2.5 Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with a rough, off-white head. Fat, greasy Bamberg smoke. Rich, sweet, malty body with a carbonation to the low side. Sweet caramel and nuts, again massive smoke throughout. In spite of the solid body it all becomes a sticky, smoky, cloying kind of mess. Hard to drink very much of. 260219
3.6 bottle @ home. From Alko. Dull brown color with a beige fizzy head. Smoky and sweet aroma with smoke, wood, bone meal, campfire, rye, red berries, some chocolate Taste is dry with low to medium body and similar taste. balance bitterness and lingering campfire, ash and some peat.
3.7 Bottle shared at home. Lovely black appearance, decent beige brown foam layer. Aroma is dominated by campfire smoke and slightly bacon. Flavor is quite sweet and more smoke, nicely done but a bit too sugary for me. Medium bodied at best. Quite drinkable for the abv and smokiness.
3.4 50cl Bottle, thanks Harmen! Almost black colour, beige head. Aroma of pumpernickel, rye, lots of campfire smoke, hint of juniper. Flavour is sweet, rye, pumpernickel, campfire smoke, Baltic Porter sweetness, smoky sweet finish. Full bodied.
3.7 50 cl bottle. Thanks japppp for sharing! Thick, creamy and persistent beige head over a black body with brownish shades. Aroma is smoked (campfire, Prague ham) with pleasant malty sweet notes in background (caramel, some candy sugar and juniper berries). Taste is sweet, with caramel and juniper again. Smoked malts come after leaving a long and pleasant smokey feeling on your tongue. Mild smokey and malty finish, with a bit of boozy notes. Medium body, soft carbonation, slicky texture.
3.1 500ml embossed bottle. Pours a dark brown, Smoky aroma, flaovr is smoky juniper, chocolate, roast, booze, its okay.
4.1 Smell - medium strong, roast, caramel, peppermint, something else... Foam - medium thick to thin, very soft, ginger, acidic feel. Small head yellowy white. Appearance - quite dark, not clear red brown mix, looks like carbonated coffee. Taste - sweet, coffee, roast, alcohol, caramel, ginger. Actually really nice one.
3.9 Bottle from K&L in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is smoked meats, teriyaki jerky, campfire bacon, molasses. Taste is smoked malts, malty sweetness, a strange vanilla or artificial sweetness in the middle and then dry almost ashy finish. Loved the aroma but something chalky and overly sweet in the middle was a little rough for me.
3.9 Botttle from Bine & Vine. Pours dark brown with a transient beige head. Aroma is very wood smoke, but tell me the malt is smoked with reindeer dung and I’ll believe you. Med body plus a bit. Flavor is very wood smoke. It’s reasonably dry. Body drops as carbonation leaves. It’s a fairly one note thing. This is a smoky beer.
3.8 Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours near black with a transient beige head and a smoky aroma. There is a near full- bodied dark molasses flavor with a lot of smoke and a dry finish
3.7 Bottle. Pours clear dark amber with a light beige head. Nose is campfire, bacon, smoked meats. Taste follows nose with faint juniper notes, dark fruits. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Gets better as it warms. Good stuff.
3.1 Medium dark brown with a thin light tan head. Nose is smoke, crackers, and malt. Smoke aroma dominates and is otherwise malty and tangy. Medium-heavy sweet and medium tart, light bitterness.
3.9 Aroma - deep and abundant meaty smoke, peat, beechwood. Appearance - body is black, head is around 1/2", but fades slowly. Taste - has a pleasant smoke. Beefy and meaty. There is some caramel and juniper undertones. Also, a slight sweetness. Palate - body is medium, texture slick, carbonation is average,

4.0 50 cl bottle. Translucent cola brown color topped by a small creamy beige head. Rich, intense smoked malt nose. Flavor follows nose, with sweet roasted malt and dark caramel notes. Earthy and nutty with sweet chocolatey undertones. Rich and flavorful. Quite unique and worth seeking out.
3.1 Olmost balack with off white head - Smoked malt aroma - Smoked malt body - The smoked malt goes into the finish - This was nice
3.6 Deep, mahogany color. Big , off-white head . Smoke , toasted malt , dried fruits in aroma. Sweet, malty taste with notes of smoke and moderate hoppy bitterness.
