A swirling dynamo of flavor, with a steady calm of satisfaction at its heart, that's Whirlwind Witbier. Offering a tamed tempest of flavors both spicy and sublime, this softly fermented ale greets the nose and tingles the tongue. Imported Belgian yeast charges Whirlwind with an energy all its own. It is a refreshing interpretation of the classic, Belgian 'white beer' style.

3.412 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured gold, cloudy, thin white head and no lacing. Aroma of fruit, coriander and yeast. Taste is quite consistent lots of spices, fruit notes and grain and yeast notes. Pleaseant and quite drinkable.
3.312 oz bottle from Tipsy’s into a pint glass. Pale gold, slight hazy appearance with a white head. Aroma of coriander, clove, bready malts, yeast, toasted grains, citrus zest and light peppery spice. Similar flavor, spicy, herbal, bready, toasted. Light to mild bitterness and light sweetness.
3.0Julie did not taste with me so therefore she's not going to have an opinion average a week beer but enjoyable enough to have again
3.2"pours a cloudy yellow. can’t see through it but i had to almost throw it in the glass to get any head, which quickly went away. looks flat in the glass. aroma of banana, clove and citrusy yeast and fruit. flavor a cross between a hefe (banana/clove) and a wit (orange peel...is there coriander in here?), and ends up being a little thin and confused as none of the aspects stand out. the feel saves it. tingles on the tongue and last well after your sip. a bit of a letdown from a great brewery. wits have to be standouts to impress me. this one is not, but it ain’t bad either. right on the line
3.7good wit aroma with yeast honey banana and some big woody spiciness -- flavor has same characteristics with good clean malt presence smooth yeastiness and woodiness- palate is clean full and short lived - not radical or barnyardy but a deliciously solid wit
3.1Bottle. Clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma is pretty much all wheat. Taste adds some citrus and floral notes. Thin, prickly carb and short finish. Ok.
3.412 oz bottle. Hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is of wheat, yeast, light lemon, straw. Taste is of straw, wheat, coriander, spices, and light citrus.
3.2Bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy orange with a small, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is coriander, orange peel, spicy wheat malt, earthy yeast spices and black pepper. Flavor is coriander, medium wheat malt, orange peel, and a sweet finish. Light body and medium carbonation.
3.4Bottle. The look is golden in color, thin white head, and it has a slight haze. The smell is wheat, fruits, spice, perfume, floral, malt, and yeast. The taste the same with some juiciness.
3.2Bottle 355ml.
Pours very slightly whitish blond with low white head. Aroma is of grain, wheat, citrus, coriander. Taste is of grain, wheat, sugar. Palate: Medium-high carbonation. Light-medium body. Overall: A tad bland adn too straight-forward. Appearance lacking.
3.312 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy straw color with almost no white head. Plenty of carbonation though. Aroma of yeast and a touch of sourness along with some bready malt. Taste is almost the same without the sour notes. Fairly clean finish - some sweetness comes. Interesting.
3.7Rated from notes taken on 2 Jul 2011 -- Tasted at a sampling. This, in my opinion, is exactly as a Belgian Wit should be. Classic example.
3.1Bottle from the Victory summer box. Weakest of the lot IMO. Pours yellow-gold with some haze and very little carb. Aroma is Belgian yeast, wheat, coriander, a bit of malty sweetness. Taste is more of the same with cereal / grains. Drinks easy but a bit bland.
3.4This is a pretty good take on style, I’d say. It is yellow and a bit hazy with a short lived head of fine bubbles. It’s nose is popcorn graininess, some pleasant floral notes and a pleasant bready yeast character. This is lightly sweet but dried out by creamy and vigorous carbonation and is medium bodied. That sweetness seems to punctuate the Cap’n Crunch cereal graininess in the nose which is something I have always liked but is not exactly traditional to the style here. It finishes w/ some lingering floral tones and a touch of citrus that brings to mind coriander. Definitely a tasty beer but probably I would call it a Belgian single or something rather than a witbier. It just doesn’t have the full yet light palate of a good wit or really the same flavor profile at all. That doesn’t make it a bad beer though.
3.512oz bottle from the summer mix 12. Pours a pee like golden, definitively unfiltered with small sediment floating around and plenty bubbles. Not looking overly carbonated though; also has a white head that fizzes away immediately. Smells heavily of spices, orange and coriander. Relatively light bodied and perfect carbonation for the style, just a little bite. Despite the strong smell of spices, orange and coriander, this is much lighter and not too flavorful. Relatively dry, easy drinking, light, session wit for sure.
