Victory Sunrise Weissbier

Victory Sunrise Weissbier

As invigorating as the morning rays of the summer sun, Sunrise Weissbier satisfies when the heat is on, too. This unfiltered, Bavarian style ale is true to its origins with all ingredients except for the water having been imported from Germany. It remains unfiltered to feature the tangy, fruity flavors of its unique yeast. The imported German malt contributes greatly to add a crisp, citric snap that makes this beer a superb summertime refresher.

3.6 Reviewed from notes (2007). A: Hazy yellow with a moderate white head. S: Citrus, wheat and banana power forward T: Lemon-Wheat standard for a hefeweizen with a hint of spice that adds some charm M: Light and smooth.. goes down clean O: Refreshing and drinkable when the weather is mild/warm
3.4 Bottle. Pours golden with a thick white head. There is a lot of carbonation in this beer. Smells floral. Tastes like a light wheat with a belgian flair. This isn’t my favorite style but I like it.
3.1 On draft, poured a cloudy orange with a decent fluffy whit head. Aromas of banana, clove, and a touch of wheat. Flavor has orange, clove, some spice, and wheat. A nice beer to enjoy while cooking out.
3.5 A light gold color, smooth with a clean finish. Not a strong over powering taste. Cost is on the high side.
4.4 MMmmmm goood beer. Served with a nice, thick, foamy, frothy off white head that lasts a while and good lacing. Color is an almost clear yellow amber and lots of bubble trails. Aroma is a divine blend of malt, banana, spices, bubblegum, yeast. Flavor is classic Bavarian Weisse - malt, citrus, yeast, bit of sweet tart. Body is very good although still a little soft and great carbonation. Finish is like flavor, of good length, clean and slow taper. Very good, session beer.
3.6 Bright yellow color with a tall white head. Mostly a piney citrus aroma. Taste is slightly bitter with a chewy mouthfeel. Finishes crisp and clean. Very light and refreshing!
3.8 Aroma of light clover, hay, lemon and bubblegum. Appearance is well carbonated cloudy gold with white head. Flavor has mostly bubblegum and lemon up front, with a touch of clover in the finish. Palate is veru bubbly and tingly on the tongue. Very nice for the style.
3.6 pours hazy yellow with a lasting creamy white head and some lacing. aroma is fresh citrus, floral notes, and yeast. body is a little lite but not bad. taste is lemon peel, banana, coriander, and yeast. finish is sweet an a bit peppery.
3.4 A: The beer pours a hazy light golden orange color with a finger of white head. S: Starts off with a nice aroma of clove and white pepper. There is a touch of nutmeg along with the sweet banana notes. Fairly sweet with some wheat, bread, and a fair amount of bubblegum. T: The flavor has quite a bit of bubblegum to it along with a nice banana note. The clove flavor is a bit more subdued than I had hoped, but it is there, particularly on the finish. A bit too carbonated, unfortunately, which kills a bit of the malt flavor. M: Light in body with a medium to high carbonation and a really crisp feeling on the tongue. O: An easy to drink hefeweizen (as they should be). Could have used a bit more yeast contribution to it, but still alright.
4.2 Excellent hefe. Almost as good as Paulaner, but not quite. This style is one of my favorites, and this beer is one of the best. Excellent on a hot summer day.
3.7 12 oz. bottle in a shaker. Highly carbonated golden pour with heavy white head. Crisp lemon aroma. Has a nice bite for a hefeweizen. Very smooth and refreshing.
3.6 12 oz bottle given to me by AirforceHops. Poured hazy honey yellow with a thick bubbly white head that diminished to a thin layer. Nose is of honey, citrus, wheat and spice. Makes my mouth water just looking at it. Hard to see the carbonation in the glass but the bubbles you do see are active. Taste is banana, lots of spice, lemon with lots of wheat in the finish. The carbonation leaves your mouth tingly leaving your belly full. Reminds me sort of champagne. It’s a nice brew. Thanks AirForceHops.
