3.32016-10-07 Sample from bottle @ Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival. Vinous taste. Herbs and lemon.
4.1Bottle 33cl bought at Dranken Geers in Oostakker. Pours dark hazy blond with a medium white head. Nose: sourish, malts, apple, barnyard, cider. Taste: soft to medium carboration. Soft sourish with hints of apple. A pretty malty feeling in the back of my throat. Warm alcoholic feeling. Acidity. Slightly bitter. Very good this one!!!
3.5Mild sour yeast aroma. Immediately a bit tart but not abrasive. Palate is bubblegum, pineapple, silky body. With this one I can enjoy the funk because it’s like a fine soft cheese, not like other straight up vinegar sour beers. Enjoyable, but Im still not interested in these funky brett science project beers. This one is at least somewhat enjoyable and not a full scale bacterial attack on the palate.
No, ei auta. Samea likaisenruskea olut. Tuoksu belgihiivainen, hapan. Maultaan hapan, omenainen, melko kuiva.
Aromat estrowy, lekko fenolowy i mocno dziki, przyjemny. W smaku pikantne, lekko kwaskowe, sporo nut starego siana, skóry, zepsutych brzoskwiń. Agresywna goryczka o chemicznym, sztucznym profilu, wysokie nagazowanie...
3.9Bottle, 33cL. Home. A orange-yellow hazy beer with a big white foamy head ; good retention. Light wood, apple, barnyard, roast, herbal notes. Medium sweet, warming touch, light dry lasting sour, medium bitter, light fresh windy. Good body, average texture, average good carbonation, sweet fruity acid dry finish. Overall, a great wild strong belgian ale.
3.6Lotto 191003042014, best before 05/2019, aperta l'11 giugno 2016.
Ben carbonata, corpo medio-leggero, texture leggermente oleosa.
3.4Bottle at Appellation Wines tasting. Clear amber body with a thin white head. Aroma of marmalade and hay. Flavour of sugar, orange and herbs. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Orangey and sweet.
3.6Bottle at appellation. Pours pale orange, nose is caramel, toffee, light fruit, taste is similar, sickly.
3.6Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl.
Appearance - bright amber with a decent head.
Nose - brown sugar. Bread.
Taste - more of the same.
Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry tangy finish.
Overall - good beer.
3.7Bottle at Comely Bankers III. Pours clearish copper. Nose is toffee, caramel, sweet, sugary, Tastes wooden and fruity notes, sweet caramel, raisin.
3.9From bottle. Pours hazy Amber. Aromas of apple juice, pine resin, citrus fruits. Spicy, fruity and mossy on the palate.
3.9Bottle in the Hawkshead Beer Hall. Golden with a white head. Nice fruity floral aroma. The taste is sweet, sour and bitter all at the same time. Citrus and bready flavours. Very good.
3.6Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, plae orange with a large, beautiful, white head. Aroma is fruity, apricot, slight cherry, flowers. Taste is fruit, fermented fruit, stonefruit, flowery.
3.5Gusher, hazy yellow-orange colored, strong white puffy head, long lasting and nice lacing. Aroma is tart ripe fruit, some orange, straw, spicy phenolic and yeast. Taste is medium sweet malt, bit caramel, strong fruity tartness but medium- sourness, some orange and straw, medium spicy-phenolic bitterness, some yeast and bread, dry finish. Medium bodied, lively carbonation, oily.
3.21ere bouteille partie en gushing, reste 5cl a boire... étonnant
2e bouteille ok. Couleur orangée trouble, petite mousse. Nez fruité, brett, fruit verts, alumette, genre sour ale.
3.7Bottle 33cl. (BB 12/2017). What a gusher! Despite the warnings on this site and my cautious handling of the bottle about half of the content went astray. The rest poured into a teku glass. Cloudy dark amber, small frothy off-white head, light lacing; sourish aroma, peach, apricot, apple, barnyard; taste is medium sweet and sour, fruity, light honey, with long duration, light bittersweet finish, spicy notes; medium body, oily to sticky texture, lively carbonation; very nice.
2.633cl, 2014ish vintage shared at Biere mit Stil 1: Worldwide Tripel Tasting@Bierhandlung Freiburg JAN2016. - Again, a major gusher, despite a 24h rest: about half remained in the bottle, mainly coating the bottle from inside as foam. Struise’s beers are proving out to be less and less ideal for tastings or idealistic drinkers who prefer at least 2/3 of the bottle to end up in their glasses. - Luckily had this once before - median impression: brett makes a yeasty sweet-tooth barley wine thin and jumpy. - Flattish in the nose apart from a Co2-powered sourish tinge and thinned out fruit caramels. - - No direction in flavours really: it’s a dirty sugary free-for-all that throws itself up in the air and sees where it lands. Boozy Granny Smiths coated in supermarket honey. Fizzy mouthfeel. Wipe & next.
3.633 cl. bottle, huge gusher upon opening. What beer was left, poured in to a Tulip. Hazy, amber-golden colour with a huge, white head that fades to big, fluffy lumps. Fruity aroma with bretts, yeasts, caramel malts, spicy and earthy notes. Somewhat tart. Taste is lightly sourish with sweeter caramel-vanilla undertones. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and a fizzy carbonation. Finishes dry with tart fruits and bretts. Strange one - I’d expected sweeter with the bacteria less prominent. Still worth cleaning the table.
3.40,33l bottle @ One Pint Pub. Pours clear golden with a high foamy head. Aroma is slightly sour malts with some belge yeast. Flavor is slightly sour malts, belge yeast, alcohol and some hops. Good stuff.
3.5Pours a huge foamy white head. Aromas of light hops and lemongrass. Hazy orange body. Thick in mouth with feeling of marzipan. Pleasant balance but more suitable for spring or summer.
3.7(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE 05/2019, at One Pint Pub, 20151204) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, tartness and spiciness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were spiciness, tartness, sweetness, wood and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody and bitter. A pleaseant and complex yeasty brew.
4.0Shared 33cl bottle thanks to Maakun. Hazy orange, floating stuff, white head. Fruity, orangey smell. Soft mouthfeel, nice fizzy carbo. Backlog from 2014/10/24.
Lambic fruitzuur vs barleywine? Backlog from 2015/01/19.
3.7Bottle at home (quite a gusher). Aroma is almost like a gueuze; acidic, funky, yeast, barnyard, light floral, quite nice, even though, probably not intensional. Taste is bitter sweet with fruity acidity, yeast, dry bitter ending, some tartness again and a slightly too harsh bitter aftertaste. Quite nice, almost worth the 15 min degassing and cleaning your ceiling… ;)
3.6Large foamy white head over a golden hazy body. Nose is sour, with peach, orange and coriander with caramel malts. Light bodied with an oily texture. Sweet malts, light bitterness and alcohol taste in the finish, with dry sourness.
3.733cl bottle from Struise shop, Brügge. Pours clear rather pale golden with a very bubbely white head. Fairly yeasty and fruity aroma with funky notes, peaches, citrus and some slightly floral notes and hints of barnyard and brett. Moderate to medium sweet and surprisingly funky and acidic. Did kind of expect the more sweetish classic Belgian triple, but this is some really nice refreshing and tasty brew. Funky and delicious, but a bit too fizzy!
