3.1 A bad short light brown head. Very orange amber color. Big aroma from caramell. The caramell also is dominant in the taste with a big residual sweetness. Good body and hop balance.
3.7 2017/05/14 - Pours a hazy, deep orange honey colour with a soapy white head that quickly dissipates and leaves no lacing. Aroma is Belgian yeast, banana, bubblegum, toffee, honey, brown sugar, candied fruit (pears, orange, dark fruit) and sweet bread. Taste is more candied fruit, bready yeast notes, toffee, honey, medicinal notes and sweet alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium to full and syrupy with smooth carbonation and a sweet, medicinal, warming finish. I found this to be almost too sweet, but overall rather enjoyable.
4.1 Pours a nice golden amber colour with a little white head and no lacing. Aroma of candy, toffee. Tastes of candy, Belgium yeast. A nice beer
3.7 Poured a gold amber. Lots of sugar and caramelized fruits like pear and apple. Some yeast and alcohol burn
4.1 Amber pour, small head. Nose of thick, sweet honeyed malt, Belgian yeast, carnelized pears, other sticky dripping cooked fruits. Again sweet, honeyed, and caramelized fruits on the mouth. Nice yeast that keeps it grounded and not cloying. Some various grains shine through in the middle/finish. Impressive beer from Victory.
3.2 A malted sugar bomb. honey and dark sugars. No hop balance. Very in your face. Intense and strong sugars. Not my thing.
3.7 (Bottle) Cloudy orange-red copper body with big, quickly dissipating off-white head. Big malty aroma, alcohol, fruit/orange, honey, some spices, vanilla. Light to medium body; mostly flat. Alcohol is very prominent, warming. Flavor has bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, moderate yeast; strong bitterness.
4.2 Dark orange color with small off-white head and very little oily lacing. Aroma is fruity and sweet with figs and raisins, caramel malts, and bubblegum. Flavor is rich, with caramel malts and vinous notes, sweet raisins, and medicinal robitussin notes. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy, with slight alcohol presence. Very good overall- delicious! And only $7.99 for the 750!
3.2 A distinctly malty beer with notes of honey. It's definitely on the sweeter side for an ale.
4.1 From a bomber. Pours out a light copper and makes a medium beige head. Aroma is of caramel, booze, and brown sugar. Tastes of dark fruits, malted barley, and yeast. A very good interpretation of the Belgian quad.
4.2 Bottle from the source, cellared for about six years, although the "bottled on" date is blank. Chillhazy amber color, big fluffy very light tan head. Aroma has caramel candy, vanilla, light spice. Taste is lightly peppery sweet caramel and brown bread. Silky smooth mouthfeel with little hint of booze. Delicious.
3.7 Cloudy, orange-brown with frothy off-white head. The aroma has apricot and white grape with a hint of cheese. It has a full, smooth body with average carbonation. The taste is sweet and boozy with a warm finish.
3.7 Pours a hazy copper with a thick off-white head that dissipates to a clumpy lace. Aromas of candied fruit, toffee and a bit of grass.Toffee, stewed fruit, spice, grass, earthy hops, bready tones and black pepper in the flavors. Noticeable booziness. Lively carbonation. Peppery mouthfeel. Quite good.
3.6 Golden orange color. Caramel, ripe fruits, honey. Taste of sweet fruits, caramel, honey, some yeast. Alcoholic taste during the finish but well balanced.
4.0 750 ml corked and caged bottle, bottled on 09 NOV 2015. Served in a DFH Signature glass, the beer pours a slightly hazy copper color with about an inch and a half off-white head that stayed around for a really long time. There’s also a lot of lacing. The brew smells like dark fruit (plum, raisins), caramel malt, peppery spice, and some clove. Taste is similar to the aroma, the brew tastes like plums, raisins, banana, pears, peppery spice, clove, dried fruit and bready malt. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. It was also smooth and easy to drink. I thought this was good, overall. It’s not my favorite quad out there but it’s certainly worth trying. $7.99 a bottle.
3.1 Thanks to my cousin Rey to introduce me to this fine Belgian Quad. Excellent taste.
3.7 Bottle. Over-ripe orange/apricot, caramel malt, grass/fresh hay, and alcohol aroma. Cloudy amber with small head. Very sweet apricot, orange, yeast, caramel malt, and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Moderately strong alcohol finish. A pleasant sipper.
4.1 Served on tap at Victory. Slight haze orange Amber color with an off white head. Fruit Apple citrus yeast aroma. Apple apricot Belgium yeast flavor. Medium heavy body.
1.7 2009 rotboxe special courtesy of a-ron. Wowe, T. Hanks, bro. Pours a likely Amber. Floaties and shit. Sweet as all get out. High boost. Took me two goes to chug this whole beast. Gross.
3.6 I had this once in college and it was syruppy and cloying but zi knew jack shit about beer then, so i had to try it again like 10 years later. Pours amber, decent size light tan head. Plum, yeast, banana, clove. Thick body, strong booze burn, kts better than i remeber but what evs.
3.1 Tailspin beerfest. Tailspin beerfest tailspin beerfest tailspin beerfest tailspin beerfest
3.9 Hazy light brown with a thin head. Aroma is malty, Belgian yeast, and dark fruits. Smooth, well-masked alcohol content. Very nice.
3.7 I can tell that this is a very good quad ale in the belgium style. sweet syrupy beers are not my thing so i just kinda enjoy this, but not enough to want another sip.
4.6 Aroma: caramel, Belgian yeast, fruitcake Appearance: clear amber with a tan head Taste: medium sweetness, medium bitterness, Palate: medium body, creamy, average carbonation, long finish, Delicious
3.6 Bottle. Faintly cloudy dark amber color with large foamy off-white head, faint bread aroma, high carbonation, vanilla like Belgian yeast flavor, sweetish taste with a hint of hoppy bitterness, medium sweet finish. Very smooth and well hidden alcohol content.
3.9 It pours amber in color with a slightly off white head. The aromas present are raisins, plums, noticeable alcohol, bread, pepper, and spices. The tastes are high on the sweet flavors of fruit and the malts. The fruits are more plums than raisins, bread, spices, a hint of caramel, and alcohol. There is significant alcohol warming, but not enough to create a burn. it has a heavy feel to it and is somewhat dry.
4.0 From notes (08/01/2015). A very good approximation / interpretation of traditional Belgian Quads. The malt and hop bills are intentionally very simple, resulting in a not quite complex but still very impressive beer. Aromas of stone fruits and yeast are followed by a more of the same in the taste. Great dark reddish brown color. Reminiscent of some of the uber-rare Trappist XII’s, but at a much better price point.
3.5 December 22, 2015. Bottle. Hazy orange amber with a tiny white head, quickly dissipating leaving a small ring around the edge. Aroma is sweet malty with sugar, caramel, hints of dried fruits, hints of sweet fruity esters, slight spicy and boozy. Taste is sweet, slight boozy and light bitter. Finish is sweet malty, fruity, light boozy with pear, apricots, sugar, caramel, sultanas. Medium bodied, oily texture, average, small carbonation. Decent, a bit boozy and estery.
3.7 25.4oz bottle into a Krombacher Pils glass. Pours a bronzed orange Amber with thick Amber highlights. Large white head when poured full throttle. Simmers to a thin layered head, loose lacing lingers. Aroma of boozy orange, gin, chamomile, grass, yeast, floral tones, more booze. Taste of tart ripe orange peel, booze, gin, nectar, bread, glazed rum nuggets, saison spices, more booze. A slow relaxing sipper on solo excursion four or five, liquid luxury indeed.
