Weird Beard Decadence

Weird Beard Decadence

Stouts should be thick and full bodied due to how you brew them, not because you serve them with nitrogen. Get away from the metallic nitro-kegged stouts and have a little bit of decadence in the glass. Multiple grains types and precise brewing leave decadence stout with an opulent mouthfeel and generous head. Rich with chocolate and coffee roast flavours with just a touch of oat creaminess. Treat yourself!

3.8 Bottle. Very Dark Brown in colour. Massive foamy beige head; very lively carbonation (slow gusher). Excellent lacing. Very Malty; roasty/burnt malts, grainy, coffee, espresso, chocolate, liquorice. Fruity; dark fruits, raisins. Hoppy; earthy hops. Sweet-bitter roast/burnt coffee and chocolate malty. Earthy and dry roast. Liked this. Nice Stout! (2016-06-26)
3.8 Black with huge beige head. Roasted aroma, notes of coffee and chocolate. Roasted, hoppy flavour. Some chocolate later on.
4.0 aroma is great, very potent, i can smell it about a foot away from my glass. the sroma consists of very rich chocolate, a bit roasted with a hint of vanilla.the beer pours into a beautiful dark body supporting a thick caramel foam creamy head. when it comes down the flavor its amazing, replicating the aroma well with a bit of a biscuity flavor as the taste run over the tongue.
3.8 Bottle from ales by mail. Color is dark brown red black. Head is medium and brown. Medium body. Carbonation is medium. Aroma is chocolate, roasted, liquorice, spices, pepper, nuts, hops, leaves.
3.4 Bottle (batch 0249, bb Oct-16). Pours black with a huge tan head. Aroma of bitter roasted malts, dark chocolate, liquorice, hint of metal. Taste is over moderate bitter, light sweet, roasted malts, dark chocolate, hint of metal, lots of carbonation. Not too bad.
3.9 Served in a Teku glass from a 500ml bottle. Pours almost black colour with a thick tan head. Aroma is molasses, smoke, roasted malts, dark fruits, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is smoke, roasted malts, molasses, coffee, dark chocolate, long bitter aftertaste. Full body with lively carbonation which is not complementing otherwise a very nice stout at all. Nice, complex and interesting stout but a bit over-carbonated though.
3.9 Butelka 500ml. Kolor czarny. Brazowa obfita piana o lekko kremowej konsystencji, utrzymuje sie dlugo ladnie oblepiajac szklo. Aromat palonej kawy ciemnych slodow kakao i czekolady. W smaku dosc wytrawne. Standardowe palone slody kawa na pierwszym planie. Malo tutaj karmelu jest jednak gorzka czekolada i kakao ktore daja dodatkowy gorzki posmak. Az szkoda ze tylko 5,5%. Swietny stout.
3.5 Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Black with a tan head. Aroma is roasty, with coffee, dark chocolate. Bittersweetish flavor, roasty, with coffee, some dark chocolate, and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied.
3.9 Bottle. Nose is chocolate, roast, touch of licorice and fruitiness very rich nose. Taste is roast, licorice less chocolate than the nose implies, lactose, slight soy, bitter hop note. Good full Mouthfeel. Very nice stout
3.7 On bottle from Vinmonopolet Norway . Black color, good brownish foam. Medium/high aroma intensity; roasty, coffee, leather snd some very dark choclate. Medium/fyll body & high complexity . Solid bitterness - balances well. Very enjoyable
3.7 Poured from the bottle (500ml), nice black beer with a huge creamcoloured head. Aroma of roasted malt and some hint of chocolate. This also comes back in the taste. The beer has a proper amount of carbonation which gives it a fresh sensation. This is a good stout with just an amount of taste and volume to lift it above average. Good!
4.0 My Bottom Line: This Stout’s roasted malt bitterness and acidity is balanced out by chocolate, coffee, licorice and raisins, in nicely frothy mouthfeel. Further Personal Perceptions: -A tower of foam rises above the brown-hued black, lacing nicely. -Mouthfeel is on the dry side; probably feels so due to the higher-than-average carbonation. -A minty touch appears in the finish as well. -Oats contribute nicely to the mouthfeel. Bottle.
4.1 Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, touch of dark fruits. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is a bit above medium and slightly creamy. Lovely dark roast and chocolate aroma, about as much depth as you can hope for from a non-Imperial Stout. Delicious.

3.5 Can from Oddbins West Hampstead. Very highly carbonated, billowing head, took forever to pour. Strong thick tasting stout, hoppy and bitter, roasty, slightly boozy, some bitter coffee. Good full tasting stout.
3.7 Couleur noire, légère mousse beige. Nez café grillé, note chocolat noir. Gout de café, grillé, malté, avec note de chocolat noir. Fin longue grilléé, chocolat noir avec des notes de réglisse. Superbe, dans le pur style!
3.7 Thanks to Mark for sharing this bottle! Pours a super dark brown with a tan head. The smell is dark roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee. The taste is roasted dark malt, bitter dark chocolate, hints of coffee ending dry and bitter. The body is full and rich with fine carbonation. Nice...
4.0 Black body, medium brownish head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel, dried fruits notes, light ashes notes. Flavours of coffee, chocolate, caramel, then comes roasted malt and ashes with bitterness. Medium roasted malt bitter finish, ends up dry. Onctuous body, low carbo.
3.6 On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, raisins, smoke, roasted notes. Bitter sweet taste, smooth mouth feel.
3.7 On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, huge and creamy tan head lasts "forever". Moderate roasty aroma, notes of mild coffee and dark chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium dry flavour, distinct notes of roast malts and coffee, a hint of dark bitter chocolate. Dry finish with some hops.
3.8 Cask @ in de wildeman, small sample. Cloudy brown color, short head. Aroma of chocolate, some roast, earthy hops, slight bread, blackcurrant. Roasty bitterness in taste, fruity. Some butterscotch as you often see in cask. Good.
3.7 50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, beige - brown head. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, toffee, roasted malts. Flavour is medium sweet, some coffee and cream, toffee, chocolate, roasted malts, bitter finish with some more chocolate. Light to medium bodied. Good stout.
3.6 Bottle. Black coloured with a small off-white head. Sweet and roasted aroma of chocolate with notes of caramel.
3.8 Burk från Ales by mail. Smak och doft av kaffe, choklad, rostad malt, med toner av röda bär. Lagom sötma, syrlig, fin beska. Karaktär och fin smaker i bra balans.
4.2 Cask at Craven Arms. Did not expect this to be as good as it is. I always underestimate Weird Beard. I am thich. Really rich roast, like deeply bitter choc. Beautifully indulgent darkness. Flavour packed.
3.8 Lovely light chocolate aroma. Dry light lactose, tasty with good body and texture, feels slightly effervescent. Impressive, its got something about it. A bit heavy to drink by the pint however.
3.3 On Keg at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Deep black body, deep brown in the light, off-white short-lived head. Nose is smoky, lots of liquorice and espresso too. Sharp bitterness in the first taste, grainy and oaty. Decent full bodied stout.
