"The Golden Beer"; previously: "Exquisitely Lovely Golden Ale"

Originally brewed by Thwaites, the brand was contract brewed at Marston’s Wolverhampton plant (Banks’s) from 2013, then bought completely by Marston in March 2015. The brand continued to be sold under the Thwaites name and logo initially, then became simply "Wainwright" by 2018.

Brewed to celebrate the Lake District author, Alfred Wainwright. A full and golden coloured ale with delicate fruit flavours and subtle sweetness.

3.3 lemony biscuits with a herbal hoppy, medium bitter finish. Simple and tasty, very sessionable.
2.9 .5 bottle. Clear gold, low, rather ugly but stable, white head, little lacing. Aroma malty, slightly biscuits, flowers. Taste full, rather dry. Carbonation high, tingling. Bitterness medium to high, herbal. Aftertaste biscuits, herbal.
Pijalne. Przyjemne,
2.7 Bottle. Clear bright golden yellow color, medium white head. Light citrus aroma. Taste is light lemon with subtle bitterness. Ordinary.
2.9 Zlatnožute prema amber boji, tanka bijela pjena, malo trajnija. Arome trave, blago karamela, vlage i krede, malo i borovine. Blage gorčine, malo dužeg gorkog finiša. Vodene teksture, slabe prema umjerenoj karbonizaciji.
3.0 Standard drink. Decent hoppy aroma with a slight citrusy note. Fruity taste with a subtle sweetness to finish. Enjoyable session ale
3.1 Clear golden, white head. Light hoppy aroma. Flavour has a little fruit, some grassy hop, a touch of sweet malt. Not much else, and a slightly watery finish. It's not a bad generic golden ale, but it is a generic golden ale.
3.2 Hoppy, fruity smell, mid hoppy taste and golden amber colour.
3.2 0.5l bottle. Clear golden colour with long lasting white head. Aroma: A little bit floral, honey and soapy. Taste: Fresh and crispy malty start with honey tones and a fresh hoppy/bitter mouthfeel. Light body with medium carbonation. Long lasting bitter finish.
Przyjemne w piciu.
3.4 Pours golden clear, thick unt white head. Aroma is mild fruity, orange. Taste os moderate bitter, lemon on tongue. Medium body, thick to creamy texture, light bitter finish. Very drinkable.
2.7 Wygląd: Barwa złocista, klarowna, krystaliczna. Piana biała, średniowysoka, średnio i drobnopęcherzykowa, po krótkiej chwili opada do pierścienia, pozostawia lekki lacing. Aromat: Na średnioniskim poziomie ziołowy, korzenny, kwiatowy chmiel. Na drugim planie niska chlebowo – biszkoptowa słodowość. Smak: Mniej intensywny, bardziej płaski (pomimo niezbyt wyrazistego aromatu). Na niskim poziomie ziołowy chmiel z korzenno – kwiatowymi nutami. W tle nuta zbożowo – chlebowej słodowości oraz akcent estrów w postaci skórki jabłka. W ustach wytrwane, treściwość niska, lekko wodnista, wysycenie średnioniskie. Goryczka znikoma, ziołowa. Finisz wytrawny z mineralno – ziołowym niuansem.
2.8 Pint in The George, St. Helen's (£3): Golden & translucent with a nice, straight white head that's creamy & holds well just under 1cm tall. It's very light smelling, some biscuit, English hops & light, pale malts; inoffensive but there's not a lot to it. The taste is only marginally stronger, some biscuit again with pale, earthy malts & a subtle floral finish but it's very one-dimensional. It's light-medium bodied with a clean, smooth feel & moderate carbonation then a light bitterness at the end; basic.
3.5 Bottle from a mixed Marston’s case. Gold in colour, with a little haze. Slight fruity aromas with a dry, balanced taste.
2.3 had a slight sour taste to me, not what I expect from a golden ale. Maybe it was a bit past it but had a drink by date in 3 months time and its been stored cold.
3.2 Golden, tad opaque, malty sweet and citrusy nose, mildly lemony onset, balanced. dryish afters. Fruity. Nice, straightforward, smooth drinking ale. Mouthfeel decent, medium carbs. Nice session beer.
1.8 # 2788; 3/2022. Malty, cardboard, earthy aroma. Brilliant gold body; white head with low persistance. Malty, mouldy, earthy. Bad beer - something between golden ale and international pale lager and with faults. 0,5 l, bottle, supermarket, Lincoln (Lincolnshire, England).
2.9 Pale gold / yellow beer, with a fluffy white head. Malty biscuit aroma. Malty bread taste, with a slightly hopped aftertaste. Quite refreshing, but forgettable.
3.6 500ml can from B&M Bargains in Preston. £4.49 for 4 cans. Colour is a light pale straw coloured golden ale aroma is citrusy, lemony, malty with mild hop smell. Taste is lemony, biscuity, malty, bready. Bitterness is modest and is just about right. Quite a sweet aftertaste. Very soft mouthfeel. Overall, very light, very sweet and malty and very easily drinkable beer. Could certainly drink a few of these on a Friday evening.
3.0 Poured from 500ml bottle, 4.1% abv golden ale. It's a clear, yellow beer with rocky white head, light bitter hop aroma, pale bread malt, citrus fruit. Slight caramel notes, mostly light and easy drinking. Enjoyable.
2.7 Bottle 500 ml from Jiffy. Pours clear golden body and white head. Malt, citrus, dry palate. Good overall.
3.2 Bottle 500ml; Look: golden coloured with a white foam. Good carbonation. Some lacing. Aroma: bread, biscuit, hay Body: thin Taste: malty, some bitterness on aftertaste Overall: nice enough
3.5 A superbly refreshing golden ale. Very easy to drink. Light caramel malt, very little head, almost lagery. Quite a sweet finish.
2.0 Bit too bitter for me.
3.6 0.5 l bottle from K-Citymarket, Helsinki. Golden, clear, small head. Soft malty taste with sharp ending, but not really hoppy. Quite refreshing.
