Weihenstephaner Festbier

Weihenstephaner Festbier

A full rich bodied, hoppy, seasonal lager. Especially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer truly represents the Bavarian way of celebrating. Deep gold color, great mouthfeel and lots of flavor. Prost!

3.1 Clear golden pour with a thick frothy white head and lots of lacing ….. aroma of grass, lemon, grains, sweet malts, caramel malts, straw and light fruity notes …. Taste is of grass, bitter lemon, sweet grains, caramel malts, straw and fruity yeast …. Almost kolsch like or a Pilsner …. Still a good German brew with a soft mouthfeel ….. finish has dry hops, grass, lemon and sweet grains.
3.3 (tap 0,5l @ Oktoberfest na Zelňáku - Brno) Overall: Nice clean festbier. Aroma: Sweet, malty, clean. Appearance: Clear golden. Long lasting white head. Taste: Medium sweet, malty. Palate: Medium body. Light dry finish.
3.2 Bottle. Glear golden. Nose is pale malts, hay, straw, honey. Tastes fairly sweet, honey, sweet malts, biscuit, light warming.
2.8 Pours a golden hue, but the head vanished with zero lacing. Nose is a light sweetness that is encouraging. There’s a lightness to this brew; where as, some fests are heavy with a strong caramel malt flavor. This is bright and refreshing with a slight hop finish. Cheers!
3.7 Bottle from Hops and Crafts Exeter. Pours clear despise gold with a white head. Aroma of lemon , bread , biscuit, pepper & some hay . Taste of more lemon, doughy bread, biscuit , some hay and pepper. On the light side of medium bodied with good carbonation. The finish is dry and bittersweet with more more lemon, hay, bread , biscuit and pepper. Solid!
3.7 50 cl bottle poured in to a Dimpled mug. Enjoyed with pork roast which in my opinion as the best food pairing with this type of beer. Clear golden colour with a frothy white head. Sweet aroma with freshly baked bread, straw, floral and earthy hoppy notes. Taste is light sweet. Medium bodied. Drying, fruity-grassy finish. Excellent balance and drinkability.
3.3 Pours slightly darker than golden, transparent. About two fingers of loose white head, which recedes quite quickly but leaves nice lacing. Aroma: malty base of cereal/hay and the slightest hint of caramel, honey, delicate flowery hops and a hint of grassiness, a light soapy feel; nice though not very strong. Taste notes follow the aroma closely, but with a bit more sweetness than the smell suggested (rather strong honey notes, caramel more distinct). Overall still in good balance, with a slight sweet edge in the mouth and a balanced, semi-dry finish. Medium to light body with average carbonation, easily drinkable. Nice, though i wasn't impressed by anything specific.
3.3 31Aug2020 Sweet grain and cereal malts, caramel, bread, molasses. Clear gold, medium, creamy, white head. Light sweet. More bread and grain malts, light caramel, molasses, brioche, medium carbonation, medium bodied. Nice, a tad one-dimensional. Bottle from The House of the Trembling Madness.
3.4 Fles 50cl thuis. Maltig, hoppig, zacht, zoet, bittertonen, grassig, wat honing, caramel. (14-1-2022).
3.1 Aroma: bready malt, grass Appearance: clear golden color with a two-fingered beige head. Taste: bready malt, grass, medium sweetness, medium-low bitterness. Palate: medium-full body, medium carbonation, mild dryness Overall: It is sweeter and fuller than my expectation. The color is somewhat lighter for a festbier. Not very satisfied with this one.
3.5 Bottle up at Indian Lake. Subtle caramel notes. Subtle crisp hops. Medium light body. Average carbonation. Enjoyed this beer.
3.3 (Bottle) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with bread, honey, dough, citrus and grass. Malty taste with notes of bread, dough, honey, citrus peel, grass and a mild herbal, grassy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well made and tasty, but fairly generic. Quite nice.
3.5 Bottle. Toasted malt aroma with notes of biscuit, caramel and some toffee. Pours clear, pale copper colored with a half a finger of white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with biscuit and caramel malt flavors. Finishes smooth and a bit dry with toasted malt and some toffee flavors. Crisp, refreshing Oktoberfest.
