3.0 Bottle. Murky brown with beige head. Figs, caramel and toffee aroma. Sweet malt flavour with metallic and alcoholic notes and a decent bitterness.
3.6 Bottle purchased @ La caisse de bières. Bière très agréable avec un bel équilibre.
3.7 330ml bottle BB 01 Dec 17. Deep hazy red with beautiful big beige frothy head, leaving nice lacing as it slowly recedes. Aromas of plums, currants, caramel, bread. The taste has lots of hearty fresh bread, caramel, plums, cherries, currants, herbal and spicy hop bitterness. Medium to full bodied, nice light prickly carbonation. Quite a good dubbel.
3.6 330mL bottle from International Beer Collector. BB 01/12/17 Deep bronze body, slightly murky, pours a sparse beige head. Aroma subdued but there’s promise here - nutty, biscuity malt, brown sugar, some spice & dark fruit esters, perhaps a touch of booze in the equation. Carbonation is soft, creamy, mouth-filling texture, reasonably thick, substantial without being particularly rich. Brown sugar/candi sugar sweetness up front on the body, bringing its own earthiness, amongst peppery, woody phenolics, blackcurrant & berry fruit esters. Subtle warmth on the finish. Good dubbel!
3.4 Roasted notes, chocolate, brown reddish with a good light brown head, medium body, medium carbonation, roasted...not my favorite dubbel but good.
Geur: geroosterde mout, iets aards. Smaak: moutzoet, karamel en licht bitter. Goede koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: droog bitterig. Best lekker.
3.5 F: big, lasting, pale brownish,. C: reddish to brown, opaque, hazy. A: little cocoa, little coffee, hint of vinous, caramel, dark fruit. T: syrupy sweet, caramel, brown sugar, little cacao, hint of dark cherries, plums, mocha, medium body, a little dry finish, good carbonated, ABV on the bottle 7,5%, good Dubbel anyway, 0,33l bottle from beer festival in February in Brugge.
Backlog from 2015/03/27.
3.5 Bottle, 7.5%. Milk chocolate aroma, slightly spicy, some brown sugar in the nose. Seemingly clear reddish dark brown colour. Very small frothy off-white head. The flavour has a nice mild chocolate note, not as much sugar as the aroma with being too dry. A mild and quite clean bitterness to balance. A pleasant and well-balanced dubbel.
3.7 Bottle. Pours hazy darkish ruby / copper brown with airy light tan head. Clear aroma of caramel malt with notes of fruit and touches of coffee. Bitter, roasty flavour with sweet notes of caramel malt and fruity touches. Bitterish and slightly acetic aftertaste with mild sweetish hints. A well-balanced and thoroughly enjoyable Dubbel. Nice.
3.6 L: -pours a hazy ruby-brown with a small to medium, foamy, beige head -no carbonation visible S: -chocolate,raisins,figs,leathery T: -Follows the nose plus plums, caramel, cherries and a slight acidity -finishes dry F: -low to medium carbonation -light body -slight alcohol warmth O: -Belgian Yeast character less pronounced The Beer was at the end of its BBD,so the low carbonation (for a Belgian Beer) maybe because of that. Good overall.
2.8 Bottle 330ml (from BBF, BB 01/2016) Deep ruby color, steady beige head, some lace. Ryeish malty, toasted, berryish and a bit medicinal aroma. Medium-bodied. Berryish flavor with candy sweetness. Hops are there too, some bitterness in the aftertaste. Berries dominate this bruin way too much.
3.3 5/10/2011 12:39:50 AM clove, Bottle from Beer Tempel. Golden yellow with big head. Nose of malts, wheat and sweetness. Also malty and caramel taste with fruit and lemon notes. Nice finish. Another good Viven beer.
3.9 Bottle at Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Thin and sticky mouthfeel. That classic Belgian gummy maltfeel, with some tacit dark, sticky tobacco length. Tangy. Good Dubb.
2.7 Aroma: Medium fruity, banana. pear, Medium bready. Light prunes. Light caramel. Appearance: Dark amber body. Medium, tan head. Good retention. Fine bubbles. Flavour: Medium prunes, Medium-light bitterness. Medium munich maltiness. Very light metallic. Medium-light sweetness. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-high carbonation. Creamy. Overall: Lacking in body and flavour. Not a bad beer. 330 bottle, poured. Thanks Andre! 18B. Belgian Dubbel
3.6 33cl bottle. APPEARANCE: GUSHER! clear brown beer, small unstable beige head. NOSE: caramel, fruity, rather sweet, some port, malts. TASTE: caramel, rather sweet in general, some port, malty. Decent brew!
3.3 Dark brown with medium bit creamy beige head. Sweetmalt, bit herbal aroma. Sweet malt taste (too much for my preferences) ollowe by mild bitterness with herbal notes and certain sourness. Mild bitter aftertaste.
3.4 Bottle at home. Dark Brown color. Medium to full body and medium carbonation. Coffee aroma a little bit bitter. Overall it’s nice
3.7 Keg. Appearance is murky brown, with a big beige head. Aroma- mocha, plum, other dark fruits. Taste is milk chocolate, slightly vinous, caramel. Good.
3.3 Bottle 33cl. Brown colour with a red glow. Medium light brown head that fades a bit. Aroma has mostly malts, with sweet hints. The taste is not regular. A bitterness for start with a metallic undertone. There’s some sweetness in the aftertaste. Special!
3.1 Aroma of malt, caramel, liquorice, sugary notes, dark fruity notes. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a light to moderate bitter finish. Not a bad Dubbel.
3.2 Butelka, warka do 28/10/15. Wyglad bardzo ladny - ciemno bordowo-czerwono-brunatne, nieprzejrzyste, z ladna piana ekri (sp?) - niestety szybko opadajaca do obraczki choc ladnie brzudzaca szklo.
3.5 Bottle from webb SB cons 2015-01-18 Duved AR: dry chocolate, brown sugar AP: mahoghny, beige head F: almonds paste, brown sugar, smooth body, wee yeasty, bubbly carbonation, low bitterness,
3.4 huge frothy offwhite head. excellent lacing. mostly diminishing. flat thick caramel-brown body. aroma: moderate malt, milk chocolate, toffee and alcohol. if: moderate sweet. ff: moderate sweet very light bitter; average duration. palate: medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. 60 s