4.1 Deep brown pour. The nose is incredible. Softly smoky nose with a lot of grassy malt notes. There's a touch of light yeastiness and a little bit of light pepper. Intense and smoky with a soft berry/fruity flavour. Intensely flavoured, lightly smoky and a little bit juicy. Really damn tasty.
3.2 Moderate malt and smokey aromas. Dark red in color with huge long lasting head. Taste is lightly of cherry, plum, and raisin. Light smoke notes
3.8 Bottle at home. Pours black with a medium, tight-bubbled beige head, medium retention with light lacing. Sweet smoke, rich caramel and toasted bread malt, rich dark fruits (plums, cherries, figs) with a slight meaty character, juniper notes and a lingering spice. Medium sweet finish, full body and medium carbonation.
3.5 Bottle at home from EU local swap 3/2017 lightly smokey aroma, quite sweet, full bodied, lively carbonation deep garnet red, beige head. Fruity, smoked ham, bread, dried fruit, boozy. A herbal Jasmine note near the be with a hint of umami in finish. A little on the sweet side for me but makes for a decent winter warmer.
3.8 0,5l bottle. Pours murky brown without head. Creamy mouthfeel with smoke and wood with a hint of bacon. Really good!
0.5 0,5 litre Bottle from Alko in Vasa. Dark with medium offwhite head. Smokey aroma. Tastes of smoked baconcrisps. Not Good!
3.5 Deep ruby. Quick gray-tan foam establishes a big-bubbled halo. Simple but focused and polished aromas of black licorice, spruce, smoked breadcrust, maple sugar, tar, plum, caramelized raisin. Moderately alcoholic. Loose and slightly pointy carbonation. A malty richness is splashed with fresh plum and rock candy on entry. Sassy juniper emerges and cuts through the tarry sugars and liquefied black-licorice notes. Chewy residual sugars give a caramelized raisin impression. Tickle of alcohol melds with the artfully cloaked juniper, as the malt provides a very soft and refined base of breadcrust and a smoky lushness which is enhanced by the composed juniper. Exemplary balance. A Crystal firmness and a sneaky tinge of charcoal dries things out and enriches the softer malt, though the sugars begin to tire the tongue after a couple swallows. Interplay of molasses and unsweetened chocolate provides a sturdy mouthfeel. Sweet finish is comprised of bread, tar, lengthy peat-tinged smoke and drying shades of juniper. The 9% factor makes this difficult for me to drink much of, and I’m not getting a lot of malt complexity from it. But objectively this is without flaw, albeit maybe a tad prickly in the mouth and fatiguingly sugary. Overall, it’s a pretty fun smoked strong ale from a cool brewery.
3.5 Bottle at home. Not always the biggest smoked beer fan which hurts my beer geek cred so I keep exploring. Ruby pour. Nose is cured meets and some berry. Tastes of meat, juniper, malt, and bready. As it warms the meat becomes more subdued and berry over takes. First rate with new phone.
4.4 It pours brown with ruby hues in it. The head is tan and has moderate head retention. It has the aroma of smoke. There are moderate bacon elements in the smell with the smoke. There is some light spiciness with is as well. The smoke is the dominant element with some dark fruit in the background. The dark fruits are plums and dates. It also has a moderate amount of malty richness to it featuring molasses and maillard products. It has a moderate body towards the full side with a bitter sweet smoky aftertaste. Overall, this is a complex smoked beer with a good supporting cast of dark fruits and malty richness to it.
3.8 Proletariat, NYC bottle pour: pours brown with a small beige head. Aroma is smoke, meat, caramel. Taste is smoky, meaty, very full of burnt caramel. Less meaty than Aecht Schlenkerla. Interesting and good.
3.5 Pours a murky brown with an off-white head that dissipates to a thin film quickly. Nose is smoked bacon, sweet pork and beans. Finish is long and sweet with a grapey hint. Not Normally a fan of smoked brews, but this is very nice.
3.5 From 50 cl bottle. Pours a clear cola with an ecru head. Smoky nose. Flavors of tobacco and caramel. Sweet and smoky.
3.8 50cl bottle. 26-05-2017. Courtesy of fombe89. Gracies!. BBD: 2019-13-01. In short: tasty smoked. Did i enjoy it: no doubt. Pours hazy dark amber with nice off white head. Moderate head retention, little lacing. Smoked nose, hard to detect anything else. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture. Smooth, mellow smoked notes though prominent, well integrated and balanced, some roasty and caramel notes. Pretty good.
