2.2 Golden color, kind of hazy, small white head. Apple, champagne and vinegar aroma. Medium sweetness and sourness. Thin to medium body, average carbonation.
2.5 Hazy-ish golden color, average sized head. Medium body, very soft carbonation. Aroma of apples and vinegar. Taste is tart apples and tolerable sweetness. OK I guess, but not my cup of tea.
3.5 Appearance: Clear amber. Aroma: Bruised apple, woody, bandaid, barnyard, earthy. Taste: Medium sweetness, low acidity, medium tannin. Palate: Thick smooth texture, light/medium body, quite dry, average carbonation, lingering apple, spicy, sweet, chalky, earthy finish. Comments: Very tasty. Rating is for 6%ABV bottled version.
2.8 Golden, small white head. Aroma is vinegar, apples, vanilla, wood. Taste is medium to heavy sweet, medium to heavy acidic. Medium body, watery to oily palate, medium carbonation.
2.9 500 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits. Pours a clear deep golden colour with quickly disappearing white head. Aroma is apples and wood. Flavour is slightly tart red apple and a woodiness that leaves a bit of an unpleasant finish. Nice, but for that finish.
3.0 500ml bottle. Pale yellow golden colour, some initial fizz, no head. Aroma of apple, oak, straw. Taste is tart apple, woody, slightly barnyard with some sweetish notes. Slick mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dryish fairly crisp finish. Quite OK cider.
3.5 From the cellar (bladder bag?) at the Akwright Arms, Duckmanton, 04/10/13. Clear golden with no head. Nose is strong on apples, light smoke, straw. Taste follows, apple glue, straw, earthy orchards. Fullish body, still, tangy apples in the finale. Decent enough cider with balls.
1.7 Schon der Geruch ist extrem geschwefelt. Das Getränk selber ist dann ähnlich.
2.0 500ml bottle to tulip. Appearance is a bright amber with no head. Aroma consists of sulfur, apples, wood, pear, and slight caramel. Taste is apples, wood, earthiness, smokyness and....bacon. Palate is sweet, slightly cloying, no co2, finish lingers slightly. Overall...not bad, tastes like alcoholic apple juice...I prefer something more dry.
2.9 500 ml bottle. POurs a clear gold with no head. Aromas of woody old apples. Thick and sweet much not much flavor. A bit of rubber and dried apples.
3.1 Visual: Simple and effect clean-looking label, I like it. Pours deep golden yellow with zero head and zero activity, rather unappealing. Nose: oaked-woody and tangy apples (7/10-aromatic strength) Attack: sharp crispness Mid-palate: rich tangy, 7/10-sweetness (MAIN) oak, woodiness, red apples, (HINT) barnyard, green apple Finish: medium tartness, fruity sweet, mild saliva thickness, crisp apple finish. Summary: Major woodness balanced with clean tart, sweet and tangy apple flavour. Very nice although I wish it was more carbonated. February 13, 2016 re-tasting notes: Visual: Pours deep yellow orange with no head, several large bubbles clinging to the glass, some bubbles reaching the surface. Nose: woody oak, vanilla, mild funk, tangy acidic apple wine. (lvl-6)-pungency Attack: crisp-low micro tingly, tangy light bitter Mid-palate: (lvl-5)-sweetness, tangy-acidic, (MAIN flavours): red & green apple, white grape juice, apple cider vinegar, wet oak Finish: off-dry, vanilla & clean oaked woody exhale, gum-sticky tartness. Summary: Big oak and fruity clean flavours with a strong vanilla presence. This time around I can appreciate more the enticing wood flavour that keeps you sipping. I actually don’t mind the low CO2.
3.3 500 ml bottle. Golden color with almost no head. Aroma of apples, yeast and apple juice. Taste is medium-high in sweetness with apple juice notes with some tartness to it. Uncomplicated and easy drinking cider.
