3.1Pours gold with a small head.
Nose shows marmalade, bready and grainy malt, honey, spicy hops.
Flavours include more marmalade, a honey-like sweetness, grainy malt and herbal, spicy hops.
3.4Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Clear golden color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, herbal hops and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
3.3Bottle from The Beer Junction, Seattle
Cloudy blond color. It’s a solid IPA with a mild grapefruit touch, it’s citrusy, a bit zesty, a bit astringent, and the agave probably adds a light floral touch.
Nice.
3.3Some light grapefruit and agave to a lesser degree. Hazy golden pour with good head and lacing. Light tangy finish with some fruity notes. Tap at Jack Rose.
3.212 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained off white head, over a clear dark yellow (SRM 4) body......nose is agave, light grapefruit, light toasted malts, mild herbal hops......taste is lightly sweet, with grapefruit notes, mild allium, grassy tones, agave, finishing with a mild bitterness, balance to the additives......mouth feel, light body, mild alcohol, high carbonation with clean acid. This is a very light IPA. The hops are used with a light hand, the grapefruit juice is present as is the agave. The beer is more in the Pale Ale range of aroma and flavor. It is a light refreshing, easy drinking beer, it is just not a particularly good IPA. Rating above to drinkability, below to style. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6
3.5Bottle. Poured a golden color with smaller head. Grapefruit citrus aroma. Slight lemon and orange also. Citrus hop taste. Medium bitterness. Average carbonation. It's pretty refreshing. Not as good as the Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin but still good.
3.3BOTTLE. (#1 2016). Clear straw pour with small "lager" head look.. Pink musk & grapefruit come through on the nose.. Crisp throughout , sweetness from the agave balances nicely with the acidic traits of the grapefruit.. Sourced Cellarbrations @ Capel
3.512 oz bottle. Clear golden color with minimal white head. Aroma is grapefruit and floral hops. Flavor is sweet tropical fruit start with grapefruit juice. Finish is grapefruit and floral hops. Very crisp and clean beer.
3.0Not one of the better IPAs from Victory. Sampled a bottle from the Craft Ale House in Limerick. The beer poured a cloudy, dark straw color with a very small, white head. The nose was crips and fruity, but the flavors just didn’t agree with me. All I tasted was brisk grapefruit and it left a sour flavor on my palate.
3.4Bottle labelled as "Release #1, 2016". Pours clear golden color with a 2-finger white head. Aroma is mild. Fruity, with a touch of tart grapefruit. Medium body, mildly oily. Brief, dry finish. Flavor mixes a fruity note (the agave?) with a sour grapefruit note at the back. A bit of a peppery note as it warms.
3.9Pours a golden color with a mild amount of head. Sweet and sour (like the Chinese food) aroma. Grapefruit is def there. Mouthfeel is moderate to sticky, especially for an IPA that’s 7%. Must be the Agave? Taste is tart and sweet. Grapefruit is def there but not too bitter. Overall, it’s a really good IPA with grapefruit. Well balanced, dry and sweet at the same time. Solid stuff. A lot of people said it was too sweet but I didn’t get that.
3.8Bottle. Hazy gold pour with thin lacy white head. Aroma is nice and fruity, very hoppy, tropical, agave nectar. Taste is bitter, very juicy, pink grapefruit, light piney bitterness, great hop. Palate is med-light bodied with soft carbonation, very easy drinking nice.
3.9100th Victory Brewing rating. Hazy golden pour thin white head. Grapefruit basement biscuit citrus. Moderately bitter and sweet. Medium lightly crisp body
2.8Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks DSG. Clear pale yellow with a nice creamy head. Aroma of stale citric hops. Sweet, fruity, tart, citrus and malt flavors, bitter finish. Light-bodied, sticky on palate.
3.0Musky hop aroma. Clear, pale. Crisp, nicely bitter, tangy. Didn’t really get the agave. Mouthy enough. On tap, St George Island Brewfest with LuckyDog.
2.8At a tasting, thanks, smallish head, quite clear metallic yellow color, aroma of herbs and light bread, with some paper in the back, light grapefruit flavor with some candy in the back, quite sour, unpleasant bitterness. Not really exciting but still drinkable.
3.1On tap at Schatzis. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Smells of grain, crackers, sweetness. Medium bodied, sweetness, weird booze, spicy hops. Grain into the finish, sweetness.
3.1Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Clear golden. Aroma of grapefruit, stale hops. Sourish and bitter flavor with grapefruit, a bit sweetish, graininess, and slightly stale hops. Medium-bodied. Not fresh enough but still alright.
3.5Aroma is agave/slight tequila, dank hops and a metallic hint. The flavor is grapefruit, agave/mild tequila, malts, a metallic hint and a mix of tart and bitter in the finish.
2.7Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer and Beyond, Tel Aviv. Clear yellow with white head. The aroma is somewhat lager-ish, sugary with notes of citrus. Sweet flavor followed by citrusy bitterness, very alcoholic, notes of grapefruit and some spiciness. Medium-bodied. Too alcoholic.
3.8Gold body with a minimal head. Nose features agave more than grapefruit. This doesn’t wow me by any means. However it is very drinkable. Some pepper and tequila complimented with citrus fruits. Flavor profile works pretty well. I would buy this again. The hops seem a little more muted so I can see how some may not care for this. I like it. Unique and good beer.
2.9Bottle. Light orange gold, rapidly receding head. Grapefruit juice, sweet in a fruit juice sense, bitter finish. I wasn’t crazy about this.
2.9Tasted from bottle. Pours a pale gold with really no head. Aroma is fruity and sweet with grapefruit notes. Taste is syrupy and thick on the palate. Very sweet. Flavors of grapefruit, ginger, fruit juice. Not bitter at all. Below average IPA.
3.3Pours a light golden with a white head that fades too quickly. Tangerine, lemon, peach, and grapefruit bouquet. Lighter body but a little oily. Peach, lemon, and apricot flavors.
3.2On tap at Giant Eagle in Grandview: gold pour, white head. aroma of tropical fruit, citrus rind. tastes are grassy, pine, citrus, floral.
3.1Nice little beer. Get some sweetness, must be the agave, a little tart as well from the citrus hops.
2.6Bottle (12 oz). Thanks to mathieuc for this one. Clear pale golden with a small easy to revive white head leaving little lacing. Flavors of agave - not a ton but still the main component - grapefrutis, herbal hops, citrus, mild piney notes and sweet notes. Taste feels much sweeter than it is - I’m looking at you agave syrup - with mild bitterness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Sweet and chemical finish. Very low drinkability because of the sweet-ish feeling and the lack of other interesting components to balance. Easy drainpour here.
3.4bottle courtesy of mathieuc, many thanks bro! seemingly a early january release, so a roughly four months old hop juice. pours hazy very light golden with a very small white cap offering minimal retention and lacing. faint grapefruit, some grapefruit-flavored candies, dusty other citrus, pine needles, very fruity maltiness - perhaps enhanced by agave syrup; very light and welcoming tartness from grapefruit juice; peppery wheatiness, clean yeast action. moderately low carbonation, light body - oily; very lightly tart and assertive minty-piney-grapefruity finish.
3.3Fresh grapefruit aroma and taste, light bitterness and thankfully not too much agave.
3.2[Bottle (12oz)] Pours a deep yellow-gold with an average size semi-lasting frothy white head. Mediocre aroma of grain, bready malt, light hops, light herbs and some fruit. Flavour of fruit, grain, citrus hops and an average bitter finish. Average bodied. Disappointing, just good.
