3.2 750 ml bottle shared at Steve’s. Light golden with a thin white head. Wheat, cereals, lightly sour, floral, refreshing. Medium-ish body, creamy carbonation. Lightly tangy, floral, wheat, refreshing; dry, lightly tart, lightly floral finish.
3.6 Bottle shared by Jeff at the Dolphins tailgate. Snifter pour. Light golden yellow with a slight haze. Small head and some lacing. The aroma is light fruits, tartness, cereal, and coriander. The taste is similar with coriander, light floral and fruitiness, cereal, and finishes with a slight salty dryness. Not my favorite gose but certainly drinkable. Moderate carb.
2.5 Pours a mostly clear golde color with minimal head. Lots of light fruit and coriander, big on the coriander, not much tartness at all.
2.9 At tall Matt’s house with Matt, Matt, garrett, and respective chicks. Pours gold clear. huge coriander, some orange, kinda one note, cartoony, overpowering too much coriander, not tart.
3.9 Really nice example of the style. Subtle but complex. restrained funk, frutiness, spices and salt combine to make a wonderfully refreshing tart brew.
3.8 Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle poured into a glass. Hazy light orange with big white head with some staying power. Aroma is coriander, medium/light body, medium carbonation, and good small bubble lacing. Taste is tart, coriander, some yeast, and nice salty finish. Really good gose.
3.4 Bottle shared by Puddintane. Thanks Pud! Clear gold color with a thick white head. Aroma of malt and peach with some tartness and brine. Sweet fruit and estery flavor with a sweet finish.
3.7 Bottle in Bend with my wife. Pour is hazy orange with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Tangy, lemony, biscuit, hibiscus, somewhat salty, and herbal aroma. Taste is sour lemons, salty, herbs, basil, urine and slightly funky with a lightly tart finish. Medium body with soft carbonation. Cool beer.
3.3 Bottle. Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. A little salty, a little tart, some lemon and spice. Nothing outstanding, but not bad at all.
4.0 Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours a clear orange gold with small frothy white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is salt, coriander, and floral. Thin mouthfeel with nice salt, funk, oak. Easy to drink, very good.
3.8 Bottle. Nose is perfumy and tart. Taste is only slightly tart with some citrus character. Really good but not puckering
3.8 Bottle share thanks to Homer321. hazy, light orange color. Tart, sweet, citrusy aroma. Lots of tartness, sweet, fruity, citrusy flavor.
3.2 Earthy, herbal, wheaty, interesting. Surprisingly strong coriander (& thyme?!) presence. Could use a tad more wheat and sourness. Totally different from Westbrook Gose, and my preference is for that brew.
3.6 I believe this is a 2012 bottle. Aroma has a medium citrus note with moderate coriander character. Moderately strong, musty wheat notes. Light tannins and funkiness with a bit of staleness. Pours a surprisingly clear, pale yellow gold with a big, fluffy white head with seemingly never ending retention. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor is moderately musty and funky with medium citrus and coriander. Medium light acidity and light saltiness. Light tannins with moderate red apple cider notes. Faint bitterness. Mouthfeel is light bodied with high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a decent beer, but I think the age has muddled the brightness I would expect in this style of beer. The cider notes are also a bit unpleasant.
3.5 1 finger head, cloudy orange. Coriander dominates the nose. Slightly sweet. Taste is nice. Very wheat heavy. The salt hit at the very end. Sweet and lovely spice. Quite sessionable.
3.4 Bottle, shared with AJ and friend. Pours hazy butterscotch, medium off-white head, dissipates fairly slowly and laces well. Aroma is wheat, lemon, a touch of cardboard. Flavor is wheat, lemon/citrus, a bit of salt, biscuit. Light body, high carbonation. Easy to drink for sure, but not a lot going on here.
3.8 Bottle shared at Ma Che in Roma. Big thanks to Colin for this one! Pours cloudy yellow with a fine, white foam head. Doughy pale malt nose with faint wheat, citrus. Very slight lemony tang in the flavor with more lightly doughy pale bread, wheat. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate sweetness in the finish with simple, doughy pale malts, faint lemon and banana. Very drinkable stuff.
2.5 pours a hazy, straw gold with a little, cloudy white head. Nose is flower petals, honey, a little orange soda, spices. Flavor is herbal, yeast, garlic, limes, spring onions, hay. Medium bodied, salty finish. Odd, but very unique.
3.6 super refreshing beer with a nice mild nip of salt beautiful white lacing very fresh and dry tasting could taste a little bit of some other spice too quite enjoyable
3.3 Aroma: Belgian Yeast, Mild Corriander, Mild Oranges Appearance: Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Some Light, White Head, Some Lacing Taste: Yeasty, Mildly Salty Mouthfeel: Average Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Mildly Salty
3.3 Sampled from a bottle at Where the Wild Beers Are - October 5, 2013. Hazy yellow pour with a huge white head. Sweet and a bit grassy. A little bland, but okay.
3.9 750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber with full head of large bubbles that dissipate quickly. Lots of carbonation. Aromas of citrus, yeast, toasted malts, and coriander. Flavors of wheat, earth, lemons, and coriander. Salty - as expected.
3.4 Backlog of ratings. Thanks to someone at one of bu11zeye’s tastings. The smell is very wheaty, corn, fruits, and cereal. The look is golden in color, has an off white head, and is cloudy. The taste is sweet, fruits, grass, and ok.
3.1 This was missing the salt characteristic that most Gose have. Although still not a bad beer, it just missed the mark for the style.
3.5 Bottle, 750ml. An unclear orange colored beer with a small white head. The aroma is lightly orange fruity, with a spiced touch and some grassy, piney hops. The flavor too is fruity, a tad sweet I think, with some malty hints, coriander and bitterness. Medium body, nicely carbonated. Bitter, fruity finish. A fine brew it is, but more reminiscent of a Belgian blond than a Gose. 130808
3.4 Bottle. Pours golden with a huge white head. Aroma of malt and fruitiness with some yeast and coriander. Flavor is sweet and fruity with some malt, slightly sour and some citrus. Medium body, soft carbonation.
3.5 Bottle 750ml @ Hotel Room, Bay Park Hotel, Monterey, CA Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head, Aroma has notes of malt, wheat, coriander, some fruits and yeast. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long coriander and slightly salt finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
3.4 Murky orange-yellow, with big, frothy, white head, light legs / Moderately sweet & sour, fruity nose of citrus & orchard fruit, grass, grain / Medium body, fat, sweet and fruity, borderline cloying, low hopping, restrained salt / simple, somewhat dull flavors of pineapple, apricot, lemon, straw, salt / Mediocre.
3.4 Light apricot color. Flavor is less salty than I prefer and more wheat flavors. Not bad but needs more salinity to be a true gose.
3.7 Clouded gold with thick, creamy, white head that decays slowly. Aroma is melon, saltwater, apricot, light grass, pear. Body is medium-light, watery (not oily or syrupy) yet very creamy. The mouthfeel was the most striking feature at the cooler serving temperature. Flavor is fruity, apricot, salt, grass and earth hops. As it warms, the saltiness becomes striking and refreshing!
