A monstrously big and hoppy Double IPA. The recipe for this beer was developed by Brewer Shane Cummings. F**kin’ A!

4.1Bottle At home. Pours hazy orange amber. Nose is wonderful bouquet of hoppyness. Tastes of grapefruits, lots of cantaloupe, mango, hint of pine, resin, some caramel. Semi sweet and bitter finish. Quite a pleasant beer.

4.2Bomber to frosted mug, not very floral in the smell, golden hazey brew, darker golden head. Great tasting ipa.
4.1A really hoppy and earthy double ipa. Nice and bitter and hoppy start with a grassy bitter finish. Really smooth and not boozy for its alcohol content. Pours orange in color with a white head. Had at home.
3.7Golden with white head. Bottle pour at christpunchers pad. Hoppy and orange intense happiness. Peach and dank fruit hoppiness. Very tasty
4.1Bottle at Au Trappiste, Bern; 9% ABV, bottled 2/21/14
Hazy golden color. Being old, the aroma is still strong but not fresh, quite animal. Lean body, powerful, moderately sweet, with loads of resiny hops; the fruity side includes grapefruit, lemon, bitter orange peel.
Excellent. I can only long for a fresh bottle.
3.8On tap, poured into a snifter glass. The aromas are light and muted, with a neutral, funky bread crust, and a light orange note. It pours a murky, dull orange with a white, soapy head. The taste is a smooth, balanced medium high citrus bittersweet. The beer is viscous and oily, with a flattish carbonation. The full is bright with grapefruit and bread crust with a smooth, light toffee malt. The finish crisp and clean with a light spice note and leaves an aftertaste that’s lightly caramel and has a bread crust. There’s no detecting the APV until after you’ve had a couple, and you wonder what happened to your balance.
3.7Very good IPA. Good aroma and nice color. Well bodied with a smooth and fresh aftertaste
3.8Draft: pours hazy straw color with a thin but frothy white head, aroma is hoppy, grassy, some citrus, taste is hoppy, bitter with a dry finish. Nice DIPA.
3.7from Au Trappiste - light hazy dark blond beer with a long lasting foam left; strong resiney hoppines with notes of apricot and peaches; full-bodied, sticky and with some sweetness below overwhelmed by a robust bitterness; very resiney hoppy finish, light spicy and fruity

(from draught @ CBC blue session, Copenhagen 2014. Thanks for sharing today’s beers, RateBeer crew!)
3.7(Bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Dec 12 2014) Pours a hazy medium orange with a moderate foamy white head. Aroma of citrus peel, resiny, a bit of pine, some faint tropical fruit notes, caramel malt sweetness and a fair amount of grain, exposed by hop fade I think, On the palate, sweet and fairly fruity at first, grapefruit, orange peel, a little tropical, pine resin builds in the middle. Becomes reasonably bitter later on with fairly robust caramel/pale malt core giving way to resin and, again, a fair amount of grain. Hop bitterness moderately high toward the finish with a bit of alcohol heat and that grain lingering on the tongue. Medium bodied and slightly oily with average carb. This was still a pretty decent IPA even though the bottle was clearly not fresh. The exposed grain bothered me but it would have been much better with that covered and the stronger hop flavour that did it. Will happily rerate fresh cause I think this is a pretty good one.

4.0Bottle, Beer Moth, Manchester. Crept into the glass a hazy orange colour with a small white head. Nose was generous with the citrus/tropical fruits and piney hop. Sweet hoppy flavour with notes of caramel, resin and pineapple. Decent ABV smother and bitterness on point. Medium to fullish body. Would love to try a super fresh bottle. This was a very tasty DIPA and I’m feeling the star hopping connotations.
3.9Small sample from bottle at Camping Ratebeer ’14. Pours hazy yellow with a small to medium beige head. Aroma of yellow fruits, lots of hops, some maltiness and pine, quite nice. Taste is fruity with tropical fruits, hops, hay, some maltiness and an over medium bitter finish. Medium body and carbo. Nice.
4.2Pours hazy amber with medium fluffy white head
Aromas has hoppy citrus, floral, pine, grapefruits, resin
Very well balanced taste with good amount of citrusy and tropical hoppyness built up by great caramel maltyness
12/13/11/13/11/12
2.2sampled at a bottle share. im not an ipa person, but if you are this is one to get ahold of.
3.9Bottle courtesy of obguthr, thank you sir! Slightly hazy golden yellow color. Nice aroma of dusty haystacks, fruit. Taste is nice, bitter tropical fruit.
3.4Tap at CBC 2014. Beer in the glass deep golden, small head. Hoppy-fruity aroma. Starts hoppy, quite bitter, some fruity notes of grapefruit and some lemon. Bitter finish. Okay.
3.7On tap. Darker pour, a little reddish. Assuming this is the right beer, it was just listed as IPA. Kinda just a standard boozy IPA. Nice beer.
3.8Keg at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014, blue session. 02/05/2014. Aroma is earthy resinous piney hop, some citrus. Bright golden coloured pour with a lasting white head. Flavour is composed of sticky resionous pine, clean caramel maltsPalate is sticky chewy hop resin, somewhat sweet. Good drinkable DIPA. Maybe a little sweet for my taste.
4.1Bottle from Beermoth, Manchester. Hazy, orangey gold. Thick, dense, lasting, just off white head. Lovely, fusty, slightly dank hop. Buttery, grapefruit marmalade on toast. Taste is thick, dried fruit sweet, first off, then a hefty, slightly metallic bitterness. Palate is full, thick, and oily. Finishes rich sweet, and heavy, zesty bitter. Daft easy to drink.
3.6@ Camping Ratebeer, yellow/orange beer, both citrus in the aroma and taste, very good beer