2.6 Bottled, 500ml at The Chequers, Oxford. Pale greenish gold with no head. Quite a sweetish start to this, perfumed apple flesh notes, a little flabby. Not great. Earlier Rating: 7/29/2006 Total Score: 2.3 Keg at The Anglers Arms, Haverthwaite, Cumbria. Pale orange, no head. Nicely balanced fruity dry cider, quite acidic and peely. Great on a hot sultry day.
3.4 Polypin@the imperial, walsall. Yellow still cider. Aroma of apples. Taste is medium sweet, slightly tart apples and smooth. Good cider.
3.2 500ml bottle at 6%. Pours bright gold with low carbonation. Aroma is funky apple skins. Taste has dry apple juice to start and a sour apple finish.
2.5 500ml bottle. Clear golden color. No head, non expected. Sweet, sugary, leather in aroma. Leather, horse saddle, sugar in flavor.
3.2 Bottle. This is quite a nice cider with a good crisp flavor and easy drinking feel.
2.9 Bottle, from Morrisons. Gold, thin quickly disappearing white head and moderate condition. Gentle citrusy sweet apple in the nose, soft and sweet apple in the mouth with a slight woodness anda slight dry bitterness, lingering sweet apple in the finish with a tang of citrus at the end Earlier Rating: 7/11/2004 Total Score: 3.1 Bottle, from Safeway’s. Gold, no head and gentil condition. Pleasant nose, with a sense of fresh apples, rather than the apple juice aroma I normally get (if that makes sense). Soft and sweet in the mouth with lots of juicy and slightly acidic apples and a dry apple skin finish.
3.0 It is warm golden with a refreshing aroma of apples and apple juice. The flavour has sweetness and a dry apple-sourness and notes of apple. The finish is dry and it is a very pleasant and uncomplicated cider – easy to drink.
3.2 Bottle at hobbit, Southampton Hazy pale gold with appleskin nose. Fairly dry with mushy apples, dusty skins and some booze. Medium carb.
2.6 Bottle 50cl, a light copper cider. Nose is intense on apple skin, aroma is on old apple, sweet, apple juice, light astringency at the finish, nothing grate.
2.7 From a cardboard box at the Hilpeä Hauki, Helsinki, Finland. As Wyld Wood Still Cider. Clear golden colour with no head. Apple, sugar and woody caramel sweet aroma. The flavour is apple, sweetness and some apple skins. The flavour is quite simple. Watery. Sweet and boring. I'm sorry.
4.0 Wyśmienity i wytrawny cydr. Kolor ciemniejszy od klasycznych cydrów. Dębowy posmak po półrocznej maturacji w dębowych beczkach jest wspaniale wytrawny i drewniano-żywiczny. Do tego organiczny i ekologiczny. Elegancki to cydr
3.4 Bottle with the late night cheese board. Pale and headless. Chalky, calamine, slightly spontaneous aroma with oak and disinfectant splashes. Mildly edgy, calamine, sherbet and almond-hinting flavour with a finely balanced sweet-sourness. Mellow tannins in the finish. Getting a little bit hooked on the battery acid I’m afraid.
4.2 500ml bottle. Pours a dark orange. No head. Smells earthy and of fermenting apples. Taste - excellent. Not very carbonated but that in no way detracts from the taste. Rich and apple-y. Extremely drinkable.
3.6 In bottle. Pours a yellow colour. Aroma of apples, candy floss and alcohol. Quite sweet with similar flavours. Mild carbonation and very drinkable. Just a little dry and tannic to finish. Some honey in the linger also.
2.4 0.5l bottle. This one pours crystal clear orange-champagne colored body. Not head what so ever. It smells woody and kinda dust-apply with a tart hint in the background. In taste it’s both sweet and dry. Shockingly low on the carbonation - almost flat actually. Sour earthy apples with dry wood sums up the taste. Absolutely drinkable, but I do not really feel the need to buy this again. 15.07.2012
3.4 Bottle shared with McTapps. Nice aroma of sweet and sour apples. Taste begins sour and ends sweet. A good cider for sure.
