3.5 Alone at home. Brown colored beer with small white head and no carbonation visible. Fruited malty aroma. Full sour palate. Finish is fruited sweet sour dry.
3.5 Fles 33cl thuis. Zuurtje, licht vineus, hout, wat wrang, rood fruit, kers, droog. (6-12-2020).
4.5 Nice brownish-reddish color and a nice off-white head. Wonderful fruity and acidic nose. Sour, balsamico, vieneos. Love that!
2.0 Earlier Rating: 8/25/2019 Total Score: 2.9 Reviewing it as it is and not my normal style. A red Flemish sour it works really well and fits it with the more popular options out there. Very muddy brown. Heavy sour.
4.1 Hazy brown with a thin beige head that dilapidates quickly. Beautiful sour aroma. After a stinging sour start and some muggy flavours there is not too much flavour left, leading it to a relatively unexciting palate.
3.8 26.6.2020: 330 ml bottle, 6.0% ABV, at Brasserie Au Trappiste, Bern. Pours a clear mahogany with a small, off-white head. There is quiet some wood in the aroma along balsamic vinegar, white wine, dark berries, blackberries, gooseberries, dried dark fruits and hints of cocoa - nice smell. Medium body with a soft carbonation, a medium to medium-heavy acidity and a light tartness. The flavor starts with mild acetic notes, lightly woody with oak, balsamic vinegar, light vinous notes, white wine and tart grapes. Finishes with a light residual acidity, tannin and some wood. Overall with lots of woody and vinous notes, lots of character and a nice complexity. Aroma: 7 Appearance: 4 Taste: 8 Palate: 4 Overall: 15
3.7 Bottle "editie 2013" - nose is sour and dusty. Sip adds tart fruitiness. dry. light cloying finish.
3.4 Bevuta in bottiglia. Tipica birra acida. Buoni profumi. Non eccessivamente acida. Gusto fruttato.
3.3 A 12.7 fl. oz. bottle with an expiry date of 19th December 2025. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen stemmed glass. It was a clear amber orange copper colour with a nice two finger beige head, that had good retention and eventually settled to a thin replenishing cap, while leaving nice lacing. Aromas sour, strawberry, balsamic vinegar, cherry, and light oak. Tastes tart, sour, balsamic vinegar, oak, with fruity notes of strawberry, cherry and blackberry. Dry, medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall the balsamic notes were strong, and along with wood notes, overpowered the berry fruitiness that I prefer.
3.3 Acida ma discreta...
3.6 330ml bottle. Pours cloudy reddish brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma is sour, acidic, slightly vinegary, oaky, prunes, cocoa. Taste is sour, some vinegar, oaky, prunes, dried cherries. Medium body, average carbonation. Nice!
3.6 Bottle - 330ml. Cloudy brown body with a thin, lasting, off-white creamy head. Sharp malty/hoppy aroma with yeasty, oaky, fruity hints. Its well balanced taste is not as strong as the aroma. It carries oaky, fruity, and vineous notes. Ends with a decent sour/woody finish. Good Oud Bruin.
3.6 Copenhagen 5/2 2020. 33 cl bottle from Den Belgiske Ølbutik, Jyllingevej, Vanløse. As “Oud Bruin Hip Hops”. White label with funky letters, an ancient man and a beer barrel frowing roots and branches (I understand nothing). Pours murky maroon with a medium-sized, bubbly, off-white head. Disappears fairly fast leaving a thin patch of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing. Aroma is fairly intense mixing sweet frutiness with a stronger, sharp sourness. Sweet raspberry meeting vinegar, lemon and tart gooseberries. Strong carbonation. Thin, oily, tingling texture. Flavor is intense with a light sweetness followed by a strong acidic sourness. Aftertaste is sour. Lingers for a while. Vineous dry sour finish. Fine sharp Bruin with a light sweetness giving a little bit of balance.

Mere belgisk i sit udtryk end amerikasnk.
Samma i smak. Djup och murrig. Syrlig och lite unken
4.0 28-09-19 // bottle shared at Mon Petit Cafe Suttgart on Zwanze Day 2019. Editie 2014. Thanks J! Damn oaky. Good sourness but not balsamic. Lovely.
3.9 bottle that pours clear amber-orange-red with a small white-orange cap offering some retention and lacing. raspberry woodsiness, spicy and peppery lemons, spot-on tartness - not linear but not complex either, but it works; cinnamon-like spiciness, just a few tannins. moderate carbonation, light body, dry and tart woodsy-spicy-lemony finish. tastes like a cherry red/bruin - very kewl.
3.7 The beer has got a deep dark brown color with a steady head and smooth body. Aroma of barley and acid. Taste of roasted barley, malt, cherries, acid. Sour finish.
3.8 Keg at Cafe Beermoth, Manchester. A hazy reddish brown colour with a medium white head. Aroma of strawberry fruit pastilles, some funk, peach and slight oak. Taste of strawberry, blackberry, sour funk, some redcurrant, slight oak and subtle lactic acidity. Medium bodied and a slick texture. A dry, oaky, fruit and funky sour finish. A classic Oud Bruin. Summer pudding fruits, funky sourness and a dry, oaky finish. Very good.
2.7 12.7 oz bottle, 2013 edition with cap exp 18/05/23. Pours clear dark ruby with a medium creamy light tan head that goes to a thin film that leaves little lacing. The aroma is sweet acidic and tart fruit with some wood and a little funk. The flavor is sweet and lots of tart sour fruit with acidic earthy funk. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation. Overall, an OK sour.
4.1 In pompa, fusto 2017. Aroma di rovere, vinoso, ciliegia matura leggermente animale. Al palato l'acidità è controllata e lattica. Zero acetico. Ciliegia e tannini in evidenza, elegante, finale lungo e tannico.
3.4 Bottle from the Grumpy Goat, Reading. Hazy chestnut colour with a beige head. Tart and sour from the off, with wood, raspberry, redcurrant, damp barns and vanilla. There's quite a fresh summery thing going on amongst all the old woodiness Dry in the finish. It's been a while since I've had a beer in this style and I rather enjoyed it.
3.5 Bottle. Clear, dark reddish to amber body with a nice, dense tan head. Aroma is really nice and in balance with malt, red fruit, dry fruit, oak, acid and a faint hint of acetone. Flavor is malty and fruity, quite fresh and fruity with acid in combination with sweet malt and dry fruit. Medium body and same aftertaste as the rest. Nice with some Rodenbach Grand Cru qualities, but not quite there and rather light in body.
