4.0 Aromas and taste of insane Belgian yeast spice toasted bread plums candi sugar figs and boysenberry. Overall, exquisite stuff with amazing flavor.

4.6 Flaska. Mahogny med tjockt beige skum. Söt maltig doft med toner av knäck, skumbanan och örter. Något söt komplex maltig smak med toner av örter, banan, knäck och honung. Lätt beska och viss sötma. Fyllig, välbalanserad och varm.

4.3 Pours a deep, dark brown coloration with a medium, fluffy, lasting head. Smells of slightly roasted, bready, caramel malt and estery fruit and spice, with just a hint of dark fruit and chocolate also coming through. Taste is an excellent balance of slightly roasted, bready, caramel malt, chocolate and dark and estery fruit and spice, with notes of raisin, fig, banana, clove and allspice, as well as hints of licorice and herbal, bitter hops. Finishes bittersweet, with notes of estery fruity and spice lingering in the aftertaste. Full mouthfeel with a medium/rich body and medium carbonation. This actually feels very close to their Quadrupel for me, except maybe being not quite as rich, a little more carbonated and just a tad more roasted and bitter. For my personal taste, I probaly prefer it, to be honest. Still, without being quite worth its secondary price, this makes for a very impressive Dubbel that just stands slightly above offering such as Westmalle, St. Bernadus and Chimay due to its richness, balance and above all body and mouthfeel, with the estery character really standing out here.

4.0 Heerlijke dubbel, caramelbruin met een crème kleurige schuimkraag. Fruitig, droog, geroosterd en caramel. Jammer dat ook deze WV lastig te verkrijgen is.

4.7 Brunröd färg med fint brunaktigt skum. Nötig och karamellig arom med kryddiga toner. Smaken är komplex och välbalanserad med fruktiga estrar, kryddighet och karamell. En viss hetta från alkoholen, men det är otroligt välintegrerad med resten av smakprofilen. Finns även en markant beska.

Nach den ganzen Legenden, dass man das Bier nur gegen Voranmeldung vor Ort in der belgischen Pampa bekommt, war ich auch bereit die 20€ für die 0,3l-Flasche zu zahlen. getrunken habe ich es dann mit meinem langjährigsten Bier-Bewerter-Kumpel als Abschluss für einen tollen bierigen Abend. Dieses Bier wird seinen Vorschuss-Lorbeeren auch gerecht. Es ist ein überaus bekömmliches Trappisten-Bier mit frischen Biskuit und einer tollen Sammlung an Gewürznoten: Anis, Zimt, Kardamon, Nelken und Sternanis. Hier verstehe ich die Begeisterung der Community. Ich habe noch nie ein belgisches Bier getrunken, dass eine derartige Aromenvielfalt so gemütlich und süffig rüber bringt. 4.6 Shared from a bottle thanks to johnnnie on June 6, 2021. It is an attractive looking mahogany brown under a huge tan head and even some reddish hues. The aroma emits caramel malts. Belgian yeast, Belgian candied sugar, and a little Belgian spice. Just what I was hoping for. Medium mouthfeel. The taste is sweet and full of light Belgian candied sugar and spice. Just stupendous.

4.2 Light red-brown with a good and lasting off white head. Aroma: Malt (toffee, nuts, toasted bread) but also a fruity freshness (apple, ?) Mouth: Sweet and still fresh. A very long finish, still fruity and with a slight bitterness. Medium body.

Le biais houblonné est très marqué, belle amertume qui rend très buvable une brune gourmande et fruitée.

4.0 Bottle aged since around 2005 and opened in 2021. Dark Ruby black. Low carbonation. Lots of plums, syrupy, soft leather. More plums and wood on the finish. Belgian bubblegum yeasty aftertaste.

4.0 Ruby colour, but many pieces of the yeast, although it was stored upright. Thick persistent foam. Nose is berries with some wood. Taste is caramel and molasses. Aftertaste is strangely all little bit bitter, but it gives a roasty feeling.

Słodowość uzupełniają niskie owoce, suszone śliwki, daktyle, rodzynki i nuty malin. Całość wsparta delikatnymi pieprzowymi fenolami i perfumowym alkoholem. Smak: Podobnie jak w aromacie. Pojawia się trochę więcej akcentów brązowego cukru, nut rumowych. W ustach półsłodkie, treściwość średnioniska, gładka, wysycenie wysokie. Goryczka niska, alkoholowa, lekko pieprzowa, krótka. Finisz półsłodki, karmelu, brązowego cukru, subtelnego alkoholu i pieprzu. Ogólnie: Pijalne i zbalansowane. Brakuje jednak większej intensywności i wyraźniejszej złożoności.