3.4Bottle (12). Enjoy by 09 may 2015. Courtesy of Minderbinder, thanks! Clear golden with a small disappearing white head and little lacing. Aroma is gentle with light spiciness (mostly coriander), hints of citrus, some belgiumness and cereals. Taste is mild with coriander, light citrus, hints of acitity and light breadied cereals. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Decent Witber. Mild and drinkable. Balance isn’t bad and spices aren’t overwhelming.
3.6Aroma is spices, medium/strong orange peel and wheat. The flavor is spices, citrus, wheat, malts/grains and a mildly tart/sour finish.
3.4Bottle. Aroma is spicy Belgian yeast. The taste follows suit adding orange peel. High carb. Pretty good.
3.312 oz bottle. Pours light golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy, white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of wheat malt, yeast, banana, citrus and spices. Body is medium and smooth. Wheat malt, spices, candy sugar, banana fill the mouth. Finish is medium, semi-dry.
Taste more like Hefe than Wit.
3.112 oz bottle from backlog notes 07. Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have wheat malts, lemon citrus, mild spices, and yeast. Pretty basic with nothing that really stands out.
3.5Bottle pours hazy yellow with big head. Aroma is light pale malt with some classic belgian wit esters. Taste is similar with a spicy dry finish.
3.6A cloudy yellow color. Balanced and crisp summer session brew. Comes through with spices, coriander, peppercorns, yeast, lemon zest, wheat, grass. Actually a tad bitter on the back end. Flavor tapers off and finishes quite dry. Medium carbonation. One of the good wits.
3.5Hazy straw-orange colored body, medium sized white head and soapy lacing. Orange zest, some wheat notes, light yeast spice. Medium to light bodied, moderate carbonation, moderately sweet, rounded finish. Solid beer. Nice to see this coming back after its hiatus.

Served in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance – Served a hazy orange-yellow color with a big white head. The head faded very fast giving very light lacing.
Smell – The aroma is heavy and yeasty with a nice wheaty backbone. A bit of lemon and some spice of clove and pepper is mixed throughout. Very classic witbier.
Taste – Wheaty up front with a nice yeastiness mixed in. Some spices are present up front but actually rather light. More toward the end the lemon in the nose becomes more pronounced in flavor and leaves a slightly bitter flavor in the mouth.
Mouthfeel – It is a medium bodied brew with a slightly higher than normal carbonation level. This coupled to its lighter body and lower abv make it very drinkable.
Overall - As with most witbier in my opinion, it is good for a
good session brew while sitting and drinking outside on a nice warm sunny day.
3.2Rated on 6-21-2009 (Bottle) This beer forms a small very fizzy white head that mostly diminished, cloudy pale yellow body, floaties, spotty amounts of lacing, fizzy, and fast rising carbonation. The Aroma is yeasty, citrus hops, sweet, fruity, and spicy. The Taste is sweet, spicy, fruity, and lightly yeasty. The Palate is tingly and this beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this beer is easy to drink and a beer I consider to be a session beer. It is refreshing on a hot Indiana summer day and is worth trying.
2.8Old rate. Standardas it gets super light and airy, some weird maltiness. IIWI.
4.0Date tasted: July 5, 2013... Glassware: Rare Vos shaker... Occasion: camp week #1 in the books, and reviewing an old friend....Appearance: pale straw haze; thin off-white head that stills quickly; appears easy-drinking but not overly attractive ... Aroma: tart citric bouquet, with orange and lemon scents softly against some pepper--more intriguing combination than the average summer wit... Palate: a soft yet firm mouthfeel, smooth at the teeth and lacking all (any?) presence at the throat--mega-refreshing, as recalled... Taste: a bit of pepper sneaks in, but far and away a doughy, orange twist that easily sifts down the throat; not complex, but enough profile to compel... Overall: An old friend indeed--this was the first beer I found that fit the easy-drinking summer plan once out of college; surprised I had not reviewed it yet, I had to go back to it; for better (or worse), a case of this could vanish in a mere day or two; better than the sum of its parts....
3.5Kroger mixed pack bottle. Very nice, mellow and refreshing witbier. definitely something for a hot afternoon. Lighter on the spice which I like. The yeast seems spot on too. Very nice.
2.5Pours a cloudy hazy golden rusty orange. Nose is yeasty and spicy and a bit grainy. Taste is typically Belgian, strong up front yeast with coriander spices. Finish is spicy with a lingering yeasty taste. Just another uninteresting ’ plain vanilla ’ Belgian wit. Quaff Score 6 / 10
