Unibroue Seigneuriale

Unibroue Seigneuriale

Beautiful orangey-amber colour, with a generous head. Very effervescent.

Notes of citrus, spices, caramel in the nose. Very complex. Sometimes vanilla.

Full bodied and complex, sweet, followed by and explosion of flavours.

Clearly the best.

3.8 Pours a hazy deep copper topped a roughly structured tanned head showing nice retention and lacing properties. Carbonation is moderate. The nose is surprising. Caramel/toffee paired with clovy and spicy features with a certain fruity and earthy aspects from Unibroue’s signature yeasts. The taste brings the elements in the nose through a medium body and a light finish. Overall pertty good so if get a chance to spot give it a try. Cheers!
4.2 750ml bottle 7.5% ABV RBC Plaza Outlet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) July 2, 2013 The beer pours a slightly hazed brownish=-red coloiur with a generous rocky tan coloured head. Aroma is yeast, dark fruits, caramel, and spices. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavour is sweet malt, fruity, and yeast. A very good beer.
3.0 Dark flavor smell...plum...but off ...taste is of plum..too sweet...nothing beside sweetness...meh
4.0 750ml cork/caged bottle - This one didn’t take much time at all for the cork to blow off my bottle, so it must have been building up some serious pressure for it to blow like that. The aroma is pretty much spot on for all of Unibroue’s belgian beers, apple juice/cider, caramel chews, all-spice, plummy..love it. Flavor is really strong with an earthy note that I get from Trois Pistoles, huge notes of dark fruit, light toffee, brandy, with a light chocolate/vanilla like finish. Really nice and I’m glad I let this one sit for awhile.
2.9 This is a really unique, slightly sour beer. I like it a lot. Great with cheese!
3.9 Bottle shard with friends. Nose is light Belgian yeast, citrus, tons of toffee and caramel. Pour is cloudy, murky, brown. Flavor is sweet toffee and caramel with a hint of fruitiness. Very nice and different from the typical Unibroue.
3.5 Aroma has some floral notes and some spiciness. Some alcohol smells and fruitiness can be detected aswell. The taste is very sweet with a bitterness on the end. Some sweet belgian sugar notes are here too. The appearance is a cloudy yellow/gold with a nice lace head .
3.7 750ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy honey colour with a two finger creme coloured head. From the nose, it is indeed a Unibroue product. The Unibroue yeast is up front with light strawberry jam notes, dark bread, citrus, and spice. Taste is sweet with mineral notes, light raspberry jam, spice, and dark bread up front that leads into some alcohol burn, dark rye crisps, and light sponge toffee in a mineral heavy, bread crust-like bitter finish. It’s tasty stuff, but it’s a little too sweet. Small complaint though. More great stuff from Unibroue.
3.7 February 1, 2014. 750mL bottle from LCBO. Characteristic Unibroue aroma and flavour. Biscuits, bit of citrus, touch of caramel. Lovely brown colour with white head that dissipated quickly. Pretty good. Not my favourite from Unibroue.
3.3 A beautiful hazy orange and golden body with a fizzy off white head. The nose is citrusy and estery with light notes of banana, cloves and apples. Mild toasted malts with a light crisp mouthfeel. The finish is moderate and a bit bland with a tad of Belgian flavour. Overall, a good brew but a bit bland.
3.3 really noticed the assorted citrus. Kind of malty during the aftertaste. Better than most from unibroue but not a standout
3.7 Pours a nice hazy orange colour with a foamy white head. Aroma is yeasty, esters, grain, biscuit, floral hops, spice. The flavour more or less suit, heavy on the bread and grain notes, mixed with some spice, and orange citrus hops. Not bad, but there are better options.
3.1 341ml bottle. Clear copper-amber body, small white head, average retention. Aroma of spices and Unibroue yeast, caramel, honey, citrus and some booze. Harsh taste: caramel, yeast, spices, herbal hops, booze. Oily. Slightly disappointing.
3.7 750 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a stem glass. Pours hazy orange with a moderate tan head that remains and laces well. The nose has flowers, spice, caramel, fruit and that typical Unibroue yeast aroma. The flavour is moderately sweet with caramel, fruit and vanilla, along with a moderate amount of Belgian-style spice. Banana comes through. Hops are delicate and unobtrusive but emerge towards the end. The finish is long, malty and spicy with a slight pepperiness. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, syrupy texture and average carbonation. Overall, this is a nice Belgian-style strong ale with a nice fruity character and a beautiful creamy head. 2013-06-18
