Vedett Extra Blond

Vedett Extra Blond

Vedett, a blond, light, well hopped premium beer with 5.2% alcohol content, is the cult Duvel Moortgat beer today: following its birth in 1945, it quickly acquired fame and recognition within an intimate circle of insiders in the Antwerp-Brussels region. But do not think for a moment that this oldtimer is thinking about retirement, quite the contrary.

For the past years, Vedett has been going through a second childhood in a number of trendy cafés located mainly in big cities. The secret of its charm? A retro-look, a capricious taste, Vedett-allure and the "golden touch" of the brewery.

These past years, the brewery armed Vedett with an innovative, hip, young and slightly absurd image. A successful strategy, especially with the youth: Right now, you'll find Vedett in Belgian Delhaize supermarkets and most Flemish cities as well as in Brussels. And the follow-up to the story? You can read it at www.vedett.com.

2.9 33 cl bottle. Clear golden colour with a thin white head. Fruity aroma with grasses, fruits, hay and floral hoppy notes. Taste is light sweet. Medium bodied. Drying, fruity finish. Light and crisp.
3.1 *Rating overgezet 2015* Het is een helder goudgeel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een moutige wat grassige geur. De smaak is moutig en licht bitter.
2.5 clear golden colour, one inch of dense white head, which lasts for several minutes; aroma of grainy, hay, some grassy, minimal citrusy and metallic notes; taste of a malty lager with metallic bitterness; not that bad - at least drinkable
3.3 330ml bottle at 5%. Clear gold, moderate sized foamy head, nice retention. Aroma of clean pilsner malts, light grassy and floral notes. Taste is pale malts, slightly bready, touch of citrus, grass. Fairly clean and fairly crisp in the finish. Its an enjoyable lager. I feel its underrated on here although at the price point for a lager I can understand people rating low. I certainly wont be buying it again unless its on offer.
2.3 Bottle from Beer Hawk Belgian beer box. Aroma was a bit like manure. Taste was slightly better but at 5% I can't figure how it's a Premium beer. It's nothing like it's Duval stable mate or Leffe blond. No better than the average pilsner. I guess its got a name for being trendy and living off the back of that.
3.5 Not bad for a Belgian lager.
Lekker blond bier. Mooi licht van kleur. Bruisend en lange nasmaak. Kan er ruimschoots mee door
3.1 Fles 33cl thuis. Gras, citrus, hop (Saaz-Saaz, Styrian Golding & Hallertau Magnum), licht maltig, redelijk koolzuur. (18-12-2020). Earlier Rating: 6/30/2018 Total Score: 3.5 Fles 33cl thuis. EBU 28. Belgisch pilsje. Wat vlak, weinig uitgesproken. Wel fris en met goede balans. (7-2012).
2.1 Standard lager. Pretty crappy but fine cold if you have no other options. Find other options
3.3 This is a hipster Beer, so it pains me to say that it is actually one of the better commercial Lagers to go for. While the aroma and taste provide familiar notes of earth and sweet malts as well as a biscuity, caramel/vanilla backbone, it is the mouthwatering finish that will set this Lager apart from the rest. While the head retention is pathetic, it ticks all the other relevant boxes. Read the full review here: www.beerwithus1.wordpress.com/2020/10/14/vedett-extra-pilsner
3.2 Large foamy white head left a froth on a slowly carbonating pale straw coloured body. Crisp aroma of stone fruit & grain. Medium bodied, airy over the to the with a sharp clean back. Bitter/Sweet citrus, light hops, fruity, cereal, grain & stone fruit tastes. Clean & refreshing
2.7 Rebranding the 'extra blond' suddenly into 'extra pilsner' (which it in fact always was) and even 'premium lager'?? Still don't fancy this popular beer... Super clear and super pale yellow pour with white head; decent retention. Aroma is faint malty with nothing special. And the taste is also a regular pilsner, even quite malty and no special character for me. Sparkling carbonation. I'd say, still a bigger brand beer with not very much to offer. (Combined rates on 23/09/20 and 12/07/22)
2.6 Fancy branding but fails to deliver on taste. Pretty rough really and no better than other macro options.
0.5 Dit is gewoon een waterig pilsje. Geen blond biertje! Water met schuim......
3.0 APARÊNCIA amarelo pálido, límpido. creme branco de moderada formação e persistência. AROMA herbal e leve cítrico. SABOR malte, cereais, pão e leve cítrico. amargor suave. SENSAÇÃO corpo medio-baixo e carbonatação moderada.
3.1 33cl bottle. Pours classic gold, with medium grained white foam. Aroma is yeasty, grassy, citrus. Nice and fresh. Body is average, like carbonation. Taste is medium sweet, with decent bitterness in the final, which is average in length.
3.1 Bottle from Tesco Crisp fresh hops in the nose and pours a very pale straw, almost greenish, with a very lively frothy head, that takes in time to disappear. Sharp and tangy on the tongue. Mainly straw, lemongrass and biscuits, with just a hint of Belgian banana. Quite a nice fruity finish as well. Better than your average lager.
3.0 Botella de @DeCervecitas, (Online) 06/06/2020 Color amarillo corona dorado corona de espuma blanca aromas cereal, levadura, sabor cereal, malta cuerpo medio.
2.7 Aroma; grass, bread, hefe, mild hops. Look; off-white mat on clear yellowish golden body. Taste; grass, bread, mild hops, citrus, mild spices, straw, and leading to a short finish. Feel; normal body n co². Overall; chicken friendly. [čištění starého nepořádku, lahvové pivo, koup@ německém obchodě]
2.7 Pas mal pour une pils industrielle. C est de chez DUVEL. C est bon. Mais voilà, faut s'attendre à rien d'autre. Un peu chère.
3.2 Pours a clear gold with a foamy white head. A fresh and clean beer. Doesn't overwhelm in the taste department, but it is an easy-sipping, light lager.
3.4 330ml (5%) at home on 27 Apr 2020, purchased on 25 Apr 2020 (bbe Feb 2021): hay, pale malt aroma, pale golden, good bubbly off-white head, some patchy lacing, biscuit, grain flavour, moderate fizz, sweet finish.
3.3 Bottle from the Co-op, pours golden with a white foam and a bright dry hoppy nose. Crisp and dry, clean and bitter. Nice.
2.7 Barwa jasne złoto, klarowne, piana średnio obfita, drobnopęcherzykowa, redukuje się do cienkiej warstewki, zostawia szczątkowy lacing. W aromacie słodowy, lekko fenolowy, lekko estrowy. W smaku wyraźnie estrowy, jasne owoce, odrobina banana, wyraźnie fenolowy, taka nieco guma, trochę w kierunku apteki, ale na niskim poziomie. Nieco zielonych nut chmielowych. Goryczka wyraźna, średnia, zalega, odrobinę chemiczna/mineralna. Pełnia niska. Wysycenie wysokie.
2.8 Bottle. Pours clear gold with a large, frothy white head, long retention. Medium grainy sweet malt, light hop bitterness, and a dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation.
2.8 Blond clear beer. Smells of straw, hay and a little bit skunky with some floral notes too. Tangy, light bodied with some bitterness.
