this is made for drinking in quantity. Very clean and finishes tart and dry. O: A nice low ABV surprise. I can see myself tearing through quite a few of these in the coming months. Nicely priced at $9/6 means a must try. Oh and extra respect for USDA Organic Certification.
3.1 Aroma: Lemony and lightly floral hop with lean hay malt bill. Appearance: Well carbonated pale yellow body with a frothy white head that settles into a bubbly skin. Flavor: Lemony/floral notes up front with a very compact dry hay character; the finish is mostly dry with some lemon peel. Palate: Light body, sticky texture, lively carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: A simple summer drinker, which seems to be what was intended. A good gateway for macro drinkers, I’d wager.
2.7 Bottle, overdue (best before 08/25/14) -- we’ll see how it holds up. Nose is lemony citrus, pale malt; pretty clear Sorachi contribution even yet, but some herbal mace/thyme/rosemary character that I don’t like -- like sticking your head into the spice rack. Pours pale, cloudy dull yellow with plenty of carbonation and a dense, rocky bright white head. Thin body is a wee bit metallic, semi-dry with only very light bitterness, mild citrus and mild bread, juice squeezed from pale malt. Lightly herbal with spice, e.g., presumed coriander, but still clean and refreshing. Hope to give it another shot when fresh. [2015.03.29:2.7]
3.0 Pale yellow pour with white head. Aroma is light sweet malt/, biscuit. Taste is lemon citrus, light malt, a little doughy. S0-so lacing. OK beer.
3.2 Can in Moab. Light yellow white wine colored pour, with a white head. Nose? What nose? Little bit of biscuit, little bit of pear. Mild cracker malts mingle with a orchardy hop that, now that I see it is in there, is recognizably Sorachi. (I guess that means it’s not recognizable. Oh well.) There’s not a heck of a lot going on here, but it’s a pleasant easy drinking low ABV beer that is super clean. I like their pairing suggestions; I’d much prefer this to e.g. a Japanese premium lager any time. Again, no reason to hate.
3.3 Can shared by Dan. Pours golden with white head. Taste is grassy hop with some pilsiner
2.7 Bière assez légère, avec des notes de citron et un peu herbacée. Elle manque un peu d’alcool à mon goût pour avoir une plus grande longueur en bouche.
