Victory Festbier

Victory Festbier

Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich.
All German hops make this lager true to style. Patient cold aging makes it wonderfully smooth. In bottles September through February

3.4 12 oz bottle. Smells of malt and caramel. Pours a nice amber with a white head that goes quickly. Big round malty and yeasty flavors in a complex combination. Medium carbonation and a short finish. Good marzen.
2.7 From a beer hawk case. Pours with a thin head. Dark amber. Taste of toffee and malt. Sweet.
3.4 On tap Das Biergarten. Deep amber body. Smells of bread and a little caramel. A little honey and floral hops. Tastes much the same. Bread, caramel, honey sweetness. Back end is very light floral hops with almost no bitterness. A touch sweet, or maybe just missing something to cut it. Medium body. Perfectly fermented, as always, but I expected this to be better.
3.5 Pours clear, dark copper with a bone white head. Aroma is light caramel and Munich hops. Taste is light caramel, moving to nuttiness and light spice. Finish is nutty. A very good oktoberest.
3.0 Bottle: Poured a bark brown with some super light orange edges, head was tan creamy. Aroma was sweet malts. Taste was sweet malts, little light watery in the finish.
3.5 Bottle. Bronze with a small head. Slightly malty with a strange port like flavour.Didn't resemble any beer of this type that I have tried before.Dont know if this is a good or a bad thing. Really confused about this one but will have to waiver on the side that it was pretty average.
3.8 Pours a slightly hazy amber with good level of carbonation and a thin white head. Aromas of lightly roasted malts, some caramel and a good dose of spicy noble hops. Taste is crisp and refreshing with a nice balance of roasted malt flavours, light fruitiness and caramel alongside a gentle hop spice bitterness. Very drinkable enjoyable lager; tastes much lighter than its 5.6% ABV.
3.8 The beer is brilliantly clear, rich Amber color. It is topped by a frothy, light tan colored head. In the aroma there are nutty caramelized automatic notes, a really wholesome, whole grain flavors and lots of brown bread notes. The flavor is very nutty, lots of toasted malt, whole grain bread, browned, and a light, brown bread sweetness. There is a light herbal now here, a hint of a metallic note in the finish, as well as a bit of a carbonic bite, and a light how bitterness that is just enough to longer. This is a really nice Oktoberfestbier. It is really hitting the spot right now.
3.2 bottled - clear amber color. Sweet malty aroma. Sweet refreshing malt flavor.
2.9 12 oz. bottle. Clear amber, off-white head. Aroma of malt, nuts, bread. Taste is malt, bread, nuts, honey, caramel. Finish is lightly sour.
3.4 Not anywhere as good as Dirt Wolf or some of their other beers. Just so-so for an Octoberfest.
1.8 Tap@Kerho, Tampere, Finland. Soft, balanced and simple. Caramell, sweet malts. Bit artificial earthy nuances. Balanced. Light body with medium carbonation. Overall, way too simple. But, no hops in American beer which is kinda positive. 4 2 2 3 7
3.3 Deep amber with a thin head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and yeast. Malty, smooth. Pretty nice.
2.9 Above medium carbonation. Malty but not as much as my preferred Oktoberfests. A bit thin and watery. Notes of caramel and toffee. No discernible bitterness to me. An OK fest beir but certainly not a stand out in the style. Lacking in character
2.8 12floz bottle, BBD: 01.01.2018, $10 paid for a six-pack, pint glass. Appears copper in color with clarity and nearly no head. Butterscotch aroma is more pronounced than many octoberfests I've tried. Tastes like buttered toast, which is in line for the style. Definitely drinkable, but is below average for the style in my opinion.
3.7 Quality marzen, alluring in its sweetness yet not indulgent, mixing caramel and toffee notes with a nutty backbone and undertones of toast and crackers. Finishes with a hint of lager esters and a tiny spark of floral noble hops. Nose is a bakery in full swing, and the pour's lovely, deep orange-brown with a thick white head and minimal lacing. Texture is seriously creamy, carbonated just enough to keep the malts from growing unwieldy but smooth as hell. Very good festbier.
3.4 Tried via blind taste test, guessed 3.4 Oktoberfest...a heavy malty Oktoberfest.
3.1 Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane's Beer and Wine. Appearance is clear copper with light sparkle, 2-finger width, off-white foamy head (after vigorous pour) with fair retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is crackers. Taste is mild caramel malt with earthy hop balance. Palate is light-to-medium smooth, silky texture, soft carbonation and lightly sweet finish. Overall, nice looking and feeling but aroma and taste are not terribly strong.
3.4 12oz bottle. Slightly hazed orange amber with a thin off-white head. Smooth pale malt, cracker, toffee sweetness, nuts, cereal. Mild hops. Smooth malt finish.
2.9 Light amber pour, spiced aroma. Medium malted body, with a light watery finish.
2.0 Nice aroma of bread baking. Deep orange color with a decent head. Very watery. Starts off bitter, then you get a burnt taste. It has a strong, horribly bitter finish. I hated it, sorry victory.
3.8 Smooth, malty, almost like a roasted cracker. Not your typical Oktoberfest beer. Reviewed - A Brew With You, Ep. 55
3.2 Bottle. Amber with an off white head. Aroma of malt sweetness, dark fruits. Medium body, medium sweetness, dark fruits.
3.0 (Bottle) Reddish amber colour with dense big, lasting, off-white head. Malty nose with treacle-toffee, dried fruit, figs, crisp-bread, wort and caramel. Malty taste with notes of treacle-toffee, dried fruit, wort, caramel, a slightly sharp malt profile and a finish with a mild bitterness and a slight acidity. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. A bit sharp and unbalanced, but decently drinkable. Enjoyable.
3.2 Bottle. Dark copper color. Biscuity toasty aroma. Some sweetness. Flavor has sweetness, lots of bready grain. Caramel notes. Not a Festbier, more like a Marzen.
3.2 12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma of caramel, sweet fruits, bread, and roasted malts. Has a nice balance between sweet malts and bitter hops. A dry smooth finish. Not too bad.
3.3 Bottle says enjoy by 19 dec 2016. Rated on 1/25/17. Aromas of toffee, honey, caramel, and some wet leaves. Taste is caramel, toffee, mineral water, and slight toast. honey, wet leaves in the finish. More toast and wet leaves in the after taste. I imagine it hasn’t fallen off too much.
3.1 Draft. Pours copper with light beige head that dissipates quickly. Bready malt and caramel flavors.
4.5 Aroma is deep bread crust, rich and robust..... one of the most impressive examples of malt depth in aroma. Appearance is dark copper crystal clear with bubbly head that dissipates slowly Taste is real deep complex malt, bright bread crust. A bit of tangy hopping but this is malt forward. An excellent example of the difference between malty and sweet.... as well as the toasty bread crust flavor found in well done lagers. Palate is creamy and smooth. Medium light and very soft. Overall a world class beer IMO. More of an Oktoberfest than Festbier. That said, maybe the best Oktoberfest I have had.... German or American. I got this six pack for $5.99... unbelievable. A near perfect example of one of the hardest to brew styles.
3.0 355ml bottle from Appellation Wines, Comely Bank. Pours clear dark amber with no real head. Aromas of metallic malt, honey. Taste is tea, honey, faint floral bitterness at the back. Slightly sticky.