4.0 Bottle, shared with Parksy and Davey. Hazy light orange-gold with a lively creamy white head. Signature Unibroue yeast in the aroma, which I’ve come to find feels homey after not having had a Unibroue beer for a while. Sweet vanilla biscuits, wheat, honey, light phenolic spiciness. Just what I wanted from this!
3.6 Pours a hazy orange golden color with a pretty decent long lasting bubbly white head. Nose of banana, citrus, pears cloves and other spices and the standard yeast smell. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Taste is a bit sweet with a phenol finish. Great as usual for unibroue.
3.7 750ml brown bottle, corked. Honey gold pour, hazy. Keeps a medium sized white cap, a few patches of lace sticking in the glass. Nose has yeast, honey, biscuity malt, grain, orange, caramel. Taste has bread, grain, sweet malt, citrus notes. Yeast with clove notes, caramel and orangey hops at the end. Medium body with lots of carbonation. Overall a nice beer with some interesting spice notes.
4.5 Unibroue is far and away my favorite brewery in Canada. Being opened by Sapporo doesn’t hurt them in any way. Just awesome in every bottle.
3.9 Entirely Belgian in character, but not what I expected. It’s a blend of styles. The appearance and ABV suggest that it would be similar to a Dubbel, but the flavor has more dark fruits, raisins, and some vanilla. Almost like a lighter-bodied variation of a Quad. Complex and enjoyable.
3.7 Poured from a 750ml bottle into my Chimay glass. Wow, nice aroma. Initital notes are citrus: orange, tangerine and mandarin. Also a good amount of spice. Not too big, but seems like a good amount. Appearance is a good murky burnt orange, with a whitish head that looks like it will last for days. Taste isn’t quite as good as the aroma. The spice comes through in the taste and the aftertaste, but no real distinguishing feature otherwise. It’s good, but not super impressive. Feel is also good, but not really, really full bodied. There’s a nice tingle all the way through, though.
3.5 Pours slightly hazy and orange-amber with very frothy white head. Aroma has strong fruity scents - banana, and spice, and a little musty. Taste is medium sweet with a bit of a tangy finish.
3.6 pours hazy golden orange with a creamy off-white head, good retention and lacing. very spicy and yeasty - unibroue-like (duh), caramel and toasted wheat, bit of honey, coconut and vanilla, bitter herbs, bit of phenols and butter - in a butterscotch manner, hint of acidity, candi and candies (!), warming alcohol. lively to average carbonation, light to medium body- oily, grassy-earthy and astringent finish. nice stuff.
3.4 750 ml corked & caged bottle. Clear first pour, orange copper, foamy off-white head slowly settles and lasts. Yeasty, spicy fruity aroma. Taste is fruity, some citrus and the usual yeast strain, lightly spiced, clove and coriander, light floral hops and some noticeable caramel malt behind. Lively carbonation and lighter bodied. Second pour is hazy with yeast sediment. Another well made fruity Belgian style ale. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)
3.5 Cloudy dark orange with a decent yellowy pale head. Aroma is yeast, candied apple, pear, stone fruit. Slight creamy mouthfeel, medium body, sweet on the palate with a fruity finish. Taste is nectarine, apricot, dried apple, mango. Not bad.
3.2 750 ml bottle. Pours a murky orange-brown with a short lived white head. Aroma is earth, caramel, belgian yeast. Flavor is earthy, toffee, spicy. Finish is sandy, spicy, lemon tartness. Medium body, soft mouthfeel, weak to average carbonation. Good.
3.7 3oz sampler from the Loose Moose in Toronto. Hints of floral and citrus. Reminds me of the dieu du ciel rose d’hibiscus.
3.6 It pours hazy dark rust coloured; the head is bone coloured and mousse-like. The aroma has notes of: cloves, citrus-zest, coriander, pepper, and yeast funk. The taste is medium sour/tart/sweet that finishes medium bitter/astringent; there are notes of: orange-zest, coriander, cloves, pepper, and slight grassy hop tones. The palate is full-bodied, has a huge creamy mouth-feel (heavy carbonation), and a long spicy finish. Overall, quite good.
3.7 Cloudy orange-amber with appreciable carbonation, beige frothy head with no retention. Mild earthy citrus hops, nutty, subtly toasty malts in a musty cloud of pine to the nose. Flavour is fully complex with sweet hints of vanilla, cedar, pear and citrus. Dry yet malty finish. Very lively in mouth from the carbonation. Alcohol present but well balanced with flavours.
