Wasatch Apricot Hefeweizen

Wasatch Apricot Hefeweizen

This smooth and unfiltered fruited hefeweizen has a beautiful apricot nose and a refreshing, slightly tart finish. The bounty of the orchard is now portable.

2.9 From Dec 2006 Poured from 12oz bottle(room temp) a nice cloudy light gold with a huge head of foam that sharnk slowly leaving a solid layer with some lacing hugging the side of my glass. The smell is big on the apricot, which I like, and has some sweet malt in there as well as a touch of sourness. The taste is very apricot but it's not over done. It has a nice bit of sweetness with the tanginess that you expect from this fruit and makes for a pretty darned good fruit beer. I like this one. And at 4%abv(on the label) it went down very easy. I could drink quite a few of these at one session! Bottom line: A low alcohol brew that literally yells out...I'm a sesssion brew! I recommend it. Thanks to Wasatch for giving me a chance to taste this tasty beer!
3.3 Draft @ El Bait Shop - Pours pale yellow, hazy, white head. The apricot compliments the banana notes, no clove to speak of. A bit thin and finishes dry.
3.6 Bottle shared at DCLawyer’s. Hazy yellow with off-white head. Aromas of apricot, stone fruit. Tastes of apricot, stone fruit, subtle wheat. Light body with a dry finish.
3.0 Pour is a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is a big time apricot. A bit artificial but it really stands out. Flavor is a very minor apricot with some wheat malt and finishes quite watery. Not really a hefe, more like a plane old wheat ale with some apricot flavoring added. Nothing remarkable but it’s hit the spot for an after work beer.
3.2 12 ounce can. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a decent white head. Aroma of fruit and grain. Taste is apricots and wheat. Somewhat sweet, but still very drinkable. Refreshing.
3.0 Tap; pours cloudy straw yellow with a white head; sweet aroma of apricots and wheat; taste is light sweet with apricots and some wheat in the background; dry, apricot finish
3.9 For what this beer is I really enjoyed it. Its what I would consider a session beer and its not suppose to be a true hefeweizen. If you don’t like apricots obviously you aren’t going to like this. I thought it was really well balanced for a fruit beer. The head retention was pretty poor. That may have something to do with the fruit addition...not sure.
3.2 Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. Poured from a 12 oz can apricot color. No head to speak of. Medium body. Flavor is mostly apricot with a hint of banana. Finishes like apricot juice. OK, just.
3.2 12 oz. can from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Almost clear with just a little haze. A soapy off white head doesn’t last long. Plenty of apricot in the aroma but some earth notes, too. Flavor is pretty much all apricot and very light on the hefeweizen. Drinks like a cider that maybe had some hefe added.
2.8 Pours a cloudy golden straw color. Good head, good lacing. Aroma is very much apricot. Wheat. Bread crust. Butter. Not much more. Taste is apricot. Lightly like buttered popcorn. Meh. Mouthfeel is light. Easy drinking. Sessionablity high. Overall, it’s not bad. Just somewhat bland. I wouldn’t recommend, and I wouldn’t buy again. It’s bland, it’s boring, but drinkable.
3.1 Much better than expected. Peach of course. Cider and fruity flavor. Draft pour at their brewpub in park city
3.3 Bottle at BrewMaster’s Craft Beer Festival. Pours a hazy yellow with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is wheat, apricot, yeast. Medium body, wheat, apricot, peach, yeast, light finish, good.
3.6 i really liked this one...first apricot infused beer...pretty solid...flavor is really fresh...yummy!
3.3 Hazy straw pour with a white head that fades quickly to nothing. Aroma is apricot candy and grains. Taste is sweet apricot and wheat. Light body. Refreshing.
3.7 On draft at Ginger Man. Poured hazy orange with thin white head. Sweet apricot and citrus notes.
2.0 Almost creamy, buttery, with light malt and a good dash of fruit. Slight bitterness. Not very palatable.
3.8 I know everyone will think I'm overrating this, but it's great to find a really unique beer in such a crowded market. Clear apricot aroma, sweet yet refreshing taste and just enough body to avoid feeling watered down. Light, refreshing and tasty; I'd drink this any time.
2.4 Well...it has a good apricot aroma. Pours a light, murky straw-like color with a white head that disappears pretty quickly. Taste is a carbonated fruit juice with maybe a bit of wheat? It just even feels weird in the mouth. Feels thicker than it is, maybe a bit oily too. Just not a fan. I have five more cans of this, and I think I will wait until weather is in the high 90s before trying again. On a cool night, this just did nothing for me.
3.0 12 oz. bottle. Jack of Spades. Pours slight hazy, golden, small white head. Aroma was apricot. Taste was sweet, apricots, wheat, citrus.
3.2 Bottle - Pours a pale gold, white head. Great smell - apricot, sparkling grape juice, floral. Smooth fruity flavor, yeast presence, with a mild hint of hops.
3.0 On tap at Squatters, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh apricots upfront, followed by light whispy wheat. Flavour is fairly fresh, with juicy apricots upfront and wheat notes. Uninteresting but decently made for what it is.
2.3 I don’t like apricots. But I love beer. So one would presume I was at a loggerheads when imbibing this tripe. Rest assured, I was not. No, indeed, I was suffering on family vacation on the outskirts of Zion National Park, and this was just the ticket to sooth my jangling nerves after another day with the wife and kids. I would say this was the preffered beverage of those hikers who fell to their deaths off Angel’s landing, but that would be a heinous lie. No, indeed, the prefered drink of those who put mayhem in front of their personal safety is Blatz. So, when trying to impress the ladies with your care-free attitude, slam down a 40 of Blatz and let the good times roll........
2.8 On tap at Snowbird. Hazy yellow body with slight head. Nose is floral and malty.Taste is also fruits and apricot included. Light beer.
2.6 Bottle. Pale gold color, fizzy. Mostly just apricot, sweet, artificial flavoring, peach candy, and watery. Not much beer.
2.8 Pint at a restaurant in Kanab/Utah. Murky pale yellow in the glass, small head. Apricot on the nose, little bit wheat. Taste starts with apricot, also some wheat and yeast with low banana and chewing gum in the second row. Increasing wheat in the middle part, fruity and high carbonated. An ambivalent one. But okay.
1.9 12 oz. bottle from Zach. Clear, pale, gold color, with no head and an oily film. The nose is apricots, oyster crackers, and not a lot else. Sweet and thin. Light body, oily, acidic, and watery. This is a weak, poor beer. Absolutely no hint of hefeweizen, just watery fruit juice.
2.7 Sampled from a can. A hazy pale yellow with a thin head. There is little aroma and not much malt taste, but very pronounced apricot flavours. Very little bitterness, but a pleasant, light beer with a fruity taste, perfect for a summer refresher!
2.7 Easy drinking Hefe with a light Apricot flavoring added. This is a perfect summer type beer.
1.9 12oz can in Alexandria,MN. Really not worth rating. Weak nose. Artificial apricot is all I could pick out. Watered down sugary flavor. Thin flat body. Didn't finish this.
3.6 I like apricots so yea I like this hefeweizen. It was a good fruity refreshing beer easy to drink good flavor.
