3.7 Bottle from Broue Ha Ha. Pours a clear yellow with a good amount white foamy head that dissipates slowly and lots of active carbonation. Smell is fairly sweet, with caramel, but has some hoppy floral hints as well that make a somewhat apple smell. Palate is medium bodied with a whole lot of carbonation. Taste is sweet at first but then gets balanced by some good bitterness while still leaving the sweetness on top. Aftertaste is somewhat sweet and somewhat bitter. Very good!
4.0 Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a hazy straw color with a white head of foam. Aroma has a nice citric acidity lightly in the background behind its peppery forefront. Taste is a nice Belgian sugary pep and a touch of fruity acidity in the finish. Pretty nice beer.
3.4 I’ve had this twice and rated it neither time. The first time I knew I had another bottle and the second time I assumed I rated it the first time. It’s a Unibroue and I remember it fitting that bill to a “T”. Nothing exiting with their yeast up front, prominent and over-powering as usual. While it wasn’t bad, it felt and tasted like almost every-other Unibroue with minor tweaks.
3.8 Thought this was a really good belgian golden. Well balanced, slightly fruity, good champagne yeast, dry finish. Another hit from unibroue.
3.8 Location/Date:Bottle on December 30th, 2012 during SNF. HTTR. Appearance: Pours a yellow haze   Aroma: Aroma is malty, fruit.   Taste: Sweet, some fruit, malt laden, no bitterness.     Palate:Medium. Summary: My last rating of the year, so Happy New Year everyone! And for 2012, puts me at 486 ratings. Enjoyed another one from Unibroue, I need to try more of their beers in the new year.
3.9 Pours a clear gold with the barest of heads. Highly bubbly. Smells of white grape, earthy, nuts. Taste is sweet and spicy, hint of bitterness - vanilla, oak, grape. Mouthfeel is highly carbonated like a champagne.
3.6 750ml bottle. Clear pale gold with a faint white head. Nothing too special but then again its still tasty. Typical Unibroue yeast, mild hops with a bit of citrus, wheat, pepper. Moderate body and carbonation, somewhat sweet, like the finish with a bit of dryness.
3.6 Bottle, pours a blonde, aroma is spicey, flavour is nice and spicy as well, also quite floral, overall a tasty brew
3.4 750 ml bottle. Opaque whitish yellow with an okay white head. Smells very spicy, peppery. Tastes like yeast and bread. Very little bitterness, leaves an aqueous, humid feel in the mouth. Medium bodied. Good summer ale.
3.9 Opens with a resounding POP! Pours clear light gold into the glass with a tall, lasting white head that laces nicely. Fruity clean aroma. Very nice. Lightly sweet flavor that follows the fruity aroma. Medium bodied, lively.
3.4 Brian Sucks! .. . Pours a basic brown .. good foam as always from unibro brews .. . light caramel, yeast, and brown yeast .. . a good beer but nothing to astonishing .. . . andy murray just won gold at the olympics...
3.6 Smells yeasty. Pours cloudy blond, like a hefe or triple. Taste has the same yeast profile as a lot of Unibroue beers, I guess it’s the "on lees." These lees leave a bit of cloying sourness at the end which takes away from the overall beer, but otherwise it’s decent, enjoyable. Big points for low price, in Quebec at least. Bottle from Peluso.
3.6 750 ml bottle 2008? Pours hazy bright gold/orange with a lively carbonation and a thin tight film. Aroma has a strong hay/grass scent along with subtle yeast and mild sweetness. Taste is good malt sweetness some yeast and mild funk/fruitiness and spice. Palate is clean crisp and shows (at times) some heaviness and finishes chalky and dry. Drinks well and is pretty enjoyable and mellow.
3.4 22nd November 2009 ChrisOs Kook Tasting. hazy gold beer. Light suddy white head. Light crisp palate with a soft edge. Light sweet malt with light orange and peach. Hangs together well. Finishes soft and dry.
4.2 Poured from a corkedand caged 750ml bottle into a Duvel tulip, bottled in 2008. A: Hazy golden/amber body with a dense and thick white head, lots of fine carbonation bubbles from the nucleation point. S: Very clean aroma, though a tad faint, I am picking up some citrus or lemons, banana and clove hiding beneath the head. Some other fruits are coming through, this has a fruity aroma for sure, a tad sweet. T: Slight lemon and grape with some caramel and honey upfront but the yeast takes over with a strong banana flavor, mild cloves. A chalky yeast aftertaste lingers with some pear flavors. M: Creamy and fizzy, this beer still has solid carbonation. O: The yeast is certainly dominating this at this point, but there’s still great complexity to this and a lot to pick out. I am enjoying this, though beware the cork comes out with some spunk.