3.5 Necking beer. But it's not quite that, I personally wold like a bit more personality or nuance or finesse about a beer, this just seems to be about safe and middle and everyman. It isn't bad, it just is what it is.
3.7 Pours a clear golden color with white head. Sweet biscuity aroma. Clean with a nice bite. Quite good. Notes: bottle from Total Wine, Oct ‘21
3.0 On tap at German Club. Pours clear gold w/thin white head that laced fairly well, soft malty & earthy aroma. Lightly sweet, nice mouthfeel, fit for purpose.
3.4 Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours crystal clear light gold with a frothy, white head. Light-medium sweet flavour with pleasant biscuity malts, a hint of caramel, hay, very mild bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, more biscuits, dough, caramel accents, hay. Drinkable stuff overall.
1.7 Aroma and taste of maltiness and yeast. Okay bitter that fills the whole mouth for a long time. Not so good beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
3.3 Clear golden color with medium lacing white head. Aroma has clear golden color. Taste is malty sweet with long quite sweet aftertaste. Flavors of caramel, malt and grass.
3.2 Pours clear, light golden colour, medium white head. Bready, malty aroma with notes of grass, hops, yeast, cardboard. Medium body. Dry, crisp mouthfeel. Bitter and quite long aftertaste.
3.5 The yeast really shines. Dry but still nice, clean, flavorful malt in the background. Hops are not noteworthy but preform their job by style perfectly. Nice and light but still big flavors
3.0 500ml bottle from Westhill. It pours crystal clear yellow - gold with a dissipating white head. The aroma is sweet, doughy malt, sponge cake, leafy, general fruitiness, herbal accents and spice. The taste is dry, fairly crisp, bitter - sweet, grassy, herbal, leafy, peppery spice, grainy, sponge cake, sweet doughy bread, metallic twang and some alcohol. Finish drying, yet sweet and bready. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Lacks a bit of wow factor, sits quite flat on the palate. Fair, but not up their usual snash.
2.8 Golden with a medium sized head. Sweet and tangy with bread, honey and a bit of perfume. Medium length finish. Medium bodied and smooth.
3.5 Bottle. Clear golden, medium large white head, semi lasting. Gentler grassy nose, some mild herbs and flowers. Moderate bitterness, grassy and herbal, slight sweetness. Light body. Lasting aftertaste.
3.2 Bottle 50 cl. Golden color, clear and white-foam. Aroma: light malt, crackers, a little alcohols. Taste: sweet-malt, a little candy, crackers, a little alcohol, medium bitter finish.
3.2 KYGG 071220. Pale golden color with a white head. Aroma is fruit, malt, hay. Flavor is dry, fruit, malt, hay, hop, grass, grain, spices. Easy drinkable beer.
3.8 500ml bottle brewed in Germany at 5.8%. Clear light gold with a good-sized and duration head. Flowery, a little bread and honey, and faint sultana in the aroma. Moderate carbonation, good body. Sweet, rich, thick-sliced bread well covered with honey, a little pear and orange zest tang balancing in the finish, and some light sultana notes in the aftertaste. Very solid. Bottle being 4 months past Best Before doesn't seem to have hurt it.
3.4 Bottle at home, from HOTM online whilst watching Wales vs England, 28/11/20. Clear golden blonde with a well presented white cap that retains well. Nose is pale malts, grains, bread dough, straw, fruit esters. Taste comprises stewed fruits, pale malts, toasted grains, crisp cereals, hint of lemon rind, bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent fruity lager.
3.4 Bottle - pours clear honey/amber colour with medium froth. Faint aroma of grass-grain, hint of citrus. Fine carbonation, with some body. Burst of sweetness, then a lasting tang of pils-type bitterness with slight spicy/sour tone. I like the different layers of taste, goes down very easily. Good
3.4 Robe blonde dorée, limpide. Mousse blanche, tenue un peu faible. Arômes miel herbal foin floral terreux. Léger faux-goût carton. Texture fluide, un peu aqueuse. Carbonatation fine moyennement abondante. Bien fait, très facile à boire.
