Victory Headwaters Pale Ale

Victory Headwaters Pale Ale

The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

3.5 Puszka 330ml. Klarowny złoty kolor. Piana biała, średnia o drobnych pęcherzach, zdobi szkło. Intensywny aromat owoców tropikalnych z mango marakują na czele, ananas , brzoskwinia w tle. Trochę karmelu i czerwonych pomarańczy w tle. Smak nie idzie w parze ze słodkimi nutami w zapachu. Cytrusowe albedo , owoce tropikalne, skórki chlebowe, karmel. Duza goryczka na finiszu,ciągnie się na języku.Niezły balans, wysycenie średnie.
3.2 June 2017. Sweet, sweet nectar on top of an Aldi Cotleigh. Dimpled white over lazing gold. Peach and orange jelly with tinned satsuma, honey and bile aroma. Spruce and orange peel bitter hop with honey and lemon lozenge and menthol notes. Soapy and perfumed. Pleasant but unexceptional.
3.6 12oz bottle pours out golden topped with a white head. Nose is citrus hops forward a little floral and bread malts. Taste is more of the nice orange grapefruit citrus hops and a light malty end.
3.4 Nice golden color. foamy head. The tase is real fruity grapefriut and lemon mostly and a hint of melon.nit too sweet. good bitterness at the end. Overall nicely done
3.3 12 fl. oz. can from a Beer Hawk mystery box. Grassy and citrus hops on the nose with a light and sweet flavour in the mouth. Seems to me to have the malt backbone of a pilsner with some of the hop profile to match, but leading to a much more biscuity taste in the finish. Nice and refreshing, a tasty beer.
3.7 Can from the Beer Hawk advent calendar. Clear, golden with a big, white head. The aroma is sweet with citrus and pine. The taste is astringent, bitter and piney.
3.6 From a beer hawk mystery case. Pours golden orange with a thin head. Mild hop aroma. Taste of tea and lemon with lovely medium hops.
3.6 Bottle. Pours a nice pale yellow. Aroma. sweet floral aroma. Taste. mild but still noticeable piney bitterness up front, followed by grapefruit and tropical flavours. Overall. quite a good beer, near it's expiry, so may of gotten a better score if it was more fresh.
3.6 Can from Beer Hawk. Pours clear amber, white foam head. Clean, fresh hop taste and a pleasing hop bite. Refreshing
3.6 355ml bottle. Pours orange. Floral, orange, tea, earthy, herbal, nice biscuit finish. Pretty nice.
3.3 Can at home in Beer Hawk advent calendar. Very American with the shouty hops and sweetness and although pleasant enough the abv is too strong for it to be sessionable.
4.0 Clear amber ale. Nice citrus taste
3.8 Pours a clear golden colour with thin white head and average carbonation. Big New World hop aromas, lemons and oranges and a slight spiciness. Taste is medium bodied, big citrus fruity flavours with a lemony tartness, caramel from the malt and grapefruit and piney flavours coming from the hops. Really crisp and refreshing with a clean, bitter hop linger. Enjoyable American IPA.
3.5 Clear deep amber colour with medium white foam. Aromas sweet of honey, hops with tropical fruit notes and slight hints of orange peel and peppers. Palate, medium body with smooth texture leaving dry finish. Taste, little watery, peppery and soily with herbal bitter hop notes. Overall, interesting brew not too hoppy but still has bit of a punch.
2.4 Appearance was good, with a nice creamy head. Aroma was good too, citrusy (seems to be the case for many ales!). However, it was quite bitter! Not sure I could handle more than a couple.
3.3 Pours amber with a white head. Aroma is grass, malt, bread. Taste is lemon, malt, leading to an earthy, slightly bitter finish that lingers for a good while. Thin bodied, low carbonation. Pretty nice!
3.6 Very nice looker, Fairly nice taste. Jen preferred it to Andy but we’d both have again
3.4 Can. A well hopped ale, but with a good biscuit malt base to balance it. This comes across more as an English than American ale to me. Quite earthy, but with hints of citrus fruit too.
3.4 330ml can. in a Duvel tulip : Golden beer with a decent creamy head. Hoppy lemon grapefruit and crackers nose : Drinks with an assertive bitterness that's fruity , dry and crisp. A light malt backdrop with an ok feature . a bit thin . This would be best sank down on a hot july morning doing redneck things .
3.0 Bottle, slightly over BB. Deep amber, low head. Light resinny aroma, honey, oldschool. Crystal malt sweet base, light paper/oxidized. grassy, light cheesy, resinny. Ok despite its age.
3.5 355 ml bottle (BB 28.09.2017). Beer of an orange-deep gold colour, with a small head. The aroma is fruity, grainy, with some notes of something like butter or a pancake. The taste is quite fine, piney, caramel sweet with some herbs. The bitterness is moderate and pleasant. Solid beer, although I'm sure I would've enjoyed it more if it wasn't 3 weeks from expiring.
4.5 Bright amber pour. Sweet pleasant floral aroma, fruity with grainy background. This beer tastes good and has a nice creamy mouth feel. Very refreshing.
3.7 12floz can, BBD: 07.13.2017, ~$1.75 unit price, nonic glass. Appears golden with some bubbles to support an ample, yet restrained head. Mild-moderate hop salient aroma of herb-apricot. A good balanced sessionable beer with equal parts toasted bread flavor from the malts and citrus tinged herb bitterness from the hops. I can go for this again.
2.5 -On tap Røør, Oslo- Tea, malty and herbal. Light dry finish. Nothing really stands out.
3.0 Can from Asda. My first Victory. Smells a bit eggy. Quite a full, dense tasting ale. Nothing really standing out bar a good mouthfeel. It's ok. It would get a higher mark but for the pong.
3.4 Gold with a fine head taste caramel grassy hop dry and well carbonated. Can picked up in asda.
3.2 Very refreshing. Extremely hoppy with a sharp finish. Another great Victory beer
3.2 Pours amber from the bottle and leaves a frothy white crown. Aroma is mild: a bit of citrus, a touch butterscotch, not much else. Taste is mildly bitter, dry, lightly sweet undertone in the finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. All in all, a decent ale for casual consumption. Mild mannered, inoffensive, okay.
3.6 Can at Beerdock Leek. Pours a clear golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma of lemon, slight grapefruit, subtle pale malts and some floral hops. Taste of lemon, some grapefruit, slight pale malts, a little pine, a hint of tea and subtle floral hops. Light bodied and moderate carbonation. A lingering, dry, citrus hop bitterness in the finish. A simple, US hopped APA, I’m guessing cascade. Light and refreshing.
2.9 355ml Bottle from Asda, Glasgow (£1.82): Disappointing stuff here from Victory, the beer opened well with nice tropical fruits & a lot of pine with some citrus in there as well but in both the nose & the taste these all passed quickly & left little more than a bland, basic beer that was more lager than pale ale. There was the odd touch of earthy bitterness, a faint hint of floral & some biscuit malts but none of these was overly pronounced & the beer just seemed boring & weak throughout; I’d expected much better.
