3.6 Sløret gyldenbrun med offwhite skum. Aroma malt frukt blomster. Smak malt krydder frukt. Balansert og rund øl. Godt øl. Delt med DjOeye på Hamna og Bier
3.6 Aroma; greenhouse, malts, fruits, nice. Look; offwhite head on near clear deep golden body. Taste; fruit caramel, spices a lot, malt, herb, n finishes spiced malted. Feel; good body n co². Overall; it`s good.
4.0 0.75l bottle. Pours cloudy gold with off-white head. Aroma of yeast, apples, pale malt, hay, citrus. Taste is medium dry, fruity, citrus, yeast. Great example of the style.
3.2 Shared bottle at home. Blonde, refreshing for a Christmas beer, quite often those are very sweet quadruple plus beers. Not great but a good balanced beer.
3.0 Flinke kop schuum, half hazy. Brood, citrus, zeperig aroma. Medium carbonaadje. Spritzy.
3.9 Dark golden, hazy, slightly off white head, good carbonation. Aroma goes towards spicies, like coriander, cinammon and cloves, alcohol, fermented fruits, white wine, wooden barrel and vanilla. Creamy, tastes like wine, balanced carbonation, fermented fruits, spicies, bread. The final is medium in intensity, bitterish, a touch of alcohol, with a nice hint of yeast.
3.3 Cloudy light amber color with off-white head. Aroma has some spicy and floral yeast esters, cloves being more prominent. Taste is slightly sweet and sugary at first, peppery and spicy, more bitter and earthy towards the finish with a lingering dry bitterness. Medium body with medium plus carbonation. A well made belgian ale but there's nothing festive about it.
3.5 120319. Bottle at home. Pours hazy copper with a nice head. Aroma Belgian yeast, spices. Some white wine like aromas. Good balance. Not Bad.
3.4 Bottle at home. Appearance - golden color with a white, medium head. Aroma - very Belgian; coriander, Belgian yeast, some fruits. Palate - fizzy, but not too carbonated, reduced bitterness, light body. Taste - just a tad sweet, fruity (with hints of unripe fruits), dry apricots, some honey and spices. Aftertaste - quite dry, bittersweet, not very long. Overall - a good Belgian blonde, quite typical, very drinkable and refreshing, but with nothing extraordinary to its name. Still, I couldn't find any hints of Port wine, as was advertised on the bottle.
4.0 Finally savoured this one with my godson as he had brought it back for me whence coming back from Spain in 2018. Nice tasty beer d’occasion as we did our Christmas gift exchange at the same time
3.4 Hazy dark golden color, white head, aroma of belgian yeast, fruits and spices, taste is medium sweet/lightly bitter, medium body, medium plus carbonation.
3.6 Cloudy golden, stable white head. Aroma: fresh ground coriander, some spicy grassy hops, some apricotes. Taste: sweet with moderate spicy bitterness. Flavour: coriander, sweet bread, some hops. Good.
3.4 330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, orangey dark golden to amber colour with huge, frothy, reinforced, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, yeasty fruity, and slightly bready malty aroma, hints of apricot, mirabelle, nectarine, fruit esters, some green apple, minimally dusty, yeasty overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, pale malty and yeasty fruity, notes of apricot, mirabelle, nectarine, peach, hints of green apple as well; minimally watery passages. Rather clean, not too sweet - nice.
3.6 Cloudy dull gold, pillowy off-white head. Smells hoppy and spicy - citrus hops, green pepper, background malts, some dried apricots. The taste is light sweet bready weizen like malts, low bitterness, low spice - vaguely like a weizen. Very well.
4.0 Ale belga de abadía navideña. Color ámbar. Mucha espuma Blanca compacta que permanece. Carbonatacion media-alta. Gusto equilibrado brillante algo dulce y afrutado a cítricos. Levaduras. Retrogusto dulce.
3.9 Hazy yellow colour, white creamy foam. Typical Val Dieu yeast, notes of peach, banana, citrus, light spicy.
3.5 Copenhagen 9/12 2018. 33 cl small chubby bottle from Holte Vinlager, Kbh Ø. Christ-massy and snowy version of Val-Dieus usual design with the church and Coat of Arms. Pours murky golden yellow with very big white head. Settles as thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the side of the glass. Massive lacing. Aroma is sweet but balanced by a more spicy odor. Sweet oxidized apples wit pronounced citric notes. Lighter hints of ginger. Humid basement yeasty odor. Strong carbonation. Slightly thick, prickly texture. Flavor is medium sweet followed by a more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with light citric tang. Pleasant Belgian with a nice citric zest and balance.
3.4 A light gusher. Cloudy amber body with a large, frothy, off-white head. Strong aroma of Belgian yeast, sweet fruits like slightly overripe apples, vague banana, spices, and a touch of honey. Strong flavour that follows the aroma, with additional hints of citrus zest. No Christmas spices, just the regular black pepper-like Belgian yeast notes. Moderate sweet taste with a light bitter finish. Foamy mouthfeel, a bit dry, mid-bodied. A nice one, despite the over- carbonation and the lack of Christmas. [33 cl bottle, enjoyed 20 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Storo, Oslo]
3.7 On tap. Pours a hazy dark amber with full head. Aromas of fuzzy stoned fruit, banana and soft malts. Flavors of fruity esters, dried apricots, carmelized banana and more soft toasted malts. Very Triple
3.3 Bottled, 330ml at Cafe Frape, Maastricht, Limburg, Netherlands. Amber with white head. There is a fruity, yeasty character to this, pear drops with a banana and bubblegum note. It's fine.
3.2 .33l bottle. Clear blonde pour. Head is thick and creamy with moderate lacing. Taste and aroma are fermented fruits, orange(peel), malt, yeast, alcohol and herbs. Expected more spiciness. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation also. Nice beer; not really all that Christmas-like for me though.
3.3 citrus, a taste of spice, somewhat bitter. A lot lighter and not as sweet as you might expect from a Christmas ale. This is something you could easily drink all year round. There are some under lying notes, but mainly I would just call this a good Belgian blonde. Try smelling it while you are drinking, it has a wonderful yeast smell and you will be no doubt that it's a Belgian ale in your glass.
3.0 Lys brun tåkete mef fingerhøyt hvitt skum. Lukter korn, epler og hvete. Søt maltig, hvete, frukt, banan og sukker. Kort
