A base of pale, Munich, and Carapils malts is just enough to contain the massive hop flavor and aroma packed into this highly drinkable IPA. A blend of four American hop varieties is added four times in the kettle and twice in the fermenter for a complex and layered hop experience. Best served at 45-50˚F in a tulip or English style pint glass.

4.012 ounce can. Hazy yellow gold color. Large rocky white head. Fragrant pine hop nose. Flavor brings notes of crackery malt, citrus and pine. Think lemon, orange and pink grapefruit. Wonderful balance. Slightly bittersweet hop finish. Outstanding.
4.3020718. Can at home (Beergium). Pours slight hazy golden with a nice head. Aroma citrus, floral notes, pine. Really nice on the tongue. Good balance. This has the elusive American IPA after taste. Awesome stuff. Not Bad.
3.2Found on tap on site. It is a bit malt forward but has a healthy mix of hops at the end and in aroma. Solid ipa with a medium pleasant aftertaste. Best in late spring-early summer.
3.0Hazy orange with a collapsing head. Fruity and citiric aroma with notes of perfume as well. Quite bitter, even for the style, and not fully balanced. Nevertheless, a good IPA.
2.7Aroma of evergreen, very resin. Full resinous bitter hop flavor that lingers for a long time. Good example of a west coast IPA.
3.6Very nice for the style. I thought the bitterness was more than the rating on the can. I like that. Real nice haze and a good level of carb. My first from this brewery and I’m impressed
3.3Blik. Wazig blond bier met witte schuimkraag. Geur: hoppig, kruiden, geranium, wat wintergreen. Smaak: hopbitter, hars, dennen, pompelmoes, moutzoet. Wat lomp, niet zo goed in balans. Medium koolzuurprikkel.
4.2Pale yellow color, large white head. Aroma tropic fruit, peach, mint. Taste pine, citrus, herbs, tropic fruit, full body, bitter finish, excellent balanced. One of my top IPAs.
2.8Limenka 0,33L - poklon iz Spicy daysa - suha, pomalo čudnog okusa, nije ništa specijalno..
3.6Canned from Kroger Savannah. Pine, citrus, fairly bitter and dry. Medium carbonation. Clean.
3.6Can. Canned 09/06/16 (Bought yesterday, didn't check dates at the store - what the hell, local craft beer bottle shop? And it wasn't even discounted). Pours a semi-clear golden body with a tall steady head. Aroma has plenty of dry-hopping going on. Bitter grapefruity taste with woody and grassy hops. Body is a bit light. Blunt woody finish. It clearly shows it's age - will take this into account with the rating to be fair. Should re-rate a fresh can if possible.
4.7Are You ready? Let's go! :) o.. Wow o.. M.g.... Alez to ma aromat. Intensywna żywica, las, ale az bije w nos tak ze nie moge sie opanować cos genialnego cos pięknego. Nigdy nie czułem tak intensywnej żywicy i lasu Ameryka Panie! Old School zdecydowanie im love it! Barwa pomarańczowa, ciemno pomarańczowa piana obfita drobnopechezykowa lecz dość szybko opadająca pozostawiająca genialny lejsing na ściankach. W smaku las, żywica wyjątkowo srogo chmielowy, cos pięknego chciałoby sie rzec niebo w gębie. Jest bardzo świeżo i intensywnie. Wytrawne, zdecydowanie do fajnego posiedzenia. Dawno nie byłem tak miło zaskoczony. Goryczka mogłaby byc nieco wyższa jest średnia. Trochę mniej niz średnia? Albo to moje przepite gardło. Nie no średnia. Bardzo chętnie bym wracał do tego piwa. Top Level bez dwoch zdań!
3.9Nice balanced ipa.
3.80.5 l can from Pivoteka, Zagreb, summer 2017. Hazy golden, medium off-white head. Moderately to heavily hoppy, resin, pine, some fruit. Intense. Very fresh and bitter. Light body, moderate carbonation. Drinkable. Nice finish. This is a true IPA!
3.712oz bottle at the rooftop bar at The Kickerbocker NYC on 28-Nov-2017, served in a shaker. Hazy amber pour with a small white head. Aroma of tropical fruit and pine. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of malt, grain, grapefruit, melon and peach. Light to medium bitterness and decent floral hop profile. Pretty decent fruity IPA.
Seca. Pino y resina en postgusto.
4.0Turbid/opaque golden/amber beer with a medium white/off-white head. Medium aroma with a lot of orange, tropical fruit and citrus. Taste is the same, but stronger, with a beautiful hop finish.
3.9Nice full taste, good fruitiness
A little bit of aftertaste
Paler yellow in color, slightly hazy
Good, not great
3.8Can. Pours hazy golden full white head. Pleasant aroma of citrus and pine. Medium sweet taste. Medium body , finishes with dry hop bitterness. Solid overall.
3.5Canned, 355 ml, courtesy of JFK10000. Hazy golden, medium white head. Vague hops, fruity, citrus, malty, caramel, bitterish finish. Medium bodied. Pretty much dead which is understandable considering the bb. Candidate for re-rate.
