1.6 Biere rousse très trouble. Mousse quasi inexistante. Carbonatation moyenne.
3.1 Bottle 33 cl, pours an Orange colour with a smal white head that doesn’t last long. Sweet, yeasty aroma. Also a Sweet taste.
3.1 An old bottle. Clear amber with a small head. Sweet with fruit, malt, light spices and some grain. Slightly tart. Warming alcohol in the finish.
3.3 Malty nose. Pale head. Golden color. Malty and slightly lemoney taste. Mild hops. Alcohol well hidden.
3.1 Dark yellow, white short lasting, little lacing foam head. Quite some CO2 there. Sweet barley aroma and taste, vanilla notes. (Rotterdam 201609)
3.6 Robe blonde, mousse peu abondante.
Geur: geparfumeerd, snoeperig zoetig, granen. Smaak: zoet, kruidig, vanille. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: zoetig.
3.6 330ml bottle at home. Very big and foamy white head on top of a murky yellow, hazy ale. Crisp saison lemon, spicy and firm and sweet malty tones. Lively carbonation, good body.
2.6 Appearance: cloudy medium gold with lots of particulate, a short, short-lived off-white head, nearly non-existent lacing. (2/5) Aroma: earthy barnyard funk, apples, wood, rubber? (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter, very mild tart. (5/10) Palate: medium body, soft carbonation, off-dry and slightly hot finish. (3/5) A bit disappointing - aromas are a bit more “brown apple” than “funky” and the flavours are muted, and the ABV comes across as a bit hot, especially for the style. Suffers quite a bit by comparison to the other couple of quite good saisons I’ve had today! (10/20)
3.5 Bottiglia 33 CL.
3.1 Bottle. It poured a dark orange color with no head. There were some small particles floating. The aroma was of citrus with some lemon zest. The taste was similar to the aroma that was bitter with some sour funkiness. Decent.
3.4 1998 Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong funk, yeast, wood. Medium mouth, funk, rubber, oak, lingering dryness, good.
3.5 Troebele oranje kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt zoetig, kruiden, fruitig, beetje stoffig. Smaakt zoetig, fruitig, snoep. Beetje citrus, sinas.
3.9 Aroma: Smelling of bread, apple jam, brown sugar and vanilla. Appearance: A hazy brass colored beer. A white head with some lacing and good curtains. Taste: Tasting toffee, bread, brown sugar, apple marmalade and vanilla. Palate: Medium low carbonation, a soft texture. A medium body with a slightly dry finish. Overall: Smooth, balanced. Great with cheese. Note: Bottle 750 ml at home. Reviewed 2015-02-06.
3.6 Classic strong saison since 1987 with a cloudy orangey blonde colour and cream white head, earthy and estery aroma of dried fruits, citrus peel, dust, yeast, barnyard, flowers, hay. Full, bit tart, estery and very yeasty taste, citrus freshness, sourish and florally hopped finish, complex. I liked this very much, but you have to be into these funky, somewhat ’messy’, estery saison style, I suppose.
2.0 Bottle Pours clear blonde, very small white head . Yeastflakes at the bottom . Smell is sweet, Malty, yeasty . Sharp , funky taste . Malty, yeasty , in a colliding way . Harsh , sugary , low carbo. Metallic . Very awefull
3.4 Decent saison, has the usual traits of dry grassiness, but it’s a bit watery and thin.
3.4 Bottle. Hazy golden with soft lingering head. Atoms is it’s best character rich grain and funk, light peppery yeast and unripe orchard fruit skin. The flavor is fruit juice moderated by a dull dust bitterness. Neither are great or. Integrate well. Juicy, unfiltered cider, and chalky feel. Wish it all worked better because there are nice things in this and I like this brewery from what I have had.
3.4 Nice smooth ale good offering in the Belgium ale arena overall nice mouth feel
3.7 750 ml green corked and capped bottle poured a clear gold with a lasting creamy white head. Aromas of straw, earthiness, fruitiness and light floral notes. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, sour citrus, spice and light yeast with a smooth dry lingering citrus finish.
2.7 (bottle, 33cl) Hazy, deep golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Yeasty and spicy aroma with notes of sweat/barnyard and traces of honey-ish malt shining through. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft, if not tame carbonation. Almost dry-ish and chalky malt character with sweaty spicy notes; mildly sweet and delicately tart finish with a sweaty aftertaste. Not particularly satisfying. 10.III.14
4.4 Cloudy golden orange, white head Citric, fudge, thymus, lemon grass, winey, candy bitter orange peel Very complex beer Going from sweet trough sour to winey. A great mixture of tastes
3.6 Citrus, grapefruit, yeast, passionfruit or mandarijn, Very sour fruity aroma, taste is excellent sour sweet, finish Has Nice malts and status sour... Carbs are soft and fizzy... body could be better...
3.6 Bottle. Hazy light amber liquid with medium white head. Aroma of white pepper, bubblegum, bread, biscuit, lemon peel, toffee and grain. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of bread, white pepper and biscuit. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Quite nice.
3.7 75cl bottle at home, shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, small unstable white head. NOSE: grains, hops, herbs. TASTE: herbs, spices, very decent!
3.3 Slightly cloudy, orange/amber colour. No fizz or carbonation at all. Smells like apples, sweet oranges and spice. Also has some toffee/ caramel aroma. Palate is just slightly off-dry with moderate bitterness, again no carbonation. Not sure if that is just this bottle or a style choice. Some carbonation would make this beer more refreshing.
3.0 Cloudy light amber colour with low head and medium body. Nose of pure apple core. Taste of apple seeds, light hops, light malt, light barley and honey. Hints of caramel and toast. Easy to drink, but you have to get used to this beer - at the beginning it tasted only strange and unusual.
3.0 Crazy one with a special aroma of honey and sour yoghurt. Also some hops in the back. Sweetish and bit skunky in the taste. Still a nice one with a very special aroma.
