3.4 Pours a clear, pale golden amber coloration with a small, fluffy head. Smells of biscuity, caramel malt and grassy hops, with hints of vanilla, coconut and brown sugar. Taste is a decent balance of biscuity, caramel malt, grassy hops and lighter notes of vanilla, coconut, brown sugar and just hint of lime and peppery spice. Finishes bittersweet, with a very light bitterness and some biscuity malt, grassy hops, vanilla and coconut lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a light/medium body and medium carbonation. While this is probably not quite what you would expect from a "Bourbon Barrel Bock", I think it's still enjoyable enough in its own right. Keep in kind that this is a 6.6% ABV Single-Bock, not a Doppelbock, which shows in a light coloration and malt complexity, with the grassy hops also coming through perhaps just a bit too much. On the other hand, the different barrels are actually quite noticeable, just not very intense due to the relatively short aging period. There's some vanilla from the bourbon barrels, coconut from the rum barrels and brown sugar and peppery spice from the tequila barrels here. The main disappointment is a relatively light body and mouthfeel, while the flavors are actually reasonably complex and just lack a certain intensity. All in all a decent brew for the ABV, just don't expect it to be too rich or intense.
3.7 Foggy gold. Decent white head. Aroma: solid malts, oak barrel, light bourbon. Medium body. Taste: light to medium sweet, malty. Some esters. Moderate bourbon barrel profile. Low to light bitterness. Warming. Interesting one.
3.6 Bottle. Pours orange hazy with thick off-white head. Aroma of wheat, slightly fruity with touch of raisins, grape, apple, spicy. Taste is light to moderate sweet, light bitter, spicy and fruity mouthfeel. Medium to heavy body, creamy texture, light bitter finish.
3.7 Bottle. Clear dark gold/bronze with a small white head. Aroma of apples, raisins, rum, bourbon and malts. Taste dto plus marzipan, calvados and vanilla. Slightly sour. Moderate bitterness. Medium carbonation. Rum and bourbon shine through but the tequila is very subdued. I wasn't sure if this combination would work but it does. Very interesting and well done.
3.3 Duitse degelijkheid, uit Plankstadt - Schwetzingen. Amber bier. 6,6%. Drie maanden gerijpt in bourbon, rum of tequila vaten.
2.9 Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate maælty and light hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Caramel, bourbon vanilla notes. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate.
3.6 Amber colour, head disappears quickly. Aroma is intensive vanilla, toffee, a bit of resin and alcohol. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Does not feel too heavy. Very good!
3.4 Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is grainy malt with vanilla, wood, some caramel, touch of bourbon and dried fruits. Flavour is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Tastefully barrel-aged, not picking much rum or tequila, some bourbon is there with mostly wood and vanilla showing up in the aroma.
3.4 Fles 33cl thuis. Vanille, licht Bourbon, boterachtig, zacht, bokzoetje, caramel, licht boozy. (7-9-2019).
3.7 Beczka wyczowalna, natomiast podstawa nie należy do mojego ulubionego stylu. Jednak całość oceniam dobrze.
3.4 Cloudy amber with a lasting medium offwhite head. Aroma is caramel, spice and notes of bourbon. Taste is sweet witn notes of malt and caramel.
3.8 10.08.19 AR: Honig, Rauch, säuerlich AP: trübes bernstein/goldbraun TA: rauchig, holzig, Bourbon, Honig, Vanille
Hier schon fast etwas sehr dominant.
3.5 Slightly cloudy amber, lasting thick offwhite froth. Caramely aroma, aa little wood, very vague notes of bourbon. Sweet flavour, malty, caramely. Again only light hints of wood and bourbon, but that's ok for this one.
3.3 33 cl fles. Helder oranje van kleur, fijne romige creme schuimkraag. De geur is karamel en gedroogd fruit. Smaak is zoet, karamel, gedroogd fruit en erg licht bourbon. Medium lichaam, veel koolzuur.
3.7 Thuis uit een flesje. Mooie amberkleur, beige schuim, verdwijnt snel.
3.2 Poors dark orange with off-white lacing foam head. Aroma is sweet, barley and fruit. Taste is same with notes of bourbon. (Velp 201905)
2.8 Welde Bourbon Barrel Bock Bock- Hell/Heller Bock/Maibock 545410 Lukt: Humle, malt. Utseende: Gulbrun. Skum/kullsyre: Dekkende skum. Smak: Humle, malt, søtlig avslutning. Hvor: Tasting kveld hos Bryne. Medium: Flaske@330ml, ABV@6,6%, Når@21.04.2019.
4.5 Sehr lecker. Voller, aber milder Geschmack.
3.6 A good beer overall, but a little thin on the body for a strong bourbon barrel aged beer. I would like a little more chewiness to balance it. Craft beer store dresden (3.5 Feb 2019). Update, upgraded to 3.6, the beer is clean and the bourbon is smooth
2.6 Bottle. (thanks Eddan) Hazy dark golden with a small head. Sweet with malt, caramel, some oak and some fruit. The body was medium and the finish sweet. Drinkable but not as interesting as expected.
3.5 3,9/3,5 / 3,5
3.1 Clear golden. Aroma is surprisingly nothing really bourbon. Some hay melon and malt. Taste is harsh sweet and sour juice. A bit hoppy. Not so great.
3.8 Hazy golden color with off-white head. Aroma of caramel, rum, fruit and winegums. Very good aroma. Taste is medium sweet, notes of caramel and winegums, and rum. A hint of boost in the taste as well. Very complex beer, so you get different impressions the more you drink. Very good.
3.7 18-10-2018; bottle; at home (bought online at Beerwulf Webshop, Amsterdam, The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are nice. I expected a darker beer, but that again not all Bock beers are dark. The colour is a nice golden amber, with on top a small slightly off-white layer of foam with medium foam retention. The beer has a slight cloudiness, but it is still possible to see trough it. The beer has some nice aromas. There is a nice mellow sweet maltiness, that forms a lovely base. There are some yeast aromas, that contain some butterscotch, that is very nice in this case. It goes perfect with the delicate touches of bourbon, which creates a lovely mellow sweet-sour aroma of vanilla, slightly sour oak and a spicy hint. It is nice and very gentle, but goes well with the original beer aspects. The taste of the beer is also nice. Medium sweetness and bitterness, and slight sour note of cask-flora and oak. It is well balanced and nice and gentle. Especially that touch of butterscotch, that some might see as a flaw, is really nice in this beer and gives the beer a velvety touch. The palate of the beer is very nice. Medium body, smooth and a bit creamy and rather high carbonation. The finish of the beer is very nice. Quite some spicy yeasts in there and also a nice oaky note. All in all, a nice beer. A bourbon barrel aged beer that isn't extremely heavy as they sometimes can be (not that I mind that though).
4.0 Goldtrübe Farbe. Große feine Schaumkrone. Geruch erinnert an Vanille, Erdbeeren. Sehr malziger Geschmack. Erinnert tatsächlich an einen Bourbon Whisky. Sehr spritzig im Antrunk.
3.6 33cl Bottle from Beerwulf. Hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of oak, wood, just light funk, bourbon, sweet malts. Flavour is sweet, malty, bourbon, wood, oak, light fruity, tiny hint of sharp woody sourness, trace of funk, bittersweet finish. Medium bodied, syrupy. Tasty.
3.5 Bottle 0.33l. Cloudy, gold amber colored. AROMA- sweet malty, bubble gum, caramel, grain, touch of pleasant alcohol. FLAVOR- lightly sweet, lightly bitter, apple and apricot juice, malt, caramel malt, touch of bubble gum and alcohol. Fuller bodied. Good.
Meget god bock.
