Verdant Bloom

Verdant Bloom

Our India Pale Ale showcases Mosaic and Columbus hops with a stripped down malt bill. It continues on from Headband but has the ABV that an IPA deserves. Think blueberry muffins with a hint of caramel and liquorice. Dank, stinky and packed with juiciness with a good solid bitterness.

Malts: Best Ale, Extra Pale Ale, Wheat, Caragold
Hops: Mosaic, Columbus
Yeast: LalBrew New England

3.4 Keg Danish pint, MHCC. Pale ruby slicked with off white. Sweet red berry aroma. Thick and gently humming with peach and honey sweetness, sticky spruce, red boiled sweets. Very American. Overpriced and sticky. Not to the taste of this rater but men (and women) with beards will love it.

3.7 Pomarańczowe, umiarkowanie mętne, z mizerną pianką. Dojrzałe cytrusy w zapachu, dość wytrawne, pomarańczowe, zestowe w smaku. Soczyste, ale trochę mało wyraziste.

3.4 Can 500 ml ABV 6.5 % from newly opened "A Pint of Hops" in Acton. Aroma is very rich and sweet with passion fruit, pineapple and citrus. Pours hazy amber body with fluffy cream-white head. Taste is bitter but refreshing with heavy citrus, pineapple and passion fruit. Slightly dry palate.

3.7 Can from the Real Ale Classroom, Leicester. Golden and clear with a small ring of creamy white head. Juicy citrus and tropical fruit in the hoppy aroma: pink grapefruit, tangerine, some pineapple, with a caramel biscuit note as well. Nicely balanced taste, there's an inherent orchard fruit sweetness that is tempered by a light bitterness. Not a 'bursting with hop' IPA but rather a nicely balanced drink that seems to improve with every sip.
3.8 11/3/2019. Tap at Victorian Craft Beer Cafe, Halifax. Pours hazy golden orange with a white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, passion fruit, grapefruit, pineapple and light citrus. Moderate sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, average carbonation. Nice and fruity, some bitterness to finish, enjoyed it.

3.7 Can from the Hanging Bat. Appearance - cloudy orange. Decent head. Nose - mango and guava. Taste - papaya and the pungent guava again. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture. Dry balanced finish. Nice linger. Overall - great example of the style.
3.6 Draught Huge dense yellowish head over fully hazy orange-golden beer. Very citrussy nose, bit asafoetida, very lightly cheesy; green leaves, spicy. Again extremely fruity-citrussy, with a (malty) sweetness, also reminiscent of oranges. Quite slick, as if fruit-filled; medium body. Not half bad; bit chewy IPA lurching toward DIPA.
4.0 Draft glass @ Beerlovers Bar. Hazy orange, huge creamy white head. Nose is mellow doughy, sweetish, perfume, white pepper,… Taste is interesting, weird but in a good way, potpourri hop, perfume, incense hop, dried flowers,… Very interesting potpourri & white pepper hop, touch hazy white bread, very interesting, drinks very well, good stuff for sure.
4.0 Tap. Pours cloudy blonde,. Médium white head. Smell is creamy, straight up Hop juice. Tropical, with notes of mango and pineapple. Bit melon, even? Taste is full, bit bitter, creamy, very fruity. Intense. Bit mineral finish in an otherwise amazing beer.
4.0 Can from Centrale Newcastle, served cool. Dank garden and cat pee aroma. Big blue fruit juiciness, stewed tea, nice bitter finish. A bit of a treat.