3.5 Bottle from Harvard’s in Augusta. Pours cloudy dark golden color with white head. Aromas of wheat, lemon, banana and clove. Wheat and banan flavors with a hint of lemony tartness and some clove. Light to medium body with lively carbonation. Crisp and refreshing. A decent hefe.
4.0 On tap at Zeno’s. Hazy light gold with thin white head. Aroma is lemongrass. Flavor is lemongrass with a touch of funk. Delicious.
3.2 Hazy gold pour, not much head. Flavor is wheat and some banana, very small bite from the carbonation at the end. All around a good wheat beer.
3.3 Great banana and clove flavors you come to expect from a unfiltered German style beer. Just a little low on carbonation, and it’s a little watery. I’m really liking the grain bill, very fresh
3.2 18 July 2011, tap at the brewery. pale yellow and faintly whitish. nose is more of a coriander weisbier than banana. med body and faintly fizzy. slight banana w/ light coriander. nice but very soft and delicate for a weizen.
3.4 12oz bottle. very ligh gold, fluffy white head. light citrus aroma, lemons, grass. bright taste, crisp. yeast. nice hot summer beer.
3.5 Bottle. 12 oz. Pours light hay yellow with a fluffy, frothy white head. Leaves a flat surface after awhile. Aroma of lemon, saltine crackers, soft lavender and honey, and slight notes of must and cotton candy. Very odd nose. Medium to light bodied with a slightly hefty, yet roomy and soft palate. Very tangy, tart, and crisp citrus and sugary fruit hop flavors abound. Smooth, clean, quick finish. Very good thirst quencher, indeed.
3.2 Cloudy yellow with white head. The aroma is faint lemons, banana, and clove. Not much to it. Flavor is a bit sour with lemons mostly and some bread and bananas. Overall this was ok.
2.8 I think there’s a bit of halo effect going on here. Pours slighty amber from tap. It’s not nearly as cloudy as most hefe’s I’ve encountered. The Banaba and clove on the nose is subdued. It lays fairly flat on the tongue. This one isn’t doing much for me.
3.6 Pours almost a clear gold, minimal hazyness, with white head. Aroma was clove, citrus and wheat. Taste was sweet and a little spicey. Nice crisp finish to this weiss, it is perfecy for a hot summer day.
3.6 Thanks to Leafs93 for this one. Pours a golden yellow color with a white foam head. Aroma of candy sugar, banana, and clove. Has a sweet malty taste with notes of banana and clove. Not as crisp as I would like from a weiss.
4.1 Victory really makes some quality brews. This one is no exception. Great fruity flavor, grassy hops, and small/light bitterness. Well balanced, has some earthy notes in the taste/texture. Probably one of the best hefes out there.
3.7 Bottle. Pour is straw yellow with a massive white head which leaves excellent lacing/retention. Aroma is banana, clove, lemon, fruity esthers. Flavor is yeasty, sweet, fruity. Palate is light, creamy, fizzy carbonation. Very crisp and refreshing.
3.7 Pours a hazy, pale orange gold with a white, rapidly receding head. Lemon, clove, banana aroma. Flavor is slightly sweet, but crisp, mildly spicy and with some citrus tang. Tasty and refreshing.
2.5 Bottle from Cavie. Murky yellow with a small white head. Aroma is bananas and sweet grain. Taste is musty, banana, spice, and a little twang in the finish.
3.3 Bottle courtesy D-Row. Pours a slightly hazy light golden color with a soft fizzy white head. Aroma is all kinds of banana and citrus notes. Also very spicy. Lovely aroma. Flavor is also lots of citrus and dry fruit peel. This has a dry spiciness as well. Well flavored but intense.
2.6 From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity/citrusy. Mild estery, wheaty and light citrusy. Dry and estery wheaty into the finish.
4.4 Wow. Doesn’t get much better then this. Taste of banana and coriander and spice. Brilliant for a warm day in the shade.
