3.9 Bottle. Minimally hazy reddish brown colour with a relatively small foamy tan head, nose is malty, fruity, roasty and acidic with notes of red wine, balsamic vinegar, red berries and dark toffee, taste is sweet, sour and fruity with a tart finish, a full body and a fizzy carbonation.
3.9 Pours amber to light brown, medium head. Vinish aroma and some dired berries. Very drinkable and refreshing. Taste is between wine and some extra fruit. Hidden sweetness which gives special touch. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Very good one.
Aromas cítricos, a frutos rojos frescos, a vinagre.
0.9 Aroma : Weird melange of malt, cider vinager & mouldy dark red/purple fruits. Quite unplesant in fact. Taste : Medium to full bodied. Flavour is mixed Sweet & very sour dark fruits over a malty base. The finish is a sharp note of apple cider vinegar. Pretty nasty stuff. Drain pour!
2.9 Wild copper, balsamic, sour, acidic wonderful as a digestif
3.2 0,33 bottle. Címke hagyományos, nem tudom ki lehet rajta. A sör mély, vöröses-barna, habja barnásfehér, elég nagy, és elég tartós is. Illata furcsa.
3.5 Found out of bottle from Srodek in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. Pours a dark brandy brown with thick off white foam. Sweet and vingery aroma. Sweet and slightly sour flavor. Good fall option.
4.0 zapach intensywny, słodki, kwaśny, bardzo przypomina czerwone wino, sporo tanin, sporo beczki dębowej, dojrzałe śliwki i czereśnie, w tle nuty karmelowe i tostowane słody, trochę melasy, ale wszystko to na drugim planie. kolor brązowo czerwony, jak mocna czarna herbata. klarowny, piana jasnobeżowa, skąpa i szybko znika. w smaku słodkie, intensywne, wyraźnie kwaśne, czysty, lekko octowy kwasek, sporo kwaśnych owoców, słodkie soki z wiśni, śliwek, słodkie czerwone wino, przyprawy, masa nut beczki, bardzo dużo tanin, lekkie nuty dzikie i alkoholowe, odrobina acetonu (ale przyjemnego) i świeżo wyprawionej skóry. goryczka niska, taniniczna, drewniana, skórzana. w ustach gęste, ale i ostre przez wysoką kwasowość, do tego taniniczne i ściągające. nasycenie umiarkowane do niskiego.
1.2 Ruby coloured pour, light froth and some retention. Aroma; acrid- abit like nail polish remover. Taste sour cherries, Christmas pudding. This wasn't a great beer, I am not a fan of sours beers in general this didn't work for me.
4.2 Duchesse de Bourgogne pours a dark color with a deep red hue. Its tan head is small, but leaves nice lacing behind. The bouquet is very fruity with vinous notes of muscat, plums, and red berries. The attack is malty but is quickly followed by a light- to medium-bodied mid-palate with vibrant notes of of apple vinegar, cherry, plum, as well as hints of lemon and banana. The hop contributes minimal bitterness that becomes more apparent in the crisp finish. A great and complex brew.
3.7 At Crowley's
4.1 Clear deep brown with a reddish tone. A moderate off white head. Aroma: Sour dark berries, vinegar, farmyard. Malts - caramel, tobacco. Mouth: Sour-sweet in a great balance. Medium body, average carbonation.
4.0 wytrawne, lekko kwaskowate czerwone wino pomieszane z piwem. W tle czuć dębine. Bardzo dobre piwo.
4.4 One of my favourite Flanders Reds. Crazy and rich sourness. Full of dark forest secrets!
2.5 Tastes like liquid brown sauce.
3.8 11.2 oz bottle. Best by 2023/02/23. Nutty, cherry and red fruit, jam, oak, touch of chocolate. Moderate sour taste, moderate to bigger sweet. Some light acidic bite on the very back end. Medium-plus body, found and full. Sort of slick in a mouth-waterinf way, with a little lightly dry finish. Nice longer aftertaste. Great Flemish style sour. A flavorful one to sip on.
3.5 Bottle from House of Trembling Madness, online. Pours a dark ruby-brown with small off-white head Aroma is aged, vinous, cherries, spices. Taste is very sour and sharp, vinous, fruity, cherries, oak, yeast. Medium bodied, fine zingy carbonation. A little full on for me.
4.4 Burgundy colour with white lacing. Acidic wine-like aroma. Rich, acidic and fruity taste. Fruits would be: raisins, red berries, red currant. Impression of an aged red wine. Very complex. Complexity paired with tannins is great. Fairly silky. Acidic and fruity aftertaste. Excellent.
3.6 330 ml bottle. Pours clear red/brown with a beige head. Aroma of vinegar, raisin and sour cherries. Tastes of cherries, plums, raisins, spice, sour grapes and yeast.
Aroma a cereza, cereales y caramelo.
3.4 Glass sample, dark brown beer, small head. Aroma is sweet, sour, fruit. Taste is sour, sweet, fruit, not bad.
4.9 Bought at States Street Liquor from Redlands, California for $13.83, Duchesse de Bourgogne is a Flemish sour ale crafted by Brouwerij Verhaeghe from Vichte, Belgium. The air yields cherries, caramel, dark fruit, light acidity, and a fair funky cheese as you drink. The appearance is maroon that pours a finger of beige head with decent retention and lacing. When held up to light, the color shifts to a burgundy color. Mahogany shows when light reflects off the beer. The alcohol content is 6%. Cherries fairly tarts the take, and moderately sweetens the complexion. Raspberries compliments the cherries, and slightly tangs the relatively dry finish. Lactobacillus adds a moderate acidic bite to the take and tinge to the fruity mouthfeel. Caramel smoothens the drink and feel, tasted when you lick your chops, and followed by a fairly sweet flavor and touch of raisins. Figs are discerned with the caramel and cherry combination. Funky cheese slightly fills the body, and merges with the caramel, fig, and raisin mixture. Plums are noted upon the mouthfeel during the finish, where oak gives off a woodsy tint. As the beer warms, green apples are easily noticeable as the finish prolongs. Duchesse de Bourgogne is a sensuous Flemish sour ale. Cherries, raspberries, Lactobacillus, caramel, raisins, figs, funky cheese, plums, oak, and green apples combine into a tasteful craft beer. Right out of the bottle, tart cherry and acidic Lactobacillus are moderate, followed by the slight, tangy raspberry. The cherries, raisins, and caramel blend draws you in, where figs and plums adds depth. The funky cheese harmonizes with the caramel, figs, plums, and green apple, which lingers into the relatively dry finish. The sour and tart is a pleasing 3.4 out of 5 for a fan of sour beer; 4.2 out of 5 for a newcomer. I cherished every single drink, and enamored by the complexity and depth of this staple, Flemish sour ale. Cheers. Prost. Drink for the love of beer. 3.9 Bottle. Pours clear deep maroon/chestnut brown with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, wood, tart fruits, berries, vinous notes. Medium sweetness, moderate tart. Medium body, smooth oily texture, soft carbonation. Enjoyed this.
