Viven Imperial IPA

Viven Imperial IPA

Brewed with Tomahawk and Simcoe hops. Viven Imperial IPA came from the westcoast of America but is brewed in Flemish style and gives a great result. It will make the beer lovers heart beat a bit faster. An adventure for your senses. Amber coloured with a thin off-white head, Viven Imperial IPA is a good hoppy beer with citrus accents. Fruity nose (peach and pink grapefruit) with floral flavours, recalls a forest (spruce) in the early morning. The hops are prominent. Viven Imperial IPA is pleasently bitter.

4.0 très bonne IPA.
4.4 330ml bottle at Kunstroeg, Bruges on 29/07/2010. Oh yes! A fantastic IIPA. Loads of piney and pithy grapefruit notes on the nose, but with tropical fruit and notable esters. A wonderful blend of big West Coast IPA and classic Belgian strong beer.
3.2 Bottle had in Kansas. Poured a amber color with a small white head. Aromas of bitter hops. Tastes of bitter citrus hops, dankness and some thing weird. Must be the flemish stuff.
3.4 Shared bottle at Delirium Cafe, Brussels. Pours hazed orange amber with a beige top. Malty, citrus, candied fruits, caramel. Medium body, soft carb, hoppy bitter finish
3.9 Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a murky deep orange colour with a medium to large sized thick throthy beige head. Aromas of tropical, stone and citrus fruits, floral, pine and spice. Taste is more fruity notes with added orange zest and a hoppy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with a smooth slick slightly oily mouthfeel and a long citrus and hoppy finish. Really fresh. Excellent beer
3.6 Pours a bit hazy amber-orange. Aroma of malts and caramel. A medium to heavy bodied beer with flavors of caramel, candy, fruits, and light hops. A bit sweet candied and fruity aftertaste.
2.4 Troebel donker oranje bier met ruime witte schuimkraag.
3.5 Pours a clear orange amber colour with a huge frothy mostly lasting off white head. A rich fruity hoppy aroma; overripe fruit, citrus and pine needles. A moderate to heavy sweet taste, overripe fruit, orange citrus flavours and a long citrus peel bitter finish.
Fyldig, middels bitter. Barnål, stenfrukt og lett brent karamell. Middels lang.
3.7 Robe ambrée, mousse beige persistante. Double IPA plutôt ronde, caramel, agrumes confits, amertume bien marquée.
3.8 I didn't believe that Viven could make such an IPA style. Well, it has the body of an imperial, malty beer with very balanced bitterness. Notes of caramel and a very flowerish aftertaste.
4.1 Rigtig god IPA, let mørk, grumset, god bitterhed
2.9 Many thanks to kappldav123 for sharing. Smooth dry grainy beginning. Lots of grain, hints of sweetness with floral hops. Moderate bitter, not too deep with a sweetish-floral-bitter ending.
3.8 Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours golden color with above medium head. Flavor of citrus, grapefruit, resin, pineapple, caramel, malts. Medium body, pleasant medium bitterness. Smooth hoppy taste. Well balanced IPA.
3.9 330 ml bottle bought at Artisan Butcher in Sai Ying Pun. Looks: Cloudy hazy amber honey with a thin ring of dirt-like yeast sediments; Three finger head with crumpety off-white foam which lasts for 3 minutes; Beautiful sticky lacing with zero carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant Ale malt, with strong pineapples, white grapes, peaches, grapefruits, alcohol, floral, sugar, spices, bread crumbs, Bel yeast, lemon and light grass. Taste: Medium sweet full Ale malt, with strong Amberness, strong melanoidoin, bitter grapefruits, floral, fair sugar, spices, strong pine, herbs, resins, dry biscuits, yeast, lemon, strong bitter hops and grass. Body: Mid to full body. Very slick palate. Mouth Feel: Full Ale maltyness in a very solid background. Very amberish with focus on immensely bitter grapefruit hops. Flowery with fair sweetness. Spicy herbal, very piney and resiny. Dry biscuity with lemon to round. Very nice! Hoppiness: Pineapples, white grapes, peaches, grapefruits, floral, spices, lemon and light grass in nose. Bitter grapefruits, floral, spices, strong pine, herbs, resins, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness is very strong for a lasting, very high level bitter-sweet full Ale malty finish. After Taste: Dry; Piney grapefruits and strong bitter to mouth. Comments: This one's estery fruity hoppy aroma seems to suggest Belgian-style IPA, but taste-wise its full force of pine, lemon and bitter grapefruits means American IPA to the core. Hopheads will find this one highly satisfying and so do I. Recommended!
3.8 Hazy honey. Large head, high retention. Aroma intensity 2.75/5. In the nose, butter, herbs, acacia and olives. Heavy bitter on very subtle sweet. Medium body. Chewy texture
3.4 Huge thanks to JefVerstraete for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Fine fruity-hoppy aroma. Starts fine hoppy, fruity notes of dried fruits, modest bitter background. Hints of ripe apples, some apricot. Nice!
Ben bilanciata e complessa, l'alcol è ben nascosto. Ottima birra.
3.5 Bottle 33cl Amber, hazy with a creamy offwhite head. Nice hoppy aroma, floral sense. Bitter flavour, nice hop end.
4.0 Birra ipa ambrata dall'aroma tropical e dal gusto luppoloso dolce e allo stesso tempo agrumato e amarognolo. Molto equilibrata e rinfrescante. Promossa!
4.0 Poors dark red ocre with mocha head, slightly hazy and oily, good lacing, great looking. Aroma loads of fruity hops, mango, pine needles, noticable and promising malts, maybe a little soapy but very inviting. Taste with the same hops, the malts, sadly for me, maybe a bit less present, soft, finishing bitterness, light grainy MF, soft carbonation. Very good, well made, no off flavours, disturbing carbonation or alcohol. Only weak point for me is that I would have liked this with some more pronounced malts but let's not complain.
3.2 Beige foamy full lasting head. Dark amber colour. Aroma is hoppy, fruity with tangerine and light grapefruit notes. Flavor is hoppy too with tangerine, light caramel tones, ending in a metallic finish. Medium bodied.
3.2 Found from bottle from Benchmark Provisions in Boone, NC. Medium to dark brown appearance. No overwhelming hop aroma or taste but is well balanced and enjoyable. Certainly heavy so best during colder seasons.
