3.4 Draft @ Dok, Ghent. Dark brown colour, beige foam. Nose of bread, nuts, caramel, American hops. Taste is bready, caramel, notes of nuts, some fruitiness.
3.6 15 March 2019. At Dok Brewing Company, Ghent. Shared with the lovely Anke! Pours clear brown/amberish with a lasting, thin, frothy, tan head. Aroma of butterscotch, walnut, chestnut, salted peanut, mocha, toast, apple cake, faint cinnamon. Taste is medium malty sweet, very nutty, walnut & peanut with a caramelly edge, faintly fruity (apple, sourish brambleberry perhaps); light roasted bitterness carries toast, hot chestnut, tea & mocha, all supported by a dough-like malty base. Dryish, herbal & earthy hoppy finish, lingering nuts, caramel, mocha. Medium body, slick-oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Not the 'big' Ale it wants to be but it's nutty and hoppy alright.
3.5 Pours clear, bubbly chestnut with a thick and frothy parchment head. Aroma presents toasted malt, roast coffee and caramel tones. Flavor echoes these and ups the sweet factor while tossing in more than a hint of chocolate. Texture offers decent body and perky fizz. Go big and brown, or go drink industrial swill.
3.6 this clear light brown beer is o tap at wexford pub. no lacing or head. caramel and chalk but very drinkable. very light hint of licorice
4.0 Pours a clear dark reddish copper color with a large beige head and great retention. Good lacing. Big roasted nut aroma. Flavor matches the aroma. Roasted nutty flavor with just a little molasses and a slight boozy finish. Smooth body. Both the 7.5% ABV and 31 IBUs are mostly hidden.
3.7 Botella @BierKraft, Sevilla 04/01/18 Color marrón oscuro corona de espuma blanca, aromas frutos secos, sabor maltosa, caramelo, notas chocolate, cuerpo medio.
3.5 Tap @ Mikkeller Tokyo. Pours dark brown, not that carbonated, no bubbles and looking a bit flat. Nose is deep and nutty, some light bitterness there, otherwise malty, caramel and just a hint of booze. Tastes solid, caramel, toffee, nutty - with a decent bitter and lightly herbal backbone. Not too heavy, so can also drink quicker if you want to, otherwise a decent brown ale. Hoppy one.

3.2 Bottle. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is earthy and a little leafy with citrus, singed toffee and bread. 7- Tastes much as it smells, perhaps not as sweet as expected. Pleasant enough but doesn't offer much for its strength.

3.6 Copenhagen 7/4 2018. 35,5 cl bottle from Mikkeller Webshop. Drawing of a Lady with dog with pretty big teeth on the label. Pours slightly hazy dark brown with red hue. Small white head. Settles as thin almost transparent layer of foam. Not much lacing to speak of. Aroma is strong, roasted and on the sweet side. Roasted malts, lactose, chocolate, brown sugar, caramel and mild coffee notes. Medium carbonation and slightly thick texture. Flavor is quite sweet followed by medium bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet, roasted and pleasantly lingering. Nice brown ale - almost aspiring to be a Sweet Stout. Easy to drink and pretty light.
3.5 American style strong brown ale by Voodoo, bottle from De Caigny. Very agressive gusher, with beer violently spouting out of the bottle neck before the crown cap was even half removed... Lightly lacing, medium thick, pale greyish beige head, largely closed but dissipating quickly, over an initially clear, dark chocolate brown beer with purplish hue. Aroma strongly dominated by gravy, cooked tofu and concentrated beef stock at first, not very pleasant and no doubt related, but when fading, leaving more room for impressions of orange zest, cocoa powder, butterscotch, fresh fig, medlar, melting brown sugar, toasted pecan nuts, raw cinnamon, shoe polish, cloves, garden herbs, blackberry jam, tree bark, toasted chicory, iron. Subdued fruity onset, hinting at dried plum, fig and apple peel, sweetish with a sourish undertone and the expected umami accent (beef stock cube); carbonation is fizzy but not too harsh, mouthfeel is smooth, full and notably resinous, a bit glueish even. Nutty malt body, pecan nuts and nut bread, sweetish toffeeish edges as is to be expected from the style but toasty bitterish too, as well as a thin metallic aspect somewhere; some phenols dance on top, doubtlessly related to the gushing, with refermentation in the bottle gone out of control a bit. Ends with a kind of dusty powderiness, lingering malt bittersweetness and dried fruit impressions softly bittered by a zesty, spicy hop accent and followed by a soft background glow of booze, but subtly so. Toasty bitterishness remains. Not bad in terms of pure flavour, not bad at all, but considering the quality of their stouts, I expected more - and that is ignoring the fierce gushing, never a pleasant thing when opening a beer from the cellar. Typical hop-forwarded American brown ale with bottle conditioning gone a bit awkward.
4.0 Murky reddish brown beer, filmy head. Malty toffee aroma. Taste is toffee, malt, fruit and nuts with a very faint dash of lighter, possibly citrus fruit. Perfectly balanced this is altogether too drinkable for the strength.
3.5 Keg at Brewdog (North Street), Leeds, Yorkshire. A dark brown coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, caramel, chocolate aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, caramel, chocolate. Pleasant brown ale if a little on the thin side.
