Waterloo Triple Blond

A triple blond that is both simple and complex. Simple thanks to the method that releases a sweet zest at the tip of the tongue that is joined by a bitterness that rapidly makes its presence known in the mouth. Complex because the raw materials release their full individual flavours, each equally robust with the bitterness of hops and supple malt flavours. A brewing method that has all the hallmarks of a victory worthy of the name Waterloo.

3.7 Bottle from Lidl DE, deep gold with a lacing foam, spicy hops and a touch of apple pie on the nose, boozy and drying, malty-sweet and spicy-bitter, warming and herbal.

3.2 Aromat belgijskich drożdży i suszonych owoców. W smaku trochę przyprawowo, mocno słodowo. Niestety coś nieprzyjemnego pojawia się w posmaku i trochę psuje experience.

3.2 Amber colour, clear, large frothy head that stays long. Aroma is coriander, flowery. Some warming alcohol. Light bitterness, not sweet. Lively carbonation. Good.

3.3 Ma ovo se i po flaši vidi da je ludilo piva. Ima 8% tako da je ova količina pive čist zadovoljavajuća. Ne sjećam se točno, jer sam ju pio prije više od godinu dana, ali čini mi se da sam ju kupio u Lidlu. Vrijedi probati!

3.5 Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Modetrate malty and hoppy and yeasty aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

3.5 Lys, med fint rigeligt skum. Duft af jord og humle. Meget behagelig let bitter, en del kuldioxid, smag af humle.

2.5 Si je retrouve bien cet alcool (titrant à 8 %) typiquement belge dans cette Waterloo, pour le reste...ce n'est vraiment pas terrible, tant pas les arômes, simple set pas extraordinaires (autour de vin blanc, miel et céréales) que par son équilibre. Le visuel est tout de même sympathique sur un blond doré limpide recouvert d'une mousse blanche de 3 mm. Le nez est sur un duo alcool/vin blanc particulier et pas enivrant. L'attaque présent une légère acidité pas adaptée à la situation, toujours avec cet alcool, bien présent et avec des arômes de vin blanc, miel et céréales. Ceux-ci ne bougeront pas d'ailleurs. La deuxième bouche est purement linéaire alors que l’arrière-bouche, plus sur l'alcool est quelque peu bourrine. Le final, d'une bonne longueur toutefois nous laisse sur notre vinasse. Un Waterloo sans vainqueur…tous vaincus.

3.6 Schönes süffiges Triple, typisch rosinigen Antrunk, bisschen Cognac, hinten feinbitter, sehr gut trinkbar. Lecker Ding.

3.1 Bottiglia. Il naso riconosce indizi di speziato. La finezza olfattiva è normale e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore ha una buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è media, con carbonazione abbondante. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. La frizzantezza si presenta sotto forma di bollicine medio-fini. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è rotondo. L'amaro è nella media. La forza gustativa è normale e permane in maniera sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è di media intensità. Al palato prevalgono impressioni di miele, crosta di pane, frutta secca, un accenno di resinoso, agrumi e frutta disidratata.

3.0 Bottle. 8.0%. Best before 08.01.23. Pours a slightly hazy, light golden, with a lasting, off-white head. Good lacing. Tart aroma with grass, citrus, fruit, plums bordering acetone, and light yeast. Hint of rubber/plastic, increasing a bit as it warms. Caught a single whiff of anise in the beginning, but it didn’t show up again. Flavour is fruity, with yeast and a metallic note. Light grass, hint of citrus. Remote hint of rubber. Light plums/remotely acetone note as it warms. Somewhat dry, mild to medium bitter finish. Hint of yeast. Lingering grassy note and a (mild) alcohol burn. A wee bit too much carbonation. Overall okay as such, but feels somewhat unbalanced. 28.04.21.

3.6 33cl bottle from Lidl, Rimini, Italy. Pours light amber, transparent, with a good head of medium grained white foam. Aroma is intensely yeasty plus fruity and honey. Body is average with quite a carbonation. Taste is medium-high sweet, with a bit of final bitterness.

3.0 Botella. Gilden colour, medium white bubbly head. Sweet fruitish malty lightly spiced aroma. Ok palate. Sweet flavour with malt and some spice, some fruitiness from the hops, alco notes, bit thin. Fair.

3.2 Birra Tripel che non ha nulla delle classiche tripel belghe. Colore dorato, schiuma non troppo persistente. In bocca entra con un sapore dolciastro e finisce con un amaro abbastanza lungo ma mai fastidioso. Passabile, ma non chiamatela Triple/Tripel.

3.1 Huge thanks to WillemsUrenkel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Soapy malty aroma. Starts intense malty, wheaty, light alcoholic. Some soapy dry notes. Mild fruity hints of lemon. Finish well balanced, still a bit alcoholic-metallical. Okay.
