3.4 Bottled from Systembolaget Black with a small, beige head. Fruity medicine-aroma. Sweet liquorice and wet hops in the flavour. Very sweet.
3.7 How: Bottle. Where: Systembolaget. Appearance: Dark brown colour with a tan head. Aroma: Chocolate, roasted malt, tropical fruit, citrus. Body: Medium body and carbonation. Flavour: Chocolate, roasted malt, grapefruit, tropical fruit.
3.8 Pitch black. Aroma of fruity hops and roasted malts. Super smooth, big aromas. Bitterness, roasted caramel, malts. Great.
4.0 Bottle at home from The Bishop's Cave. Lovely pour and a strong yeasty nose that quickly dissipated. There were no discernible hops to the taste, but this was nearly a year old so that is hardly surprising. The flavour was complex malts with coffee, soy and a well balanced bitterness that made me smile. The mouth feel was velvety and oily and coated my mouth in loveliness. The alcohol was evident, but added a layer to the flavour. A very good imperial stout.
3.7 Mörkbrun öl med ett beige skum. Rostade toner, mörk choklad, lakrits och karamell. Fruktiga toner finns bara gömda i bakgrunden. Nästan mer en porter/stout.
4.4 Bottle from Cotteridge Wine & Beer, Birmingham. Dark, rich, sumptuous & smooth. Full of flavour - Weird Beard at its best.
3.5 Bottle from Systembolaget, Sweden. Very tiny brown head. Opaque dark brown color. Vanilla and dark roasted malty aroma. Chocolate taste and a full body. The bitterness comes after the chocolate and lingers.
Fin balans.

3.9 @ Havregatan 20170923. Bottle (330 ml) from Systembolaget. Roasted malty, hoppy and fruity, light citrusy, dark chocolate, pine needles, sweet, medium body with an oily texture. The finish is roasted, sweet and hoppy.
3.8 @ Bjällerödsvägen 16/9-17. Bottle from Systembolaget. Roasted malty and hoppy with notes of chocolate and licorice. Body is medium, the finish is dry and roasted malty with hops.

3.8 Bottled: Pours dark (almost black) brown with a dense head. Aroma is roasted malt, shampoo, soy sauce and some smoke. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, fudge and smoke leading to a hoppy and bitter finish.
3.9 330ml from Systembolaget. Black with small and dense beige head, good lacing. Big roasted aroma, chocolate, leather, citrus and grapefruit. Vicious and smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation, full bodied. Smooth roasted taste, licorice, leather, grapefruit orange and tangerines. Citrus zesty bitter finish. Well hidden alcohol.
3.6 Bottle from systembolaget. Pours a dark colour beer with a smal head. Roasted malt with notes of hops, leather and fruit. Dry finish.
3.8 (330ml bottle from Systembolaget, bottled 06/06/17) Pours effectively black with a moderate, well-lasting dark tan head of fine foam with lots of lace. Aroma definitely showcases hops despite the age, lemon peel, mango, orange, raisins, chocolate malt, honeyed sweetness, toast, wafers, black olives, light coffee. Flavour is actually pretty sweet and fruity up front, oranges, plums, sweet lemons, golden raisins, floral honey, brown sugar. Drier and more bitter towards the back, ashy roast, bittering hops with a pine touch, black olives, spent coffee, unsweetened chocolate. Dry finish with moderate bitterness. Lighter body for style, average carb with a soft creamy feel, no alcohol. Feels much more like a black IPA than an imp stout with heavy hopping, roast is in the back relative to the hops. Quite solid for style.
3.6 Dark brown color, small brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, resin, raisins and slight cinnamon. Taste of chocolate, cinnamon, roasted malt, lactose and slight pine.
3.8 Flaska systembolaget. Svart vtska med snyggt och terhllsamt off-vitt skum. doft av rostad malt, brnt socker och honung. Spnnande smak som bde knns mustig och frisk. Chokladtoner med friska humledrag. Lite citrus och rostad malt. Vrmande alkohol.
3.7 Bottle from SB. Dark brown with a medium brown head. Malty and fruity tones. Malt, fruit, coffee and bitterness. Full body with a long bitter / fruity finish.
3.9 2 finger creamy, beige head. Pitch black beer. Aroma is lemon, pine, slight mango and grapefruit along with dried dark fruits like raisins and plums. Only a slight hint at some roasted malts and creaminess at the back. Taste is coffee, light milk chocolate, grapefruit, pine and slight tropical fruits in a nice balance between the light and the dark flavours. Mouthfeel is incredibly smooth. Like velvet in your mouth, before the medium piney & grapefruity bitterness comes in, along with an initial alcohol kick that never overwhelms. Low carbonation. Overall: The biggest complaint I have on this beer is that it's too gentle. I would love this to be a big, beast of itself. It's really good, don't get me wrong, but it's just very calm at the moment. It should have exactly this balance between the juicy & aggressive hops and the creamy, milk stout properties, but notched up to 100. It could also contain more characteristics from an Imp. Stout since it's leaning quite a bit against DIPA. The only trace of alcohol this has, is the pleasant burn after a sip. My first beer from these guys, and hopefully not the last. Cheers!
4.0 Pours black with a moderate foamy tan head. Aromas of tropical fruit, roasted malt, chocolate, roasted nuts, brown sugar. Taste is very fruity with roasted and chocolatey notes and some lactose sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
3.7 Coffee, licorice, grapefruit, pine, resin and alcohol. Deep Brown colour, small tan head, light lacing. Big bite, mid-sweet, salty, grapefruit, licorice, coffee, alcohol, pine and resin. Fullbodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Solid.
3.4 Dark brown, almost black. Lasting laces. Brown sugar and walnut aroma. Rather sweet, coffee, also some fruit.
4.0 kolsvart med ljusbrunt skum. Doftar och smakar tropisk humle men även kaffe och choklad. Fyllig med bra beska Grym Bipa!
4.5 Mooi donkerbruin bier. Koffie met melk-kleurige schuimkraag. Aroma en smaken van cassis, bessen, licht kruidig, drop, zoethout. Heerlijk zoete aanzet die langzaam overgaat in een mild bittertje. En dan komt het zoetje weer terug. Alcohol zit goed verstopt. Heerlijk heerlijk. Super black ipa. Top.
