2.3 Donkerbruin bier met beperkte beige schuimkraag. Rode bessen. Licht zurig, anijs. Lange wat vieze afdronk
3.6 Bottle of 33cl, in a Tulip glass; from the fridge. A good brown/dark beer with aroma and taste of sweet dark chocolate. Will drink again.
3.4 Malty nose. Sweet malty flavor, bitter chocolate ending in a dry slightly roasted finish. Enjoyable but misses some punch.
3.0 Lekker donker. Smaak redelijk snel weg.
3.7 A little sour, some lacto that shouldn’t be there. A bit muddled and hazy. Not a super crisp clean finish. Good enough, not good for the style though. Online beerwulf (3.5 march 2020) Beerwulf adventkal. A good dubbel, clean and good but mild belgian yeast flavours and a nice malty amber forward body.
3.2 On tap at the 13th Brugge beer festival, Brugge, Belgium. A dark brown coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Malty, caramel, dark fruit, spice aroma and taste.
3.6 Bottle. Pours brown with a large, frothy beige head, long retention. Moderate bread and caramel malt, light toast malt, light earthy hops and hop bitterness with a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation.
3.3 Bier festival
Besteld via Beerwulf.
3.5 Erg donker, chocolade, moutig, lekker.
4.1 This is a very nice dubble style beer. Fairly strong full of malt and fairly sweet flavours. Lacks in appearance and head dissipated quickly but makes up for it in taste. I would re purchase.
2.4 33 cl fles. Troebel bruin van kleur, fijne creme schuimkraag. De geur is toffee en rood fruit. Smaak is zoet, toffee, mout en anijs.
7.5% alc. vol.
3.4 (Draught at Gollem, Antwerpen, 18 Oct 2018) Reddish brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit and roasted aromas. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, dark fruit, crisp-bread, a touch of cinnamon and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.
3.2 33cl Bottle from Vonk. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma is very sweet, maple syrup, oxidized dark beer, raisins, malts, dark fruits. Flavour follows, very sweet, malty, dark fruits, maple syrup, hint of Madeira, soft bitterness. Light to medium bodied. Smooth.
4.1 Bonne, classique
3.2 Copenhagen 11/2 2019. 33 cl bottle Køl beer Webshop (kolbeer.com). Drawing of Moose head wearing Sun glasses and smoking cigarette, a guitar, a mouth harmonica and a chocolate bar (partly eaten) on the label. And the pun “B. Beer King”. Pours murky Maroon with small off-white head. Settles as meagre poodle of foam. No Lacing. Aroma is heavy sweet, sugary and a little boozy. Brown sugar, sugar drenched dark fruit, Port Wine and alcoholic. Low carbonation. Medium thick, oily, sticky texture. Flavor is heavy sweet and sugary. Light sour notes. Aftertaste is sweet and boozy. Lingers for a while. A very sweet boozy Belgian fellow. On the verge of being too sweet.
Corpo debole.
3.3 Bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel, metal and red fruit in the aroma. Just a hint of sourness in the flavor. Toffee, butter, red fruit, caramel. Soft floral notes. Decent.
3.0 2018 - 12 - 26 330ml bottle. brown-amber colour. small tan head. plums in aroma. light bitter, medium sweet taste
2.8 Dark red, slightly hazy. Low sized off-white head has scarce persistence and lacing. Quite subdued aroma shows a caramel and sugary base with red fruit notes (expecially cherry). Taste is more intense, but not too deep or well balanced. Strong sweetness with caramel and brown sugar, no bitterness to bring balance, a slight hint of sourness shows cherry notes. Medium bodied with average carbonation in a semi-soft mouthfeel. The beer feels overall quite empty and not very well integrated. Disappointing.
3.2 Bevuta in bottiglia. Birra ambrata intensa. Il finale dolce. Non è male.. .
3.3 33cl flesje via De Gulden Hoeck, Gulpen Alcoholpercentage van 7,5% Uitgeschonken in Grimbergen glas Uiterlijk: donkerbruin met schuimkraag die direct wegtrekt Aroma en smaak: neus is gebrande mouten, donkere chocolade, rood fruit, caramel, zoetje Conclusie: redelijk biertje
3.5 Bottle @ Waasmunster Bierminners tasting. Pours maroon brown, almost no head. Nose of sweet caramel, some spice. Taste is mostly sweet malty but balanced. Medium to low carbonation, tastes more heavy than it is, some dextrines. Good dubbel.
3.7 dark brown colour, medium sized, dense, though quickly disappearing beige head; aroma of burnt plum jam, cocoa powder, some chocolate and caramelized sugar; taste has the same notes with syrupy sweetness, some anise and licorice; quite enjoable beer
3.4 white off head, dark brown to black coloured body, citrus floral like smell nit string, medium to high co2 low bitter sweet malts cacoa very nice thick body some caramel
3.3 At Het Pand, Ghent. Pours hazy brown/red with a small, off-white head. The aroma contains (light) roasted malt, nuts, (burned) caramel, chocolate, hpos, some spices and dark/dry fruits. It tastes medium caramel-like sweet and light to medium hoppy/spicy bitter; shortish, dry finish. Medium body, slick to watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Reminded me a bit of the brown Ales in the USA - also because of the rather thin palate.
