3.7500ml bottle, 8.5 % abv, kindly shared by djoeye. A tan-coloured head over a shiny black coloured body, dotted spots on the glass. Dark malty aromas of chocolate, nuts and liquorice, promising. Blended taste profile of prunes, dark caramel and chocolate, hints of black currant towards the ending. Fine depth and warmth from the alcohol. Enjoying. (Rating session with Finn and djoeye, PivotekaH7, Tromsø 19.02.2018).

3.3Copenhagen 27/7 2016. 50 cl bottle from Fakta. Ancient rendering of Brewers doing their thing with huge barrel. Pours opaque dark brown with big beige head. Settles as fat creamy layer of foam. Thick lacing. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee and alcohol. Soft carbonation and creamy oily palate. Flavor is pronounced sweet and slightly roasted. Followed by medium bitterness. In the better league of the Willemoes brand.
3.3500 ml bottle at abv 8.5% bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.
Looks: Clear deep blackish brown colour with a thin trace of yeast sediments; One and a half finger head with crumpety beige foam which lasts for 2 minutes. Poor sticky lacing and zero carbonation.
Aroma: Fragrant and sweet dark malt, with roasted coffee, strong caramel, toffee, chocolate, plum, light cream, liquorices, strong sugar, yeast and light grass.
Taste: Very strong sweet dark malt, with moderate roastyness, strong caramel, toffee, black coffee, light dark chocolate, cola, strong alcohol, strong liquorices, floral, strong sugar, light earth, yeast, lemon, strong bitter hops and strong grass.
Body: Mid to light body. Slick palate.
Mouth Feel: Solid dark maltyness in a fairly thick background. Fairly good roast but pretty much overwhelmed by strong alcohol, sugar and lots of liquorices bitterness. Good black coffee, caramel, toffee and some dark chocolate. Strong lemon to round. Very strong indeed!
Booze: The 8.5% alcohol if fueled by strong liquorices and come out strongly with just the first few sips. Feels like it’s 9% or more. Yet it’s not too warm and the liquorices makes it agreeable. Just okay.
Hoppiness: Light grass in nose. Floral, earth, lemon and strong grass in taste; Bitterness - hops and liquorices - is very sharp and strong for a lasting, very high astringent sweet malty finish.
After Taste: Quite dry. Very sweet, boozy and strong bitter to mouth.
Comments: This is a fully pump-up Baltic Porter, strong in every aspect without being sophisticated. The added liquorices makes the strong sweetness and booze palatable, yet the buried nice coffee and dark maltyness feel wasted. Less gonzo and wacky could go a long way. Still pretty drinkable for the style.
3.6Stærk smag af kaffe. En stor smag af lakrids i eftersmagen. Der er også lidt spritet over den.
3.0Very dark brown with a foamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and liqourice. Sweet with a medium bitterness.
3.6Aroma: roasted malt and fruity sweetness.
Flavour: dark roasted coffee and malt with fruity sweetness and a bitter slightly liqorice aftertaste.
Colour: very dark brown with an offwhite head.

Fett. 0,5l Flasche aus Padborg, ca. 3 Euro.
