3.1bottle @ Keg Liquor / Clarksville IN --- Aroma of caramel and malt. Opaque brown / black color, ivory head that slowly sinks to a full cover, bands of lace. Taste is malt that pushes quickly past light carbonation to caramel that grows through a medium finish. Slightly chalky at the end. Watery at the onset, chalky at the end....good, not at all great.
3.0Pours a filtered amber-hazelnut brown color with a big khaki head.
Smells of toffee and glazed caramel among a gentle bread quality, which got a refreshing red berry coffee tartness to it.
Drinks pretty soft with a medium carbonation to it and a rustic malty body, which stays refeshing.
Tastes of toasty malts, coated by toffee, while getting accompanied by toffee supportive earth. Finishes with a soft dryness, adding a pleasant depth to the prevailing, smoky turning malts.
Nice brew, relying on the malts with a well composed diversity, making this very drinkable.
3.5Bottle @ home. Clear brown body with a medium offwhite head. Caramel, bread, toasted bread, some spices.
3.4Pours clear light brown, big dark tan head. Nose of caramel, toffee, bread, toast, diacethyl, a little DMS. Tastes sweetish with a little bitterness emerging after a moment. Medium body and carbonation, some stickiness. Not bad but unimpressive.
3.3Garrafa de 50 cl . Espuma tímida que desaparece num instante. De cor castanha/âmbar.O aroma parecia uma Rauchbier mas que logo desenvolve para álcool, especiarias e malte. Sabor a caramelo e malte.Corpo ligeiro.
2.70,5 l Bügelflasche. Aroma: Toffee, dunkle Schokolade. Erscheinung: rotbraunes Bier, cremefarbener Schaum.
3.5Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass darker than exspected, nice head. Starts fine malty, roasty, mild sweetness. Hints of chocolate, some berries. Spicy-malty finish. Really nice!
3.2Swing-top bottle 50cl. Clear amber brown, large frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, good lacing; aroma is malty, caramel, dough, raisin, nutty notes, some basement; taste is medium sweet and bitter, malty, fruity, some sulphur; medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste is mild sweetbitter, light roast, sulphur notes and a bit acidness in the finish; all in all a bit thin and slightly infected.
1.6Pictured bottle from Keg Liquors; split six ways. Aroma: Semi-sweet chocolate no-bake cookies, but lighter overall; not much in the way of hops. Appearance: Chestnut brown, flat body with a ring of bubbly tan head. Flavor: Very light and nearly watery; has that no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookie thing going on; fruity esters and hop presence are negligible. Palate: Light body, slick texture, flat carbonation, lingering finish. Overall: Exceedingly dull. Almost like a watered down German Guinness.
2.9500 mL swing top bottle shared by ebone1988. The pour is a dark brown, hints of ruby shining through, with a thicker off white head and a good amount of lace. It does pour like a light cola. The aroma is heavy on sweet potatoes. There is a little brown sugar and molasses that is hidden. The dominating factor here is the sweet potatoes which is really different. The flavor is almost non-existent. It's very, very light. I'm pretty much just getting a little malty water. There is no distinct flavors. The mouth feel is thin and light with a decent carbonation level and the only thing of an aftertaste I can formulate is a barely-detectable sweet potato, long after the beer is gone. Smelled like there was much better potential. Disappointing.
3.0Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is malt, figs, molasses, brown sugar, sweet potato. Appearance is cola brown/amber, light tan head. Taste is...nothing, really. Some very light flavors far away. Malt, caramel, maybe? Very light. Mouthfeel is thin, medium carbonation. Overall...I was expecting some actual flavor based on aroma.
3.1Not sure the specific characteristics of landbier but it is pretty basic. There is malt foward flavor. There is some of the sweet candy tachiness of some of the hefeweizens as well though.
3.4Bottle. Thanks to KL. Fruity nose, some citrus and grassiness, and even a little tropical fruit. Orange/amber color. Hop heavy initial, mild malt backbone, hops re-emerge in mid and but do not stay around for the finish. Thin-medium body. Hops are the focus here -- seems a touch thin for all the bittering. Still, tasty and interesting.
3.7Bottle from Landbierparadeis. Orange tints in dark brown, clear. rich, fruity nose, malty, raisins, berry, apple, caramel. Very rich, interesting nose. Big, malty flavor, not too sweet, chocolate, raisins and prunes. A nice rich dunkles landbier.

Decent Beer.Don’t know why they call it a "Landbier" though,It’s a Dunkel.
3.50,5l Flasche.Dunkles Landbier mit toller Schaumkrone. Riecht nach Röstmalzen; schmeckt intensiv nach Röstmalzen.
3.2bottle. Brown with one finger head. Malty and very bready. I feel like I’m drinking dough. Very eh. Nutty with a light hop note.
3.950cl fliptop bb07/2015, forget which Bavarian source. Beautiful red-hued maroni pour. What starts off as slightly sulphuric brownie dough and rural chestnut soil in aroma develops into a rich and confidently grass-hopped Landbier in the richest of traditions, full of creamy substance and nuance: chocolate milkshake tuned to sessionability by near-piney hops, notes of liquorice and stewed maroni - before a drying smokey (open fire) astringency seals it all off.
2.6Ordentliches Landbier, kerniger Charakter, fast ein Kellerbier. Herb würzig im Abgang.
3.0500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear dark brown, thin off-white head. Aromas of toffee and light herbs. Taste is more of the same. Standard.
3.4Bottle from Cotteridge Wines and drunk at home. Clear dark brown cola coloured lasting thin beige head. Brown malty aroma. OK malty lager. It’s fine. Clean, tasty, some spicy hop. Fine.
3.40,5 l bottle from local dursty. Clear, dark amber with sticky, stable tan head. Beautiful! Weak smokey, malty aroma. Really nice, slightly smokey taste of roasted malts, burnt caramel, bread and grains. Good! Medium body, average carbonation, almost creamy mothfeel, crisp bitter finish. This is a really nice landbier. It reminds me a bit of Schlenkerla Märzen. Although it is not that good, it is a nice surprise between all the boring examples of that style.
3.20,5 l bottle. Pours out clear in a dark amber, light tanned one finger head. Malt on the nose. Taste is toasted malt, low grain, low bitterness, roasted aftertaste, light sweetness. Nearly like a soft bock. Nice one!
3.5Bottle. Pours a nice mahogany color with a fluffy head that fades to nominal lacing. Aroma of malt, fruit, caramel and bit of nut. Taste of fruit, caramel sweetness and nut. Mild bitterness and the finish is quite dry. Medium body, smooth and flavorful. Enjoyable beer that goes down easy.
2.8Shared 500ml bottle at Bolero Bamberg. Unclear mahogany coloured body. One-finger, off-white head leaving nice lacework behind. Nice caramel malty aromas. Fruity caramel to the tastebuds. Dried fruity finish. Medium bodied. Fair enough (12.10.2014)
3.1Murky brown body cloudy, beige head thick. Aroma berries, malts, hops. Palate soft slick full-bodied, carbonation is soft and flat. Taste is malts little caramel, toffee and milk, with some dryness on weak hops flavor.
