3.3 F: big, white, not good retention. C: orange to gold, hazy. A: malt, orange peels, citrus, earthy, hint of spicy. T: malt, coriander, orange peels, creamy mouthfeel, yeasty, candy, fruity esters, peach, medium body, normal carbonation, more ale than saison style, but sure there are Belgian features, quite good, 341ml bottle from Eat Brussels 2016 festival.
2.4 Pours cloudy yellow gold with a white head. Aroma is orange peel and lemon. Taste is sour with a light creamy feel. Not bad but not my favorite from this brewery
3.5 Bottle, 341mL. Home. A yellow orange opaque beer ; fizzy ; big white foamy head ; good retention retention. Biscuit, herb, spice (clove), citrus, flower. Medium sweet, round, light dry bitter refreshing ; lacing acid note. Light body, thin silky texture, good carbonation, sweet spicy dry finish. Overall, enjoyable ; herbal, refreshing ; nice label.
3.3 Bottle from saveur-biere. Hazy gold color. Thin white head. Medium sweetness. Light bitterness. Aroma is malty, fruity.
3.3 A murky, light yellow beer, a head is big and white. Strongly aromatic nose and quite unique. Strong flowerness, coriander, some honey and spices. Taste has flowers, spicyness of ginger and coriander. Medium bodied, strong carbonation, refreshning. Belgian ale with the strong flowers and spices. Decent.
3.2 Final bottle pull from 6-pack sampler at LCBO. Going through these 6 beers has been an interesting study - ahem, yes, cough, drinking beer is um yeah research - in the Unibroue stable. There’s a lot of sameness in their stable of beers (I.e. the yeast & spicing) that while is distinct & satisfying does get a little tired. This is the lesser of the six beers, but stil a decent refreshing beervv
3.5 Bottle. Has nice aromas of citrus. Pours a cloudy pale with white head. Has a light sour taste. Light to medium body with a somewhat creamy texture. A nice refreshing brew.
3.3 330ml bottle served in a pint glass. A: Pours a cloudy golden yellow color forming a medium to low light and fizzy white head. Medium to low retention and practically no lacings left in the glass. S: Sweet, grainy and very fruity. Strong notes of peach and pear. Caramel malts. Notes of honey. Spicy hints. Wheat. Flowery hops. T: Slightly sweet upfront. Notes of peach, pear, grapefruit, orange zest, caramel malts, wheat and honey. Unibroue bready yeasts. Spicy and metallic hints. Light hops bitterness. Grassy and bit citrus hops profile. Slightly sour finish. M: Light body. Low carbonation. Smooth texture. Sweet, malty and fruity aftertaste. Medium persistence. O: Good drinkability. Strong Unibroue character. Good.
4.0 Unibroue is basically a Belgian stronghold in Canada. All of the beers I have had from them are delicious and hearkens back to my time spent in Brussels. This pale straw coloured beaut proffers up titillating notes of fresh orange, lemon zest, coriander, light crushed pepper, mild basement funk and a hint of cereal. If refreshing thirst destruction if what you crave than look no further, B de C holds it in spades. Shades of background tartness and spices keep this intriguing, well worth the price of admission.
3.0 Bottle 341ml @ Hotel Room, Hotel Lord Berri, Montréal, QC Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast and dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long fruity and yeasty finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
2.9 Bottle. An almost clear one, golden-orange in color, topped by a small, white head. The aroma is on the fruity side, almost like canned tropical fruits, with some sugary notes. It’s medium bodied and semi-dry, with a smooth carbonation. Fruity, sugary flavor with a decent bitterness and a grassy, piney hop touch. Lasting fruity-sugary finish. Sure drinkable and all that, but rather boring, and far from the best from this brewery. 150612
3.5 Tap at saint bock. Golden with small head. Banana and clove. Light pepper. Easy drinking and well balanced.
3.3 Leftovers from a recipe I’m cooking up for tomorrow. Pours a moderately hazy golden with a small white head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of herbs and grass, pils and fruits. Taste is pretty dry and gently bitter. Flavors include cereals, fruits and some pepper. Body is light and carbonation high. Overall a fine belgian ale but not even close to the best in class.
3.4 Single 341 moo bottle from Liquor Depot, served in a nonic pint. Pours a hazy, almost opaque orange-yellow with a crackling, pearly, white cap that leave only a few dots of lace. Aroma is fresh, sweet floral and fruity citrus hops with strong hints of banana on a light base of wheaty malt. Flavor is hops, malt, and banana in a three-way dance of sorts. The body is interesting, being slightly thick and rather creamy, and finishes well, save for an odd heat note down the esophagus. I suppose if this has banana esters, there’s got to be some level of clove spice as well. A refreshing, satisfying golden ale, and one of my favorite Unibroue offerings to date.
3.0 Bottle @ Home. Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of wheat, grass, light spice. Flavor is wheat, yeast, grassy, light spice, nelliker, coriands. Medium body, lively carbonation. 180910
3.1 Pour is cloudy golden with a fizzy white cap that disappears in an instant. Nose is a lot of bread dough/yeast, with very faint lemon and floral notes in the background. Taste is a little less yeast-dominant, with a dry finish that’s kinda pleasant, but overall it’s pretty boring.
3.8 Cloudy coat of a dark golden tone with a thick creamy head. A nice carbonation can be spotted through the glass. For the nose,it lets loose scents of lemongrass, fresh fruit and hops. The taste is bold with the lemongrass and hops with a nice sharpness. Very nice full-bodied ale! Make sure to get the lees trapped at the bottom to enjoy it at its best.
2.4 This blond poured an amber colour with a white head. Scents include urine, spices, yeast and malt. First swig was thin with medium carbonation. Flavours of yeast, spice and malt. Finish is wheat flavoured with lingering malt.
3.6 Hazy golden color with a medium white head. very high carbonation in this one. floral and lemony aromas followed with the typical Belgian yeast. taste is dough and sweet floral notes and then comes a malty/yeasty/hoppy delicate finale.it really has a unique flavor among unibroue’s beer, reminds me a bit of La Gaillarde...
3.4 Aroma at uncorking was fresh baked bread and yeast. After pouring the yeast and spice aromas were more present, likely from the sediment. Flavour is very similar to Unibroue’s Tripel, lots of yeast and spices, but more mild and less hazy due to having almost 1/2 the abv %.
3.5 (bottle) hazy golden amber colour with a medium tall white head; aroma starts sour, then stewed fruit, spice; blanced and refreshing flavour
3.8 Dark yellow pour with a little bit of haze. Earthy, somewhat spicy nose. Some fruit, apricot and peach. Medium bodied and good finish.
3.4 Golden colour, aroma of orange and floral notes. Taste holds notes of coriander, orange, citrus and light floral notes.
3.2 750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber colour with a medium white head. Aroma has notes of fruit and yeast. Sweet flavour with fruit, caramel, citrus, spice and a dry, yeasty finish. Medium body with watery texture and soft carbonation.
