This beer is as hairy as a Siberian... or as a panther. And you better believe it because it gets the black magic from mountains of roasted malts and dark candi syrup. During the long weeks in the fermentor it gathers its rage... a rage this mythical beast of imperial stout wants to unleash on your taste buds.

4.0LCI. From the tap @Biercab in Barcelona. Beautiful imp stout, loads of coffee, roasted malts and vanilla. Great!
3.7Bottle shared at Cotteridge Convention 2017 - cheers all! Pours oily black with a dense, creamy beige head. Moderate ashy roast in the nose, burnt marshmallows. Medium sweet flavour with notes of tangy burnt wood, dark chocolate. Full bodied, chewy, with velvety texture and fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, moderately sticky, more dark sugars, ash, cocoa. Good one.
4.3Almond chocolate and cocoa, roasted malt, licorice, some marshmallow. Pitch black color with medium sized brown head and fast retention. Chocolate, bitter cocoa, well balanced, praline, biscuit, writer cookie, chocolate cake. Full body, soft carbonation, creamy and oily.
3.566cl Bottle. Black colour, beige head. Aroma is sweet, molasses, pumpernickel, very much Baltic Porter-like, malty, figs. Flavour is sweet, malty, pumpernickel, figs, rye, liquorice, sweet finish. Medium to full bodied. A bit too sweet for me.
3.7Inky black pour under a thick tan foamy head. Nose of black licorice and a little molasses, a touch of dark chocolate, and a whiff of anise. Big dark flavor that’s full and black roasty with molasses and hints of licorice, with a big boozy dark finish. Big basic dark imperial stout that’s well made without any bells and whistles.
3.9Bottle at tasting. Aroma of sweet sugar, chocolate, malt, molasses and figs. Taste has basterd sugar, molasses, chocolate, licorice, caramelised malt, bitter figs and sweet syrup. Boozy finish. Really nice.
3.9Tap. Color dark brown with medium brown head. Aroma malt, sweet, dark chocolate, wood. Taste sweet, dark malt, honey, chocolate.
3.7Pitch black coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall rich deep brown head that fades fairly quickly, especially for the style. Aroma of molasses, alcohol, roasted malt, light coffee, lactose and full cream, some star anise and fennel seed and a touch of oatmeal and softer sweetness from caster sugar. Full-bodied; Super roasty flavours at first with a big dose of oatmeal, grain, alcohol, anise, coffee and a good hunk of chocolate is noticeable near the end, but the other flavours sort of override that. Aftertaste shows some oatmeal, coffee and a lot of anise and spice elements that make this a bit more flavourful, but still nice and realtively easy-to-drink, especially for the style. Overall, the alcohol hits hard, but the flavours are relatively muted, even with no aging at all, and the anise and spice notes show the strongest, along with some cream and lactose sweetness on the tail end. Good to sample and well worth trying if you can find this! I might try it and age it if I can find it again! I sampled this 65 cL bottle sampled fresh (which is the first time i've done this with an Imperial Stout in years), purchased a few hours ago from Sol's Liqours in Atlanta, Georgia for US$11,99 sampled in my hotel room a few blocks away in Atlanta, Georgia on 27-May-2018.
3.9Bottle from the 2017 Christmas gathering. Dark black with a creamy espresso topping. Hard roasted malt with dark and bakers chocolate, espresso grinds, full body and mild+ carbonation, slightly sweet but then booze and mild bitterness take over on the palate, that then fades and you get a chocolate sweet roast left.
3.6The aroma is boozy and full of candy syrup, chocolate and coffee. The color is pitch black. The taste is full of candy syrup, chocolate and coffee. A nice beer!
4.3Newish imperial stout by Westbrook, from a bomber bought at Beergium and shared with Goedele. Pale mahogany-beige, moussy head, immediately opening in the middle and leaving behind only a thing ring and some dots around the edge, over a black beer with translucent, deep chestnut brown, hazy edges. Lovely and powerful bouquet of coffee liqueur, hot chocolate sauce, melting toffee, brown rum, almond, mocha ice cream, bayleaf, leather, espresso, cured meat, pipe tobacco, glue, whisky. Sweet onset, chocolate-covered raisins and candied figs, with a sourish undertone and a light, cured meat- and porcini-hinting umami edge; softish carb, thick and greasy body as is to be expected from the style. Thick layers of hazelnutty, walnutty and fondant chocolate-like malts, beautifully bittersweet with more toasted and eventually coffeeish bitterness at its tail, highlighted by a spicy, black peppercorn-ish hop bitter note and whisky-like, heating alcohol accentuating the peppery character of the hops without becoming overly burning or wry. Textbook American style imperial stout from an experienced craft brewer, no excessive experiments or exotic ingredients here but extremely well made and packed with flavour. My mouth still waters reminiscing about it three days later…
3.822 ounce bottle bought at Ale Yeah. Deep dark in color with tan creamy head. Slick. Oily. Some sweetness and syrup.
