Weihenstephaner Pils

Weihenstephaner Pils

Golden-yellow and bright, with 32 bitter units and quite hoppy compared to most of the other Pilsners our Weihenstephaner Pilsner comes up with a distinctive aroma of hops with a pleasant bitterness. This combination provides a balanced mix and guarantees great enjoyment. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

2.5 Nalewa się złote, przejrzyste, całkime obfita piana. Pachnie miodowo, lekko zioło, no takie fest utlienione z dodatkiem chmielu. W smaku miód nawet grycznany, no i to dominuje.
3.4 Thin lace.Malty and dry. slight bitterness in the end.smooth. Bbf:27/10/2021
3.6 500ml bottle delivered from Beers of Europe and drunk at home. Gold, clear with a white head. Light grassy hop, lemon peel in the aroma. Tastes sweet at first but there's an intense citrus bitterness nearer the finish. Feels pretty boozy for the ABV. Light to medium carbonation. Lovely.
3.0 This is a backlog rating from 2014 from a bottle picked up locally, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are doughy malts, grassy, light sweet, mild herbal.
3.6 Clear pale yellow pour with a quickly dissipating white head. Sweet maltiness upfront. Crisp and clean. Very nice.
3.9 Clean and fresh pilsner like they only brew in Germany. Very good with any food and so good thirst quencher.
3.1 Bottle 500ml at home. From K-Citymarket Pirkkala. BBE 2021-07-21. Pours clear yellow with white head Flavor has malts, grain, grass, hops. Medium body, average carbonation, malty finish.
3.9 Very clean, smooth, earthy bitterness. Crisp aroma and long finish. A very solid, flawless pilsner.
3.6 0.5 l bottle from K-Citymarket Ruoholahti, Helsinki. Golden, clear, big head. As usually for German beers, this is excellent thirst quencher. I just don't find much of bitterness. Maybe I should taste this and Helles together to find if there's any difference.
3.2 From bottle (BB 19Nov'20) in footed pilsner. Pours clear gold w/thin white head that settled into a sustained ring. Light aroma of cereal malt & hops. Clean and smooth w/punctuated bitterness.
3.5 On tap at the brewery. Cloudy golden with white head. Malty, bit yeasty, butter in aroma and taste. Sweetish with nice bitter finish. Medium bodied.
3.2 Historical tick which I am adding as a rate so that I can see the impact it has on my stats. 500 Beers To Try Before You Die. Beers of Europe. Standard stuff.
3.0 Pression au V&B. BBB...Bonne Blonde de Base. Bière de soif, légère.
3.7 Bottle shared at David's. A nice light yellow pour with clear crisp notes throughout and some corn.
3.1 Bottle from Total Wine. Clear pale golden with a white head. Aroma of straw, cereal and a touch of citrus. Tastes basically the same; straw malt with a touch of bittering. Pretty light bodied with average carbonation. A clean pilsner bet not especially interesting.
3.6 Bottle from Sterk Amsterdam. Golden pour with decent head, nice balance of breads malt and fairly strong bitter hops. Good pils.
4.2 Very nice German Pilsner. Aromas and flavors are very fresh clean light malt balanced Bittersweet good carbonation and body. Great finish leans a little bitter.
4.3 Very light for a high % of alcohol for a pilsner. A lot smoother than I thought it would be.
3.1 Pours clear light golden with a three finger, white head. Aroma is caramel and Saaz hops. Taste is caramel, moving to Saaz hop backbone. Finish is caramel and Saaz hops. Straight-ahead pilsner.
3.7 500ml bottle brewed in Germany at 5.1%. Light golden colour, very transparent. Good size and duration head. Fruity aroma, with perhaps hints of bathwater...not bad mind, and recognisably German. Lowish carbonation. Fruity hoppy Pilsner this, citrusesque juicy character with an earthy brown bread underlining malt just to let you know it's still a Pils. Rather good stuff as usual from Weihenstephaner, making what is recnogisably a Pilsner yet definitely different from the usual. Modern stylings yet rather rustic in its way. Well worth a try.
