4.3 Solid smooth belgian.Nice spices,some banana,almost a wheat
3.3 Peachy coloured with medium large head. Full-bodied, fruity, spicy, sweet and candy.
3.6 Popular triple from Victory and an established brand with a bunch of offshoots. I was surprised to see that I hadn't rated it yet. I can't say it was especially exciting but it checks the right boxes.
4.2 19.09.2020 AR: belgische Hefe, Banane, Gewürze AP: trübes (gold)gelb TA: belgische Hefe, Banane, Gewürze, süss
4.0 Keg at Bailey’s Taproom, Portland, OR on 27/09/2010. I really liked this, and thought it was a very on point Belgian style tripel, with just a bit of a new world twist. Slightly more stand out hop flavours and bitterness, rather than leaving almost everything to the yeast.
3.8 Clear amber body with a mid sized persistent white head. Aroma is fruity, spicy. Taste is fruity esters (banana, Apple), cloves, peppery, candy sugar. Dry and spicy finish. Medium body soft carbonation oily texture
3.2 Crowler from Brewdog Inverurie. It pours rich oily deep gold with a nice fluffy white head. The aroma is rich and toothy, cereal, spicy, herbal almost, ginger & honey, rich maltage, farmhouse bread and hay. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, rich, oily, slick, earthy, honeyed grain, ginger & honey tea, toothy, bready malts, herbal, grass, orange peel and big old slap of boozy boost with a spicy and dry woody finish. Medium+ body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Punchy, spicy and herbal. Not bad.
2.9 Sweet and syrupy --- I'm thinking it tasted like cough medicine.
3.1 Keg at Brewdog shepherds Bush. A light hazed dull golden orange coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is semi sweet, caramel, toffee, vanilla, pale malts, little waxy,. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, caramel malts, honey, mild Belgian yeast, clove, alcohol bite, little toffee apple notes. Palate is semi sweet, too sweet, little oaky tannin, mellow carbonation. Meh.
3.7 (Bottle) Clear medium yellow body with a medium white head that quickly recedes into a thin layer. Aroma of banana and ripe fruit, yeast, and spices. Flavor is moderately sweet and malty, yeasty, banana, light spice (coriander), some bubblegum. Medium body, oily mouthfeel.
3.7 First had this gem in 2005, but rating it now. Poured into a European tulip glass. Nose is a terrific combo of banana and cloves. Golden hue and fluffy, white head. Super smooth for such a high ABV. Honey tongued and warm feeling - like a medicinal experience of feeling mellow and warmth in the gut. Incredible mastering of the brewing process. Cheers!
3.7 Clear golden pour with modest head and slight lacing. Esters create a banana experience up front, some apricot and citrus. A clean, sweet alcohol mouthfeel with a hint of bittering at the end. A delightful Belgian.
3.1 12 oz. can. AROMA: Scents of cloves and cinnamon with undertones of banana and lemon. APPEARANCE: Pours a clear, straw-gold color with a tall, tight, frothy head that dissipates at a moderate pace with some average lacing. TASTE: Moderately sweet with just a touch of sourness on the backend. Clove is the predominant flavor (though, not overpoweringly so) followed by banana and spice. MOUTHFEEL: Body is on the thin side. Not watery, but not hefty enough to be considered medium. Texture is smooth with a touch of slickness. Carbonation is mild and the finish is medium. OVERALL: The flavors in this beer are not super bold, but you can definitely taste them without much effort. Although, I do feel like they are a little watered-down. I would especially like to have just a bit more banana flavor. I truly was expecting to really like this beer, but as I drink it, I am just feeling "meh" about it. In the end, I wish the flavors were a little more amped up, it had a skosh more body, and that it had more carbonation. Don't get me wrong, this is not a "bad" beer by any means (in fact, I will probably have another right after I finish this review). It's just that I've had way better Belgian Tripels, and know that there is room for improvement.
2.0 Didn’t expect to get that much banana flavor. Not being a fan of bananas, no surprise this wasn’t for me.
4.5 Blonde, tres forte style Belge, pas amere, epicee, orangee
4.5 Great flavor
3.6 Cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma is Sweet malt with cloves. Flavor is fruity malt with cloves and citrus finish.
3.9 12 oz. can (canned 04MAR20 - consumed 11APR20) into a glass chalice. A slight chill haze clouded a basically clear, pale gold body. A sudsy, 1/2-finger, white head dissipated quickly and left some early lacing. Both a thin head and early aroma could be marginally regenerated with a vigorous swirl. Nose featured scents of banana, clove, cookie dough, spices and a hint of candi sugar sweetness. Taste followed with notes of banana, coriander, biscuity malts and perhaps a trace of stone fruits. There was also a slight trace of a soapy, solvent-like bite late. Moderate mouthfeel, mild carbonation. ABV was well-hidden, surfacing only as a mild burn at the finish.
3.3 Keg tap at BrewDog Leicester. Dark gold, slightly hazy with an uneven ring of white head. Butterscotch, vanilla, hay, floral notes on the nose with a layer of candy sugar. Taste doesn't come together as well. It's sweet to the point of cloying, with some hoppy kickback in the finish. More hay and a touch of TCP in the finish. Tastes more like an imperial golden than a Tripel, although it's enjoyable enough it isn't Victoria's greatest, erm, victory.
3.7 Hazy golden appearance. Aroma is light, floral and hops. Flavour is floral, hops, smooth and sweet.
3.9 Pours a clear golden yellow with a thin white head. The flavor has some banana, cloves, and some pine notes. The finish was kind of dry, but very good. I will definitely try this beer again!
3.5 Golden, cloudy with a white head. Fruit, wooden barrels, spices and some banana sense. MEdium bitter with a fruit, banana and spices finnish.
3.4 People were saying banana and it turns out they were right, although there are other more tripely fruits as well. It doesn't quite have that Belgian lighter-than-it-should-be thing down. Dry at the end. Good, but not great. Poured from a can.
3.3 Gold hay color with wheat, peppercorn aroma. Taste has mild banana, Belgian yeast, oak and spice notes. Pretty weak for a Tripel; still drank 6 in one night.
2.8 Bottle from Public Wine. Golden straw, fairly clear. Thin head. Strong bitter banana aroma. Heavy on the sugar with some cloves. A little heavy handed
3.3 Golden with a white head. Aroma of banana and apple with a touch of spice. Taste is a bit marshmallow sweet but yeasty. Pleasant enough.
3.8 Crisp, citrus, high ABV
2.9 Sweet light baking spice with a touch of apple. Clear gold with a decent white head. Bubblegum and a touch of spice. Estery as hell and a bit too sweet.
2.4 Can. I'm not a fan of Belgian style beers. This one was typical translucent straw colored beer. Way too strong 9.5% ABV. "Spicy," slightly sweet. Requires sipping, and I had to add ice to keep it cold, because it took so long to finish it.
2.6 It has a taste at the end of the drink that is a little smoky.