3.4Unclear, yellow-golden colored, medium white frothy head, nice lacing. Aroma is of some malt, bit caramel, medium- pine, citrus and herbal aroma, but a bit stale. Taste is medium sweet malt, caramel, bit orange hard candy, floral, pine and citrus, medium aroma and bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily. Seems to be harmed by the Atlantic crossing, another victim of transportation! Should rerate...
(can, Pivoteka, Zagreb)
3.8My Bottom Line:
Three-dimensional malts ground this IPAs pine needles, ripe grapefruit and green peppercorns in a biscuity, bubbly feel.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A healthy head of foam settles atop the hazy golden.
-Malts are more prominent in the nose than many of today’s most popular IPAs.
-Hop resins are at the forefront, flavour-wise.
-All flavors are clearly organized and brightly showcased.
Can.
3.42017/07/02 - Pours a hazy orange gold colour with a thick, rocky, white head the slowly reduces and leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is ripe tropical fruits, orange and cereal with floral and herbal notes. Smells like a flavoured herbal tea. Taste is cereal, light mango, pine, orange and hops that are herbal, floral and lightly spicy. Mouthfeel is medium with soft carbonation and a moderately bitter, drying finish that is long and lightly herbal. Overall, pretty good stuff.
4.2Westbrook’s regular IPA, from a can bought at Bierhalle Deconinck, canned early March so about five months old - just a little bit too much for this style perhaps, but anyway. Very thickly cobweb-lacing, frothy, thick, egg-white head, foamy but coarse in structure with relatively large bubbles, opening in the middle but clinging tightly to the edge of the glass and remaining very stable in a milky, moussy and elegant way, over a lightly and equally hazy, peach-hued ’old gold’ beer. Still lush and fragrant, exotic, very citrussy, strongly New World hoppy aroma of freshly squeezed lime juice, lime zest even, fresh maracuja, kumquat peel, Meyer lemons, rambutan, granadilla, green banana peel, Thai lemongrass, fresh white bread, lavender soap, freshly crushed wormwood leaves, white grapes, spruce shoots, jasmin blossom, pear. Lively fruity onset, a basket of exotic citrus fruits, very crisp and refreshing, lime, pomelo, tangerine - but granadilla and a dash of starfruit as well, sweetish in its core but with elegantly souring edges; quite sharpish carbonation, minerally, accentuating the sourish aspect and filling the mouth cavity with quite coarse bubbles, perhaps a bit much for the style. Cereally, very lightly ’white’ bready and even faintly caramelly malt core, but no sweet biscuity treats here, all the credit goes to the hops, which swiftly establish a long, wormwood- and very yellow grapefruit-like bitterness that sits on the tongue for a long time without becoming too abrasive; more importantly though, they yield a wealth of retronasal citrus flavours, again very thoroughly grapefruity but also a tad piney and exotic, with impressions of tropical sweet-and-sour fruit species. Some juiciness lingers at the back, very appetizing and refreshing. The retronasal aromas last for quite a while even if this is five months old - I wonder how intense this was at about one month or so. In any case: Westbrook is a very accomplished brewery that handles its recipes with great care and attention to detail, and this IPA is no different; classic West Coast profile, sure, in that sense perhaps already a bit obsolete these days to the hordes of NEIPA addicts, but West Coast style at its best (even if made at the East Coast), with a delicacy, fragrance and expressiveness I have not encountered in quite a while. The aroma is downright addictive if you have a thing for citrus fruits - I have rarely come across them in such a vivid, perfumey, luscious way. A truly stunning example of the general American, ’new’ India pale ale style, one I’d happily present to anyone trying to get acquainted with it here in Belgium, where beers of this profile are often attempted at - as is the case in large parts of the worlds today - but hitherto never really achieved. My faith in Westbrook is once again confirmed.
3.9Can. Cloudy golden. Huge rocky head. Nice fruity aroma. Peach, mango. Dried pear. Medium minus body. Clean pale malts and massive hops form the taste. Grapefruit, walnut, resin. Long lasting medium bitterness. Very good.
3.7On tap at Draught. Pours a gently hazed golden orange with a medium sized white head. Gentle citrus and grapefruit on the nose, a bit of candied tropical fruit. Medium bodied, soft fruit, gentle fruit, slow bitterness, a bit of candied apricot, mango. Slow musk, tropical fruit, slow bitterness.
3.8From tap at ADT. Pours lightly hazed golden orange, with a foamy white head and good lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, oranges, pine with hints of caramel. Flavors follow with juicy, bitter citrus and malt to balance. Medium carbonation, lingering bitter finish. Not over-the-top hops, just a really good IPA.
3.6Mostly gassy aroma, some citrus and tropical fruit from the background, spicy notes. Hazy golden color with medium sized white head. Raw tropical fruit, medium to high bitterness, lots of pine and some grass, much of everything, it’s interested, different, but maybe not so great with balance. Thin to medium body, soft to average carbonation. Overall very nice.