3.8 750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 2008 presumably. Pours hazy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger foamy white head with ok retention, that reduces to lacing ring that lingers. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big grape, apple, pear, apricot, pepper, floral, clove, lemon, caramel, honey, herbal, earth, and yeast spices. Nice and well balanced aromas with good complexity. Taste of grape, pear, apple, apricot, pepper, biscuit, floral, clove, caramel, yeast spices, and slight butterscotch. Lingering notes of apple, apricot, grape, pepper, clove, biscuit, and caramel on the finish for a good bit. Nice flavor balance with good complexities. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a fairly slick and slightly creamy mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well hidden, with hardly any warming present after the finish. Very smooth to sip on as well. Overall this is a very nice Belgian strong pale ale. Nice complexity and flavor balance; and extremely smooth to sip on.
3.7 750ml bottle, 2008 vintage: This one pours a hazy golden color. There was an inch of a dense, white foam on top. No lacing. This one has a nice nose. Yeasty, bready, wheat and peppery spices are the main ones. Maybe a touch of lemon and banana also. The taste is quite good. Medium to full bodied, yet an almost lighter feel to the taste. Touch of lemon, peppery spice, wheat, yeastiness. Another nice beer from them.
3.9 This brew pours a pale golden color with a smaller head than I would expect from the style considering the vigerous pour. The smell is largely of cloves and spice with some yeasty tones as well. The clove is defintely the first flavor the hit the palate and slowly melds into yeasty fruit. A pleasant brew to drink overall, but a bit one-dimentional for the style. I expected a bit more from this brew. It was very easy to tell that this one comes from Unibroue in terms of it’s flavor profile. That being said, I have had better from this brewery but this one is definitely woth a shot.
2.8 Bottle shared by kevinsenn. 100% Belgian flavour. Pours a very hazy LIGHT yellow. Aroma a bit yeasty, characteristically Belgian. Has that nice round palate that a good Belgian has. Mild sourness with a lightly savoury element. Richness of flavour comes out if you havent been eating something sweet. Not a stellar example for Unibroue, but a nice enough beer in its own right.
3.2 750mL bottle from Broue Ha Ha shared with toffsbury. Pours hazy pale yellow with a small white head. Spicy yeasty aroma reminiscent of a tripel. Dry taste with peach and grapes, some spice in the end. Feels very flat on the tongue. My wife says it tastes vinegary, and I agree.
3.8 750ml corked bottle pours a golden orangeish color with a huge white head that settles slowly leaving some thin lacing on the glass. Aromas of light fruits and yeast with some spice. Taste is light fruity sweetness with some malty sweetness as well. Also, some yeast and spice notes and little hop character. Very well carbonated and medium bodied leaving a nice tingle on the tongue. Quite tasty and definitely high quality.
3.5 Pale golden pour thin white head .... aroma is of fruity yeast (peaches) and clove ... tastes is of fruity yeast (peaches), little spicy and peppery with light clove, light candi sugar and some caramel malts .... very balanced finish is dry and fruity little grainy .... aged well was happy to find this one still around
2.4 #1094 Bottle; Nose is sweet banana, hay, barn yard, little sour hops, feel is mediumweak, carb is medium, taste is decent dry lemon, little rose petals, mediumsour malt, fruity and fresh hops
3.6 Bomber. Pours hazy gold with thin white head. Aroma is yeast, spice and apple. Flavor is the same. Nice but unspectacular.
4.0 Another great Unibroue beer, with their characteristic taste. A light, playful beer with notes of fruit and spice. Highly enjoyable.
3.9 bottle (approx 3 years old) - Pours cloudy gold with a thin white head. The aroma is of yeast, fruit, and spices. It’s a gently carbonated brew with sweet malt, vague but tasty fruity tones, and spicy yeast. This brew is holding up well so far. Tasty.
3.0 Bottle. Light golden, hazy, very small and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty - wheaty and sweetish aroma, some fruitiness and citrus, faint spiciness, yeast. Body is medium, malty - wheaty and sweetish flavor, some fruitiness and citrus, yeast. Finish is average, malty - wheaty and lightly sweetish, some fruitiness and citrus, some alcohol. Sweetish wheaty strong ale - OK but nothing special.