4.6Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 20C). Bottle 65 cl - Batch unknown (BBF unknown - Bottled on 2/20/17). AROMA: medium-high roasted malt aroma with vinous character. the malt has notes of coffee, cocoa, slight Maillard, dark licorice with a slightly sweet background. complex. APPEARANCE: black color and opaque without highlights. medium-low moussy brown head. slight leg formation. perceptible viscosity. TASTE: meidum roasted malt similar to the aroma: coffee, dark chocolate, licorice and port-like vinous character. faint bread crust. slightly sweet background with a coffee-and-cream character. medium bitterness with a slightly dry and roasted finish. PALATE: full body and chewie with a luscious, velvety texture. medium soft carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: the definition of imperial stout.
3.6Bottle from Beerdome. Aroma is dark chocolate, roast, candy syrup, liquorice, and some notes of fruits. Flavour is quite sweet in a candy sugar kinda way with alcohol. Body is medium to full. Nice but very sweet and a bit disappointing for the style.
2.8660ml bottle - shared by martjoobolut - thanks! (5:4:5:4:10=2.8)
Savoury roast aroma, some booze. Taste similar, savoury, sweet, mashy, and sticky. Full palate, pleasant carbonation. Sweet and a bit dull, more a baltic porter than an ale. A bit unsophisticated, and the alcohol's not covered.
3.2660ml bottle (thanks martjoobolut). Pitch black color. Small size, brown head, stays. Roast, buttery, berries in aroma. Alcohol, roast, vanilla and woody in taste. Woody, sweet, caramel and alcohol in aftertaste. Solid brew.
3.7Bottle. Pours black with brownish head. Aroma is roast, coffee, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, malt, some chocolate, slight milkiness. Finish is roasty and boozy. Overall: very good.
4.0Bomber @ home. Pours pitch black, like oil. Dense brown head with pretty good retention. Aroma's: roasted malts, chocolate, some red fruit, light alcohol. Retronasal there's chocolate, drop, hard roasted malts, a bit bay leaves/laurier, red fruit. Flavour is light moderate sweet, roasted (almost sourish), light bitter. Alcohol feel is not overly strong. Full bodied. Quite soft mouthfeel. Fine, prickly carbonation. Long finish with roast, dark chocolate, moderate bitter.
4.0draught@Bierkeller Au Trappiste - black beer with a decent head retention; toasted malty, chocolatey aroma with notes of dates; thick and full-bodied, quite sweet yet managed to be decently dry; long chocolatey, fruity and caramelish finish
3.6Bottle split at Cotts Convention III, thanks to Daniel, 20/05/17.

Nose is tangy dark fruits, dried berries, light spice, varnish, toffee.
Taste comprises dark chocolate, toffee, spice, charr, earthy roast, dark malts.
Medium plus body, fine carbonation, drying close.
Ok impy stout but expected a little more.
3.7@ Amsterdam 17-11-24 (backlog rating). Mycket fin fyllighet och tydliga toner av choklad och lakrits. Stabilt
3.5Pours black, small ring of dark head; Smell is mild sweet, roasty, typical Imp stout. mild coffee, some cocoa. Taste is full, roasty, rather bitter, cocoa, medium to medium-thick body. medium carbonation. bit sweet. OK.
4.1Bottle from 2017 Xmas gathering. Pours dark lots of lacing and head. Notees of dark fruit, coffee, espresso. Tasete medium bitter, big sweet. Medium creamy body hot alcohol finish.
3.8Potężne uderzenie słodowości w aromacie. Karmel, toffi, palone słody, czekolada, kawa, ale też sos sojowy. W smaku słodko i potężnie, nieźle ukryty alkohol. Potężne piwo degustacyjne. Może nie do końca moja bajka, wolę bardziej wytrawne risy, ale doceniam kunszt.
3.8650 mL bottle. Pours inky black with a big mocha head. It has that meaty aroma that smoked beers have, without having the smoke. Some licorice and heavy malt sugar aroma. Tastes of sweet fudge, licorice, roasted malt. Back end is a little fruitier, again with the meaty flavor without the smoke. It's a little boozy, but not oppressive. Heavy and slow to drink, but never too difficult. Not my style, but I like it nonetheless.
4.0On tap at Beer Temple. Black with a medium tan head. Sweet with chocolate, dark malt, licorice and some coconut. The body was full and the finish long.
4.3Tar black pour with aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice, and some molasses. Roasted malt and chocolate dominate the flavor with some licorice and molasses. Think oily body. Great beer!
4.3Bottle. Pours fully opaque black with a medium brown head which soon recedes. Aroma is caramel, fudge and cocoa. Taste is caramel sweet, fudge sweet, cocoa sweet, vanilla sweet. Oily mouthfeel.
4.2Bottle at Craigs. Pours black, nose is chocolate cake - vanilla and caramel, coffee, hint of smoke, taste is sweet toffee, caramel, chewy, chocolate, vanilla.
