A dark and robust beer brewed in the traditional stout method. Teddy Bear Kisses features an abundance of dark malts and high alpha hops for a powerful impact of roast, chocolate, and sweet bitterness. The lucky few who cuddle up to a warming session with Teddy Bear Kisses sense the velvety malt character, balanced bitter intensity, and soothing chocolate notes created by long aging on fair trade cocoa nibs. Teddy Bear Kisses will make you feel warm and happy inside, but it’s definitely not your childhood cuddle toy.

4.112oz can. Pours an opaque brown-black with a thin tan head that almost immediately fades to a faint ring around the glass. The aroma gives impressions of roasted/dark malts, bitter chocolate, and some sweet-sour aromatics. The flavor is dominated by sweet plum/raisin notes and chocolate, with a long finish featuring a lingering bitter chocolate flavor and a hint of wood. A frothy – but not fizzy – and somewhat oily mouthfeel provides an agreeable complement to the flavors. The beer does not seem have the booziness one might expect of a 10% stout, but it is definitely not a quick drinker... every sip is a delicious reward.
3.512 oz bottle from 2018 pours a black color with a small tan head. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, roasted malt. Huge beer, lots going a great one.
3.7Pours rich coffee with a thick tan head. Aroma yields roast malt, chocolate, coffee and spice. Flavor presents roast malt, mocha and spice, an enjoyable brew. Texture delivers fair body and peppy fizz. Kiss kiss kiss!
4.0On tap at Cap Tap. Pours near black with a thick tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with a very dry chocolate finish. Quite delicious.
3.7Tap at the Moersleutel, Alkmaar. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, liqouirce, orange zest. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, oily, orange citrus, light oily, light boozy palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
3.3Bottle. Black. Chocolate and cacao in the aroma. Full bodied. Malty sweet flavor with pure chocolate. Milky. Raisin. Sticky. Vanilla.
3.7Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, coffee, ash, liquorice, mocha, touch of cold coffee, charcoal. Flavour is medium sweet with a roasty bitterness. Body is above medium. Not the biggest or most complex Imperial Stout, but plenty of roasty chocolate & cofee flavours and a solid bittersweet taste.
3.5Bottle. Pours clear black with a medium, frothy beige head, medium retention. Moderate rich caramel and roast malt, figs, prunes, and dates, light papery oxidation, and a medium dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.
2.9Loads of mouth feel, a bit of hot spice. I’m not getting much malt, hint of chocolate.
3.7Dark black with a quickly fading head. Aromas chocolate, pepper, toffee. Flavors chocolate, toffee, caramel, roasted malt, slight alcohol in nose. Medium to high sweetness and somewhat chewy. Its good but not all that complex in character, nose and palate alike.
3.8Aroma is dark bread, dark malts and milk chocolate. The flavor is dark malts, chocolate and a mix of acidity, slight sweetness and warming alcohol in the finish.
4.3Got this from Kentucky as a four pack. Great balance of thick chewy molasses/licorice with a fair balance of bitterness but not too much. 10% alcohol is there but not offensive. Very little head during the pour, leaving just a trace around the rim afterward. Not getting the cocoa nibs and chocolate as much, mostly molasses/licorice flavor. Mouthfeel is what you'd expect, velvety smooth and somewhat thick. This one is a keeper for me. Wish I could get it in Michigan.
2.012floz bottle, BOD: 09.2017, 10% ABV, $3.25 single, large stem glass. There was some head development on the pour, but it vanishes, leaving just the near black body. The nose has a smoky licorice thing going for it, which I do not find appealing. Tastes like molasses, licorice, light coffee, and smoked wood - in that order of intensity. Texture reflects the heavy dosing of malts - full and roasty, but surprisingly there is little hotness (although the alcohol is definitely there). I will not have this beer again.
4.0Near black pour with thin tan head. Aroma is roast malt and molasses. Taste adds burnt dark chocolate. A little over balanced to the bitter. Good beer.
3.7Nice drinkable imperial stout, with a good hoppy, malt, and chocolate flavor
4.2Nice RIS. Aroma's very rich, roasty, coffee, malty, bit of molasses. Flavor's like nose, very smooth, balanced, yet strong. Excellent body, some booze in the finish but that's okay. Great stuff.
4.0Nitro version on tap at tap room. Nice complex aromas up front, Smokey, coffee, roasted marshmallow. Ebony color with nice dark tan head. Sweet up front, molasses, coffee, dark chocolate, nice blend. Nitro is a nice touch. Nice boozy warming touch on the finish.
3.3[2/3/17] Draught/Bottle at Extreme Beer Fest in Boston. Black. Cocoa, roast, bittersweet, bitter finish, vegetal note, a bit of ash.
4.0EBF 2017. Imperial stout with all of the notes you’d expect -- big flavor, big hop bite, and big, warming alcohol. The cocoa nibs set it apart, though, adding a very strong chocolate flavor. Sweeter and more complex than most imperial stouts I’ve had.
3.4draft that poured a dark brown with off white head. just basically your typical stout. nothing really jumped out on this one. plenty of roasted malts, hints of chocolate. there was a mild bitterness either from the chocolate or the hops or both. overall it was just a decent stout. nothing wrong with it and it is very drinkable.
3.7Pour from a 12oz bottle picked up in WI this weekend. Dark black pour, though not overly thick. Nice chocolate and hoppy nose with some roasted malt. Nice flavor, dry, bitter chocolate with a nice hop character. Cool beer.
3.7aroma of black licorice and some chocolate. flavor is cocoa, sweet, licrorice, and maybe some smoke. thick and milky consistency. pours reddish brown with a reddish tan head. had out of a bottle at home. good beer.
3.9Brown black pour. Nose of cocoa nibs, chocolate liqueur, licorice dark cherry and soft roast. Flavor is more chocolate liqueur, light gritty roast, dark fruit and faint licorice. Lingering roast and bitter chocolate. Chewy mouthfeel. Pretty solid.
3.7On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served displaying a black/brown hue, with a fairly persistent hat of tan froth, and wavy ribbons of lacing. The nose was heavily roasted, cocoa, and malty creaminess, with a slight woody scent. Medium to full bodied, with moderate carbonation, the taste added a touch of dark fruit sweetness, and a roasted, resinous, & earthy bitterness that lingered, finishing with a bit of tartness. An Imperial Stout that was hefty, slightly creamy on the tongue, and hid it’s abv fairly well. Especially suited our present weather condition!
3.3This is a little thinner than I woulda have thought, but still a very good stout regardless.
3.9From 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Black with medium light brown head, chocolate, coco, raisins, molasses. Medium oily body, medium carbonation, medium bitterness. Long cocoa finish, lingers for a while, also some vanilla lingering. Nice beer.
4.1On tap at jerry’s. Midnight black with very little head. Really nice smell, sweetness with some backbone. Molasses. Perhaps served a bit too cold unfortunately. Really nice taste though. Coffee and brown sugar are prevalent. This is very good. I’d recommend.
3.512 oz bottle...black oily pour with minimal head. Roasty nose and taste with a slick body. Nicely balanced bittersweet flavor and a bitter finish.
4.5Very good stout...excellent appearance, taste and aroma. Bitter in the middle with a sweet end comes together nicely. Happy I was able to find it.
