This is our interpretation of Gose (pronounced “Gose-uh”), a traditional German-style sour wheat beer brewed with coriander and salt. Once nearly extinct, this very refreshing style is making a comeback.

3.635,5cl Can @ Saveur-Biere, Lille, France.
Hazy golden colour with a thin white head.
Aroma is citrus, wheat, tart, salt.
Taste follows the aroma.
Medium body, average carbonation.
3.5Fles 33cl gedeeld tijdens Kannen en Kruiken festival Amersfoort. Wat zuur, koriander, zeezout, karnemelkgeur. (8-2017).
3.7Can at Himmeriget, Copenhagen. Poured a hazy straw colour with a short-lived fizzy white head. The aroma is gluey skunky grainy malt and some light spice. The flavour is moderate sour with a fresh crisp, biscuit dough, light fruit, salty spicy palate. Medium to light bodied with average to soft carbonation.
Perfekter Vertreter.
3.7Absolutnie klasyczne gose. W aromacie głównie lacto + odrobina słodowości. W smaku wyraźna kwaśność z muśnięciem soli na finiszu. Kwaśność średnia w stronę wysokiej. Smaczne i lekkie.
3.2Really struggle appreciating this style so maybe a little skinny on the score but murky yellow thin head over ripe gosberries light sea salt refreshing.
4.6330 ml can from boxbeers.com/
Pours cloudy straw yellow with a small white head that vanishes quickly.
Aroma is salty, sour citrus fruits with some herbal notes and some wheat-y sweetness.
Taste is salty , tart, herbal, coriander, sour citrus fruits, some sweet notes.
Body is medium to light, with lively carbonation and a long salty and full on coriander finish.
Really tasty and refreshing gose.
3.1Hazy, golden beer with medium body that vanishes quite quickly. Aroma has sourness, fruits, grass and spices. Taste has sour citrus and other fruits, grass, salt and wheat. Quite light body, very nice and refreshing. This is the way I like to have my Gose. Refreshing, fruity and not too sour or salty.
3.4355 ml can courtesy of MK. Pours a murky dull yellow colour with quickly disappearing white head. Aroma is lime, lemon, coriander, wheat and salt. Flavour is very citrusy with lots of lime and lemon, salt, light wheat and spice. Lighter bodied. Pleasant.
3.4Bottle (or can?), sometime in 2014. Hazy light orange-yellow body, thin off-white head. Sour nose, light, fruity, and grassy. I noted the body was "sour, sour, sour," which I assume to mean sour, with herbal and floral notes. Weird salted-rim margarita impression.
3.8Can: Poured a yellow with white head. Aroma is salty and wheat. Taste is sour grain with salt.
3.5Can from Bacchanalia, Mill Road. Pours cloudy yellow gold with a short lasting white head. Aroma of lemon, lime, green mango, coriander, cucumber, banana and salt with slight mint. Light sweetness, medium sour, moderately salty. Light body, oily texture, average carbonation. Salty, and increasingly sour finish. Decent.
3.4Fra dåse.
Uklar lys gul med hvidt skum.
Frisk citrus/lime aroma. Lidt krydret også.
Let og syrlig med tør afrunding.
3.2Can at home. Unclear warm golden with short lived white bubbly head. Sweet googlemoogly. That’s not sweet at all. Sour grain, grapes, tortilla chips, elderflower, arnica, cow parsley, lemon rind, pee, milkfilm. Moderate sour and light salty. Medium body and sparkly pop carbonation. Lactic film and cardboardy corn aftertaste. Strong aromatic herbal notes from the coriander don’t taste like coriander any more.
3.7Can from Top Shelf Beverage. Pours a hazy gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Light lemony tartness on the nose, some faint grain aromas. Grainy on the palate, but light with good lemon and citrus zest. Slight salt on the finish. Good body for the style, with medium tartness. Well-balanced.
3.1Hazy yellow with small head. Nose is sour but with grass and salty seanotes. Taste is fresh, grapefruit with some saltiness to go. Palate is short firm and sour.
3.7My Bottom Line:
This elegant Gose juxtaposes salty minerals, juicy citrus and floral spiciness in a cushy mouthfeel.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the cloudy white.
-The citrusy fruitiness is prevalent.
-The finish is barely tart and quite dry.
-Wheat cookies are apparent throughout as well.
Bottle.
3.612 ounce can. Hazy medium gold color. Small white head fades quickly. Tart lemony nose hints at sea water. Tart, lemony flavor upfront. Coriander spice is mild. There is an underlying salinity that remains present, though subdued. Overall, very drinkable and remiscent of an earthy, briny lemonade.
3.1Can at home, Nivala. Color is slightly murky orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Salt, sourness, some berries, some sweetness and malts. OK. Some spices in finish.
3.5Hazy, yellow color. Big , white head. Funky , tart aroma with notes of wheat malt and lemon. Wheat and lemon zest in tart taste with hint o salt . Refreshing and easy drinkable.
3.8Can poured into a snifters showing moderately filtered honey yellow with a finger of clean white foam.
The nose shows tart and moderately intense notes of biscuit, lemon, and light vegetal notes.
The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Moderately tart with flavours of light biscuit and mild brine with a mild bready malt finish.
4.0Can. Funky sour nose, a tad salty, some fruits here and there and some pickled vegetables zest. Tarty citrus in the taste, with sour lemon, sea salt, more pickles (but the good kind). Coriander also, and some apricot seeds. Refreshing and light. Good stuff.
3.9Simple and joyfull ride here. Loved the balance. Bit far from the original Style but never the less expandable to my taste bud orgasmic feel. Loved it alla the way. Other guys told everything I possibly could!
3.912oz can, thanx RB. Pours cloudy pale straw with a foamy white that disappears completely. Funky sour nose. Flavors are tart citrus, sour lemon, sea salt, more funk. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Lingering sour, salty finish. Great example of this style, and a great summer session beer.
3.5Juli17: gyllen sløret. Lavt hvitt skum. Dufter syrlig, lett blomstret og koriander. Smaker friskt, syrlig og et snev koriander. Godt balansert, men jeg kjenner lite salthet.
3.7Recently sampled this during the recording of episode 3 of the South Carolina Beer Scouts Podcast! This notable flagship gose poured a dense hazy yellow gold with clear notes of coriander spice and lemon on the nose. Tangy and sour as expected, an impressive strong flavor intensity but balanced and clean-finishing, with a variety of citrusy flavors. The aftertaste is more of the same tang and sour flavors, with a bit too much saltiness in the finish for my taste, but not excessive and not unreasonable for the style. Close to medium bodied on the palate. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this Gose and would definitely drink this again, a well done and readily available classic rendition of this peculiar style.
3.6Can pours hazy yellow with a fading white head. Nice, sharp aroma of lemon, coriander, wheat, salt, lacto notes. Flavor is dry and tart, lemony, slightly salty. Medium-light feel, somewhat prickly. Good ’un.
4.1Poured from a 12 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a murky golden color with a small white head. The aroma is salty citrus and coriander. The taste is slightly sour citrus with a salty finish.
3.7Can. Aroma of lactic acid and light coriander, light malt. Hazy orange with white head. Taste is dry, moderate- sour and light salty. Light body, dry/oily feel and salty sour finish.
2.7Canette.
